How to Enter a Car From the Roof in Fortnite

There's more than one way to enter a car!

There’s no doubt that vehicles will be front and center this Fortnite season. This week’s challenge only proves that even more. You’ll need to enter a car from its roof, which may just be a skill that’ll come in clutch this season. Here’s how to do it.

There are two different ways you can go about completing this challenge. Either way, it’s a good technique to know how to do, specifically for quickly escaping incoming enemy vehicles or jumping into an ally’s car without wasting any time.

Where to Find a Car

The first way to finish this quest as quickly as possible is to find your own car. Cars are all over the map this season, but you can find them most often on the outskirts of named locations or at Service Stations.

Service Stations have replaced a few gas station locations. Not only are they a great place to mod your car, but they are where you’ll find some extra cars lying around. You can also gas up or repair your car there. Here are some locations:

  • Southwest of Lavish Lair
  • North east of Lavish Lair
  • Northwest of Pleasant Piazza
  • Between Pleasant Piazza and Sandy Steppes
  • North of Sandy Steppes
  • Northeast of Sandy Steppes
  • East of Brutal Beachhead
  • West of Redline Rig
  • Between Nitrodrome and Redline Rig
  • West of Brawler’s Battleground
  • North of Mount Olympus
  • South of Restored Reels
  • Northeast of Restored Reels
  • Northeast of Reckless Railways

Once you get a car, all you need to do to complete this challenge is jump on the top of it and get in. You’ll see the prompt to enter the car pop up on your screen when looking down at the roof of the car. You’ll need to make sure there is an empty seat in the car for it to work properly.

To enter the car, you’ll use X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, or E on PC. The use/interaction button.

How to Enter an Enemy Car

Another way to complete this challenge, although much more difficult than the first method, is to enter an incoming enemy car. Since you’ll likely come across plenty of enemies in vehicles attempting to run you over, a great way to escape danger for a short time is to enter their vehicle with them through the roof.

As the enemy car zooms toward you, jump right before it hits to land on top of it. Then, just like you did with your own car, look down at the roof and press the button to enter it. This only works if there is an empty seat in the car. You’ll have a better chance at this if you’re playing solos since only one player will be operating the vehicle, rather than a whole team.

Once you’re in the car, they’ll have no choice but to get out of it to try and get you. You can then claim the vehicle as your own and drive away, or hop in that turret for yourself and blow them away. If you can’t beat them, join them; am I right?
