When you recruit Pasqal and travel around for a while, you’ll eventually trigger the Classified Information quest event. This is a gathering-intel side quest that you can do alongside the Act 2 main mission. Here’s how to complete Classified Information in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.

How to Complete Classified Information in Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader

The Classified Information side quest triggers with Pasqal discovering hidden information available only to Rogue Traders through your Voidship’s cogitator. This is data Theodora Von Valancius has worked hard to hide, and you’ll uncover the mystery bit by bit on two planets.

To begin, head east of the globe-shaped star map on the deck of your ship to find IH-630 and the cogitator. Put your hand into the Cogitator’s mouth. He’ll confirm your Rogue Trader blood, notifying you of two hidden Data Banks.

Where to Find the Hidden Data Banks

The hidden Data Banks are located on Kiava Gamma and Dargonus, which you’ll visit throughout Act 2 while pursuing the main quest. You’ll need to visit both locations (Cranach and Mundus Valancius), but I highly recommend waiting for the main quest to progress to the point where you visit those locations. Each location has powerful enemies, bosses, and traps.

Classified Information on Dargonus Walkthrough

Dargonus is located in the Mundus Valancius system, found in the northern region of the Koronus Expanse. It’s the capital world of the Von Valancius dynasty. This is where you’ll find the Von Valancius Manor. To find the Data Bank hidden by Theodora, go to your bedroom in the Palace.

Completing the following steps unlocks the Data Bank with the Von Valancius coat of arms. Don’t worry if you mess up; you can restart the puzzle sequence.

  • Interact with the book on the nightstand to reveal Theodora’s saferoom.
  • Go inside and sit on the couch under the painting.
  • Choose the following options: Have a glass of wine – Pour a glass of “Flame of Purity.”
  • Read a book – Choose “Litanies of the Motive Force.”
  • Change the music – Choose “The Symphony of Honor and Duty.”

Classified Information on Kiava Gamma Walkthrough

Kiava Gamma is located in the western region of the Koronus Expanse in the Cranach system. As I’ve mentioned, you’ll naturally reach it through the main quests; Heinrix will ask to visit the planet.

Once you’re there, the Data Bank is located in the eastern reaches of the map, where you’ll fight against another Chaos Space Marine as part of the main quest.

Along the way, you’ll come across mine carts. Search them for a valve after completing an Athletics check to move the rubble. Don’t stand on the track — I found out the hard way that the cart will do heavy damage.

At the boss fight, interact with the computer, choose the “Bring your…” option, and open the massive doors with the valve. Use the terminal to disarm the gas traps and eventually request Theodora’s data with your Valancius blood. Then, you’ll get your second Data Bank.

With two Data Banks in tow, return to your Voidship and the main cogitator you interacted with before. You can decrypt the data there and uncover the mysteries of this quest without going too much into spoilers.
