Hogwarts Legacy: How to Catch a Phoenix

Here's how to find and catch the Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy.

Here's how to find and catch the Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy.

The Phoenix is the rarest of magical beasts in Hogwarts Legacy. Not only does the Phoenix play a part in Deek’s history, but it also produces feathers needed for higher level upgrades. Here’s the Phoenix’s location and how to catch it.

Hogwarts Legacy Phoenix Location

The Phoenix is located at the appropriately named Phoenix Mountain. If you previously discovered this location, you would not have been able to enter the cave unless you had accepted the quest “Phoenix Rising” from Deek.

Once you speak to Deek and promise to save the Phoenix from poachers, you can make your way to the mountain, either by Floo Flame, broom, mount or walking. If you Need to discover this location, it is in the Poidsear Coast Region, in the Northeast section near another beast den and a poacher camp.

Once you reach Phoenix Mountain Cave, the entrance will be open for you to enter. There will be poachers throughout the cave that you can fight outright, or sneak around invisibly and take out with Petrificus Totalus.

As you make your way deeper into the cave you will find more evidence of the poachers as well as have a cutscene of the Phoenix flying in front of you.

Continue to weave your way through the cave upwards until you reach the Phoenix’s nest. Here it will land on a rock outcropping and patiently wait for you to catch it. Use your Nab-sack and it will instantly go inside.

Return to Deek for another cutscene to start. Room of Requirement will spawn a new Vivarium that the Phoenix flies into. There you can visit it, nurture it and collect Phoenix feathers for your upgrades. Once the Phoenix is save you will also earn the Rising from the Ashes achievement.

Can You Get More than One Phoenix?

The Phoenix is the only magical beast that you can’t breed in Hogwarts Legacy. This is because the Phoenix you rescue is the only one in the game. Returning to Phoenix Mountain will not spawn another for you to capture.
