10. Dolphin Kick

The Dolphin Kick Badge is a must have for any underwater level. It lets you have a burst of speed when swimming. However, it doesn’t do anything outside of water which is why it sits here in the 10th spot.

9. Crouching High Jump

The Crouching High Jump lets you crouch to charge for a higher jump. This is exactly the same as it was in Super Mario Bros. 2. While it can be helpful for reaching higher places, I found myself not needing it as much as other badges on the list.

8. Safety Bounce

The Safety Bounce Badge will save you from falling into pits, lava, or poison swamps once per fall. Although this might sound like a great badge, I prefer the versatility of other badges that can help more with platforming.

7. Floating High Jump

The Floating High Jump Badge increases that height of your jump and lets you float for a little bit. It makes control like Luigi in some older titles. While it can be helpful in early levels of the game, there are better badges that help with your jump.

6. Parachute Cap

The Parachute Cap is one of the first badges you’ll get in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. This lets you float downward slowly while in the air. It’s the same as Peach’s floating jump in previous titles. This can help you clear gaps or give you that extra height to reach the top of the flagpole.

5. Sensor

The Sensor Badge will detect any nearby important objects like Wonder Flowers or 10-Flower coins. Some levels have well hidden collectibles that can be hard to find. This would’ve been nice to have when I played through Puzzling Park for the first time.

4. Timed High Jump

The Timed High Jump lets you perform a triple jump to reach even greeting heights. Yes, this is the same triple jump from Super Mario 64! Admittedly it’s not the most useful but you can’t deny that executing a perfect triple jump is one of the best feelings in a Mario game.

3. Wall-Climb Jump

The Wall-Climb Jump Badge lets you jump against a wall and then jump once again straight up. This is perfect for getting that verticality to reach the top of levels or flag poles. This badge is great for finding secrets that can be hard to reach.

2. Grappling Vine

The Grappling Vine Badge lets you launch a vine that can grab onto a wall. It allows you to clear large gaps with ease and you can even use it to climb up walls. This basically lets you become Spider-Man in the Mushroom Kingdom.

1. Boosting Spin Jump

Without a question of doubt the Boosting Spin Jump Badge is the best in the game. This give your spin move gain extra height basically making it into a second mid-air jump. The versatility of having an extra jump can’t go underestimated. You get verticality, horizontal movement and an easy way to save yourself all in one.
