Nier Reincarnation: How to Tap Mama 100 Times

Here's how to get 3,000 free gems in Nier Reincarnation by completing a Mama challenge

You’ll need all of the gems you can get in Nier Reincarnation. They’re used for summons, which will let you roll some of the game’s best characters (or at least characters to help you through the higher difficulties and Force levels). To get 3,000 free gems, you can tap on Mama 100 times.

Mama is the companion ghost that follows your character through most of Nier Reincarnation, and while this particular challenge is exactly what it sounds like, there are some pesky subtleties that can make completing it confusing.

First, you must tap Mama 100 times in-game — during a mission or in Mama’s Room (tested on Android; after Chapter 2). It does not work in Reincarnation‘s menus.

For instance, I completed the challenge as soon as I found Mama in the prologue, so it’s possible to complete this task at the very beginning of the game. However, you won’t unlock the Missions menu until the beginning of Chapter 2, and thus won’t be able to collect your free gems until then.

It’s also important to know that this particular challenge does not appear in the “Challenges” subtab in the Missions menu before you complete it. It only appears after you’ve met the prerequisites.

You may also have to close the game on iPhone and relaunch it for the rewards to appear; I did. However, the gems did appear as soon as I unlocked the Missions menu on Android.

Make sure you complete this challenge every time you reroll if you’re going for a specific character or set of character summons. You can get the 3,000 Gems each time

There are plenty of opportunities to get gems in Nier Reincarnation, from watching ads to logging in daily to fulfilling special tasks.

Tapping Mama 100 times is only one way. The 3,000 gems you add to your coffers will get you 10 summons. Cross your fingers for the best! For more tips, consider checking out our other Nier Reincarnation guides
