Fallout 76 Cultist Locations: The Best Places to Find Cultists

Looking for Cultists in Fallout 76? Here's where you will find them.

Chasing down Cultists in Fallout 76 can be a drag if you don’t know where to look. Though they’re featured in all sorts of challenges season after season, finding members in the Cult of the Mothman isn’t always easy. I’ll show you the best places to hunt them.

Where is the Best Place to Find Cultists in Fallout 76?

Primarily, you’ll find Cultists around Point Pleasant, the pre-war site of many Mothman sightings. This is where the original Cult of the Mothman started before it moved to Lucky Hole Mine to survive a catastrophic flood and then later, the dropping of the bombs. Cultist settlements or camps can be found on the map with the cultist icon: a skull with ritual dressings and horns.

Unnamed Cultist Locations

Beyond the Cultist locations detailed above, there are also some places where these followers of the Mothman may appear. However, in my experience — as well as that of plenty of other Fallout 76 players — there’s a bit of RNG involved here. I’ve visited these locations and been overrun with maniacs, and I’ve been to these places and found nothing. One thing’s for sure: they don’t appear on your map.

  • Altar on the southern edge of the Ash Heap.
  • Small camp and suicide ritual at Old Mold Quarry.
  • Shrine South of the Crater.
  • Shrine East of Bleeding Kate’s Grindhouse.
  • Shrine East of Transmission Station 1AT-U03.
  • Sacrifice Altar West of the Billings Homestead.

Former Cultist Locations

These former camps of the Cult of the Mothman are great for those who want to dig more into the lore of Fallout 76. However, don’t rely on them to find actual members for dailies and weeklies.

  • Big Maw.
  • Helvetia.
  • Ingram Mansion.
  • Landview Lighthouse.

Cultist Prophet: Hunting Cultists During The Mothman Equinox

Cultists can also be encountered during the seasonal event “The Mothman Equinox,” where the two sects of the Cult duke it out. Daily Ops — Cultist will pit you against a variety of members, including the Cultist Prophet, who can only be encountered during the Daily Ops or “The Mothman Equinox.”
