If you managed to find the Compact Pistol inside the survival raft in Sons of the Forest, you also need 9mm ammo. But where do you get it? The raft is empty. Here, I’ll tell you how to find 9mm pistol rounds in Sons of the Forest.
How to Get 9mm Pistol Ammo in Sons of the Forest
The 9mm ammo for the Compact Pistol can be found inside a cave in the northern end of the island at coordinates x6461, y3474. The ammo box can be seen right at the entrance, so you can grab it relatively quickly.
How to Get More 9mm Rounds
There’s a way to keep collecting the 9mm rounds in Sons of the Forest due to its loot respawn mechanics. This means that you can get as much ammo as you need by simply following these steps:
- Enter the northern cave and pick up 9mm ammo.
- Set up a camp right outside the cave.
- Save the game and exit.
- Load the latest save and respawn inside the camp.
- Pick up another box of 9mm ammo in the cave, where it respawned.
The Best Place to Farm 9mm Ammo
I find the best place to farm 9mm Ammo is around your game’s spawn point, inside caves, and on the beach. Any crate or plastic container has a chance to hold ammo. As such, the northern beach spawn point is my favorite. I set up camp there, making sure that I keep checking crates every time they respawn. This also puts you near the cave mentioned above. So, you can easily run over to the cave entrance, grab ammo, and continue on.
Just walking along the western half of the island gives you plenty of chances to find ammo. There’s no guarantee that crates or containers will have a certain type of ammo. Or any ammo at all. However, the spawn rate is high enough that I can’t carry more ammo after hitting a few clusters of crates.
You can repeat this process as much as you need to get an infinite amount of ammo for your pistol. And if you run out, just give your gun to Virginia, who spawns infinite ammo for herself.
