Here's how to recover any items you lost after dying in Withering Rooms!

The one frustrating aspect of Roguelike games is losing your hard-earned loot after dying. If you are like me, you may bite off more than you can chew when first learning to play the game. Luckily, you can save your favorite gear, items, and Strange Coins from being lost after you die. Here’s how to recover items lost after dying in Withering Rooms.

If you’re trying to find items you lost after dying in Withering Rooms, there is a way to retrieve them. You must become highly cursed and search for treasure chests with black goop stuck to the bottom. These chests contain items you lost on previous nights. However, you should be careful not to suffer too much Curse Rot because it can lead to death. So, watching your Curse meter when searching for chests is crucial.

For the best results, I recommend you search one location at a time and use a candle to lower your curse meter once you’ve looted all chests at this location. Then, you can move on to the next area and repeat the process. This way, if you run into any creatures, you won’t die from unexpected curse exposure during the fight.

How to Not Lose Coins After Dying in Withering Rooms

You can find permanent Coin Purses throughout the various chapters of Withering Rooms, each allowing you to store 10 coins that persist after you die. These Coin Purses will help you manage your Strange Coins inventory so you always have some on hand when needed, especially when you have an unexpected death. Nothing is worse than starting a new night without any items or weapons!

After you meet the Filthy Wretch in Chapter 1, he’ll teach you how to “remember” items using Shrines of Remembrance so you don’t lose chosen items when you die. These shrines are spread throughout the map and require Strange Coins and Offerings to activate. Once you have activated a Remembrance Shrine, you can return to any of them to remember a different item if you find something better.

Now you know exactly how to save your valuable gear, Strange Coins, and items after dying. This should make the game feel a bit less stressful to play due to how quickly you can become overwhemed.
