Does Diablo 4 Have Cross Progression? Answered

Wondering if Diablo 4 cross-progression is an option for Blizzard's new RPG? Here's the answer.

If you’re thinking of picking up the latest in the Diablo series n multiple platforms (or decide to later down the line), you may be wondering if Diablo 4 has cross-progression. These days it’s pretty common to have more than one platform to game on, and cross-progression has become increasingly popular, letting you tailor your gaming experience on a day-to-day basis, no matter what platform you’re playing on. And we’re all curious if Diablo 4 cross-progression is possible.

Does Diablo 4 Have Cross Progression? Answered

Yes, Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4 cross-progression will be baked into the experience at launch, so you can battle demons whenever and wherever you’d like. That is, as long as you’re playing on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 5. All of your pre-order items, gear, items, and levels will be carried over. Likewise, story progression syncs across platforms. And it’s all possible through the power Battle.net (Thanks, Blizzard!).

Additionally, Diablo 4 includes cross-play and couch co-op features (the latter on console), so you can team up with friends to slay demons across Sanctuary together, no matter where they play. Having both of these options is a boon for such a massive game like D4, especially one that’s online-only and encourages you to party up with other players.

It’s all music to my ears — and yours, too, I’d wager.

Diablo 4 Cross Progression Explained: How to Enable It

To make use of Diablo 4 cross-progression yourself, you’ll need to purchase a copy for each of the platforms you want to play on. Once you’ve taken care of that, you’ll have to link your console and Battle.net accounts at their login page here. Since Diablo 4 is a live-service game, that’s all you need to do. Your progress will automatically save and carry over.

Diablo 4 cross-progression is a big step up from Diablo 3, which didn’t feature the functionality. It’s nice that Blizzard has stayed in tune with its playerbase and given them more freedom to play where they want this time around.
