Lies of P: How to Alter Weapon Handles

You’ll be able to acquire many weapons in Lies of P. Each gear piece happens to scale based on a particular stat: Motivity (i.e. Strength), Technique (i.e. Dexterity), or Advance (i.e. Intellect or Elemental). Thankfully, there’s a key mechanic that allows you to make changes. Here’s how to alter weapon handles in Lies of P.

How to Alter Weapon Handles in Lies of P

You can alter weapons by talking to Eugenie in Hotel Krat, and by using different types of cranks. There are three types: Motivity Crank, Technique Crank, and Advance Crank. As you might have guessed, these pertain to the three aforementioned stats.

Where to Find Cranks

Cranks can be found as you explore different levels in the game, since they appear as blue orbs similar to other items. They might also be contained in a few chests.

Likewise, you can purchase a limited number of these from Pulcinella, one of the puppet vendors in Hotel Krat. The vendor’s wares can be increased by giving Venigni Collections, special boxes that can be found in some locations.

How Does the Alter Weapon Handle Mechanic Work

To alter weapon handles in Lies of P, simply talk to Eugenie and select the “Alter Handle” option. You can then select an armament that you want to modify. I’ve included several images below that can be used as examples. I used the Uroboros’ Eye, a weapon with Motivity C/Technique B scaling. I was able to obtain it after defeating Laxasia the Complete.

In the images above, you’ll notice the following:

• Motivity Crank — Increases Motivity tier, but lowers Technique tier. At the time, I had more Motivity and barely any Technique, which meant that I still gained a bit of a damage boost.
• Technique Crank — Increases Technique tier, but lowers Motivity tier. My damage was adversely affected since I had more stat points allocated to Motivity.
• Advance Crank — Increases Advance tier and doesn’t change Motivity or Technique. There’s no effect whatsoever since the attacks of the Uroboros’ Eye only deal physical damage. In short, you should only use the Advance Crank if a weapon’s attacks are imbued with elemental effects by default.
