Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Launch Trailer Pokes Fun At Destiny

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launches today sans moon wizards.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launched today and released a new trailer to commemorate the occasion. It starts out with Handsome Jack giving a mini-monologue before it cuts into a character introduction sequence with “The Final Countdown” playing in the background. The trailer goes on to list various “features” of the game like “Five hundred ice puns” and “3 gajillion laser guns” before ending with a look at the game’s packaging and a call to pre-order for a challenge map (which it’s now too late to pre-order for, so you can just ignore that part).

Of particular note is where the game advertises “Zero moon wizards” before showing Claptrap in a Gandalf inspired hat, a pretty clear jab at Destiny and the infamous Peter Dinklage line that spawned a meme.

I’ve never been much of a Borderlands fan myself, but I do have a soft spot for gunfights on the moon. If you want to check the game out, you can get it now in America on Steam, Xbox 360, or PS3. European fans will have to wait until the 17th.
