You'll want to get your hands on Positive Outlook this season, and its god rolls make it something special.

The meta in Destiny 2 changes every few months. Auto Rifles are back in vogue after a long absence, with the god roll Positive Outlook AR being a great choice for all occasions. In this guide, I’ll go over the best Positive Outlook god rolls for PvE and PvP.

How to Get Positive Outlook

There’s currently only one activity set that Rewards the Positive Outlook: Vanguard playlists and focusing Vanguard Engrams. It’s a random drop from the Vanguard Ops playlist, but the best way to farm the Positive Outlook is to go into the Focused Decoding menu when speaking to Commander Zavala. You need to spend those Vanguard Engrams anyway.

You can spend one engram, 25 Legendary Shards, and 5,000 Glimmer for a Guaranteed drop. If you spend a lot of time farming Strikes, Nightfalls, or Grandmaster Nightalls, you should have plenty of engrams saved up.

Positive Outlook Auto Rifle God Rolls

The Destiny 2 Positive Outlook Auto Rifle is almost custom-built for PvP, but much like the Gnawing Hunger before it, it’s a great option for PvE encounters as well. It’s got a great selection of possible perks that can make it your workhorse across any activity in Destiny 2, but it shines best in the Crucible. To that end, we’ll start by talking about its PvP god roll.

Positive Outlook PvP God Roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds, High-Caliber Rounds
  • Trait 1: Zen Moment, Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Trait 2: Eye of the Storm, Kill Clip

This roll gives the Positive Outlook two things that make it even more viable: Range and recoil control. The weapon already handles well without the right perk selection. If you combine Arrowhead Brake, Ricochet Rounds, Zen Moment, and Eye of the Storm, it becomes a laser, especially in a prolonged fight. You can increase its overall lethality with Kill Clip, and trading Zen Moment for Dynamic Sway Reduction makes spraying a better option. The other secondary perks do much the same as the primary, though not quite as well.

Positive Outlook PvE God Roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Smallbore
  • Magazine: Armor-Piercing Rounds, Appended Mag
  • Trait 1: Ambitious Assassin, Stats for All
  • Trait 2: Destabilizing Rounds, Repulsor Brace

Void Auto Rifles have a storied history in Destiny 2 PvE, with veterans from the Season of Arrivals fondly remembering the era of Gnawing Hunger dominance. While the Positive Outlook isn’t quite a return to those heights, with the rolls presented here, you can get as close as possible. Destabilizing Rounds or Repulsor Brace are fantastic with almost any Void build. If you’re facing tons of enemies at once, Stats for All or Ambitious Assassin at the ready makes life easier, as well.

Should you manage to get either of these rolls, you’ll be set for that particular activity. Sadly, the Positive Outlook isn’t craftable, but you can farm it by Focusing Vanguard Engrams with Commander Zavala. That’s it for the Positive Outlook god rolls for PvE and PvP.
