Aggrevrikon is a part of the Picky Eater fiend intel challenge in FF7 Rebirth. This bird fiend resembles a Chocobo and has powerful magic abilities that can quickly get very annoying. So be sure to check out my guide on how to find and pressure Aggrevrikon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
FF7 Rebirth: How to Find Aggrevrikon
I discovered Aggrevrikon’s location to the south of the mako pipeline in the Grasslands. It’s possible to find this location only after activating the Kalm Outskirts Remnawave Tower. Once you do that, simply follow through to the location that I marked on the map below. However, I wouldn’t approach this challenge before reaching Level 19 in Chapter 2.
Aggrevrikon turns out to be a pesky little bugger, so I had to identify the right strategy to pressure this bird fiend. If you let him, Aggrevrikon can magically transform your party into frogs, which can quickly get out of hand. Fortunately, it’s easy to guard yourself from this magic trick by pressing the R1 button at the right moment, right before he casts a spell.
FF7 Rebirth: How to Pressure Aggrevrikon
It can be tough to pressure Aggrevrikon without knowing his elemental weaknesses. But once I discovered that he’s susceptible to combined fire and ice damage, beating him would be simply a matter of time. That’s why I highly recommend equipping both Fire and Ice Materia on your weapon when facing this fiend.
How to Get Fire and Ice Materia
There are several options for getting Fire Materia in FF7 Rebirth. I was able to identify the location of the Fire Materia in the Abandoned Factory, which is part of the “Just Flew In From the Graveyard” side quest in Chapter 3. Alternatively, it’s purchaseable at the item shop of the Sector 7 Slums, also in Chapter 3. But I’d rather pick Cloud or Sephiroth characters, who gain Fire Materia by default.
You can buy Ice Materia at the same item shop as Fire Materia, but if you can spare some time, I suggest simply getting it for free. This is possible during the “A Job for the Neighborhood Watch” quest in Chapter 3 at the Scrap Boulevard cave area.
What Are Aggrevrikon Attacks?
I was surprised to see that Aggrevrikon has quite a versatile set of attacks, which range from simple charged attacks to powerful stomps. Here’s a complete list of Aggrevrikon’s attacks:
- Ghastly Shower
- Charge
- Anuran Fluid
- Stomp
- Stone’s Throw
The one attack that I can take advantage of is the Stone’s Throw. It takes him quite a while to pick it up before throwing it, which opens a window for my own attacks that can easily pressure him. But be aware of his Ghastly Shower, which is the frog transforming magic that I talked about earlier.
Aggrevrikon Rewards
Once pressured and beaten, Aggrevrikon won’t drop much, but these resources will still come in very handy. His kill will grant you Beast Pelt and Celeris.
