TotK Rupee Farm 1: Mine and Sell Gems

The fastest and most reliable way to farm Rupees in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that I’ve found is by mining gems and selling them to vendors. Create the Boulder Hammer by Fusing any weapon with the Boulder, then use it to smash ore deposits for rare gems. The best rare ore deposit mines can be found at the following locations:

  • Sahasra Slope Cave (1337, -1195, 0567)
  • Yiga Clan Maritta Branch Cave (-0643, 2032, 0158)

You can also find gems inside treasure chests. For example, you can find diamonds inside a chest at the Observation Room of the Hyrule Castle (-0254, 0762, 0193) and another one at Abandoned Hebra Mine (-3497, 1849, -0311). Not all gems sell for the same price, but here are four of the most valuable gems you can get:

  • 1 Diamond = 500/550 Rupees
  • 1 Sapphire = 150/170 Rupees
  • 1 Ruby = 110/130 Rupees
  • 1 Topaz = 80/100 Rupees

The second, higher price in the list above is when you sell gems to Ramella, a jeweler who can be found in Goron City, located between Great Hyrule Forest and Death Mountain. But you can also sell these gems at normal shops for their default prices, which are listed first.

Tears of the Kingdom Rupee Farm 2: Play the Recall Mini Game

You’ll be amazed — as I was — at how easy you can farm Rupees by simply playing the Recall mini-game. You can play it by speaking to Ornest, who is located at the Tabantha Great Bridge (-3332, 0457, 0164). He’ll ask you to pay only 1 Rupee per attempt, but if you manage to earn a lot of points, the reward is totally worth it.

The rules of the game are really simple. All you need to do is Recall all the balls that are being thrown at you. Just make sure all the balls land on top of a platform in front of you. With a bit of practice, you’ll quickly rack up the Rupees. The rewards at the end will look like this:

  • 1-4 Points: 5 Rupees
  • 5-12 Points: 20 Rupees
  • 13-17 Points: 50 Rupees
  • 18-20 Points: 100 Rupees

Rupee Farming Method 3: Cook and Sell Meat Skewers

Some food items can be sold at a very high price in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but there’s one type of cooked meat that sells for more than even some of the gems — and that’s Meat Skewer. You can cook this dish with 5 Raw Gourmet Meat or 5 Raw Prime Meat.

This type of meat drops two wild animals: bears and moose. They typically roam cold biomes, so be sure to bring along a cold-resistant armor while you’re trying to hunt them. One of the best spots for hunting both bears and moose is Tabantha Tundra, which is an area surrounding Snowfield Stable (-1654, 2566, 0348).

If you want to kill bears and moose quickly, use a bow and shoot them in the head. If you’re accurate enough, this will kill the animals instantly. Often, these animals can drop two or three instances of Raw Gourmet Meat and Raw Prime Meat. The best part is that they respawn, so you can do this over and over again.

When you have at least five pieces of each type of meat, go to a cooking pot and cook Meat Skewers. One such cooked dish will sell for 315 Rupees at a normal shop, which makes it one of the easiest and most profitable Rupee farming methods in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Rupee Farm 4: Sell Unwanted Armor

Lastly, you’ll find and purchase various sets of armor in TotK, and you’ll eventually have a whole collection of armor pieces that you may never equip again. Fortunately, you can sell them to a merchant named Beedle, who can be found at the Kara Kara Bazaar, Gerudo Desert (-3291, -2512, 0143).

Here are some of the most expensive sets of armor that you can sell to him:

  • Barbarian Armor = 2,850 Rupees
  • Glide Armor = 2,250 Rupees
  • Phantom Armor = 1,800 Rupees
