Here are our picks of the best LMGs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, including their best attachments.

Players often choose LMG weapons for their rate of fire, large magazines, and long-range capabilities. Our guide will provide you with a list of the best LMGs in CoD MW3, including the best attachments for them.

RPK

RPK has a massive damage output in comparison to other LMGs in the game. But I think its best feature is the ability to shoot at really long distances without losing too much of a bullet drop. You also get a significant magazine for prolonged shootouts. Of course, the high recoil may be a problem, but there are a few attachments that can fix that, including:

  • Laser: 1MW Laser Box
  • Barrel: TAC 597 Barrel
  • Stock: FT TAC-Elite Stock
  • Rear Grip: True-TAC Grip
  • Ammunition: 7.62 Overpressured +P

Since it’s a rather heavy weapon, I recommend using it with the Infantry loadout and an X13 Auto secondary weapon. This way, you’ll have an increased tac-sprint duration and reduced refresh time, making this loadout both powerful and versatile.

Pulemyot 762

While RPK is a universal type of LMG that can be used in almost all types of situations, the Pulemyot 762 is specifically designed to control an area by suppressing enemies. This is possible due to its high rate of fire, which makes it impossible for mercenaries to move or respond. Instead, they’ll be forced to constantly look for cover. However, this model has basically the same issues as the RPK, so the preferred list of attachments would be the following:

  • Stock: Rubber Recoil Pad
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support Grip
  • Optic: Mk. 23 Reflector
  • Muzzle: Purifier Muzzle Break

Pulemyot 762 is also quite heavy, so use it with the Infantry loadout, but use Renetti instead of X13 Auto as your secondary weapon.

Holger 26

You don’t typically choose an LMG weapon for accurate shooting, but if you’re focused on getting the most precise LMG in the game, then that would be Holger 26. Although its base setup is quite good, I still believe that it needs a hefty number of attachments to really get the precision right, especially at longer ranges. Here’s what I recommend:

  • Rear Grip: Morn-20 Grip
  • Stock: RB Crotalus Assault Stock
  • Underbarrel: SL Skeletal Vertical Grip
  • Muzzle: HMRES Mod Suppressor

Note that the Holger 26 is not a pure LMG but a hybrid of an assault rifle and a light machine gun, so don’t expect it to be too effective at close quarters.

Bruen Mk9

The last LMG on our list is the Bruen Mk9, which is very similar in its application to RPK, but due to its bulky size and heavy weight, not all players would want to carry this thing around for too long. But if you like big, explosive weapons, then here’s how you can improve it:

  • Muzzle: Colossus Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
  • Ammunition: 5.56 NATO High Grain Rounds

If you want to stay relatively stealthy with this LMG, then the best gear for it would be the Ghost T/V Camo.

That’s it for our list of the best LMGs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Stay tuned for more CoD MW3 tips and tricks articles right here for topics like how to complete Legacy Fortress and how to use Chunks of Flesh.
