Why a documentary?

Tina Summerford, Director of Programming had a few words on the scale of the project, saying:

“How do you remake a title that is so beloved by fans?  How do you decide what must stay the same and what can be updated?”

She also says why they wanted to create the documentary, saying:

“It takes an army to build any game and we realized this process was one that the Halo Nation rarely gets a glimpse into, We hit the road to capture the process from top to bottom, talking to all of the key players who helped bring Halo 2: Anniversary into the next gen and giving our fans unprecedented access to this process.”

The documentary will feature interviews with many big names in Halo, including Bonnie Ross, Frank O’Connor, Dan Ayoub, and Phil Spencer.

There will also be a number of interviews with the original Halo 2 team, writer Joseph Staten, multiplayer designer Max Hoberman, and composer Marty O’Donnell.

Master Chief is looking a little spotty.

How, where, and when can I watch it?

The documentary will premier on October 31st on Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

With a number of ways to get the content, everyone should be able to see it. You can download the full documentary for free on Xbox Video. Watch it on the Halo Channel on November 11th. And finally, you can jump onto Xbox’s Twitch account at the following times:
