Monster Hunter: World is in full swing, and with it comes plenty of armor sets and weapons to make. However, crafting them requires so many rare materials that it can sometimes be frustrating trying to find all the parts you need. Fighting a monster several times without getting the parts you need is a special kind of hell.

And the Blos Medulla just so happens to be one of those parts. You could fight Diablos a dozen times without ever glimpsing this elusive part. However, there are a few things you can make sure to do when fighting Diablos to make sure your chances of receiving the Blos Medulla are as high as they can be.

Let’s dive in!

How to Find the Blos Medulla in Monster Hunter: World

First of all, make sure you’re fighting only High Rank Diablos or Black Diablos. Low Rank Diablos does not drop the Blos Medulla at all, so don’t waste your time fighting it.

When you go to accept a Diablos quest, consider using a Lucky Voucher, particularly if you’re confident you’ll be able to complete the quest. You can get a Blos Medulla as a normal quest reward in Monster Hunter World, but it’s kind of rare. Running Investigations may even increase your chances of getting one as a reward, too.

Next, consider equipping the Plunderblade Palico Gadget. Not only will it gather random monster materials, but it will cause shiny parts to break off and drop a lot more frequently, and Blos Medullas can be found in those, too, after all.

During the hunt, make sure that you take the time to break Diablos’ back plate. Doing so has a chance of rewarding you with a Blos Medulla once the hunt is over.

Finally, if you’re a really lucky hunter, you may even get a Blos Medulla while carving the monster. If you eat for Felyne Carver, you may be able to get extra carves on the monster, which means more chances to actually obtain the coveted Blos Medulla.

By following all of these tips, you’re sure to get the Blos Medulla in no time. Be sure to check out the rest of our Monster Hunter: World guides.
