CoD MW3: Best WSP Swarm Loadout Build

The WSP Swarm is a monster of an SMG in Modern Warfare 3, and the best build makes it better.

SMGs are in a different spot in Modern Warfare 3 than they’ve been in the past, but with the right setup, they can easily take on the mighty Assault Rifle. If you build the best WSP Swarm loadout, I think you’ll find it can be a sleeper hit in MW3.

The Best WSP Swarm Build for Multiplayer in Modern Warfare 3

Screenshot by GameSkinny

The WSP Swarm build I’ll be laying out gives the submachine gun a bit of everything. ADS control. Hipfire accuracy. Movement speed. And a clean sight picture. The only thing it doesn’t have is a suppressor. However, if you’re playing the build correctly, you won’t be in one spot long enough for a UAV sweep or radar ping to give the enemy an accurate picture of where you are.

Best WSP Wasp Muzzle Attachment: XTEN Razor Comp

The XTEN Razor Comp muzzle brake is the main way we’ll be taming the WSP Swarm’s high recoil. Between a 22% horizontal recoil reduction and a nearly 11% vertical recoil improvement, the gun shoots straighter farther than you’d think possible. All that’s made better by a 12% improvement to overall gunkick, meaning getting on target and staying there is easier than ever.

Best Underbarrel Attachment: FTAC MSP-98 Handstop

You’ll find this attachment on a lot of professional builds, and for good reason. You gain an average 8% movement speed buff across the board and an additional 6% average reduction to gunkick and vertical recoil. Better yet, you’ll only gain 1% vertical recoil, which with the XTEN Razor, is essentially nothing. The gun also sways a bit more when you’re aiming, but I find that I’m either too close for it to matter or not aiming at all, making the penalty a moot point.

Best Laser Attachment: Schlager ULO-66 Laser

This Swarm build attachment was a bit of a toss-up for me; it was between this and the Stovl Tac Laser. However, the Schlager ultimately won out for its massive increase to hipfire accuracy. Hipfire recoil control isn’t really as valuable as it is when aimed down your sights because the distance where you’ll fire from the hip requires spraying, not precision. But with the Schlager attached, your spray will have a much better time hitting your target with a 20% improved hipfire minimum cone and a 10% maximum cone and Tactical Stance Spread.

Best Stock Attachment: WSP Factory Stock

You’ll already be going pretty fast with the WSP Swarm, especially with the FTAC MSP -98, but we’re adding another 6% or so movement speed on top of that with this Factory Stock, and we’re only trading a smidge of aiming stability for the privilege. A fair trade to be the speediest boi on the map.

Best WSP Swarm Optic Attachment: MK.3 Reflector

Could it be anything else? We’re not going for cursed loadouts here — so no sniper sights — and the other close-range options are either too occlusive or just don’t look as nice as the MK.3 Reflector. I’m not really sure why the other red dots exist when the Reflector’s in the game, frankly, but here we are.

I tested this WSP Swarm build myself extensively in the Meat 24/7 playlist and again in regular 6v6. You need to stay close to just inside medium range for it to be effective, and the WSP runs through ammo like it’s going out of style. However, if you keep to the short sightlines and the flanks of the map, it can be an absolute monster.

That’s where I’d put my money for the best WSP Swarm build in Modern Warfare 3. For more content, check out our guides on the best AMR-9 loadout, the best KVD Enforcer build, and more in our MW3 guides hub.
