Tower of Fantasy: How to Change Your Player Avatar

Having trouble changing your Avatar in Tower of Fantasy. This guide will show you how.

Besides the fashion you choose for your in-game character or the skin you select for your Simulacra to wear, the primary way other players will know you is through your profile Avatar. It acts as your face whenever you join a multiplayer lobby, chat with other players, or interact with them outside the overworld in Tower of Fantasy.

Changing your Avatar is straightforward, but it’s not well explained. Showing how it’s done is what we’re here to do with this guide.

Modifying Your Avatar

Changing your character’s Avatar is simple enough, but the functionality is somewhat hidden in the Character menu. There are two ways to access it:

  • By pressing the C key on your Keyboard
  • Enter the Weapon, Simulacra, or Backpack menus and select the Character menu at the bottom left of the screen.

Once in the Character menu, you should see your currently equipped profile pic above your stats, level, Satiety, etc. Click or tap on the image to open the Avatar submenu, which shows all your available pictures and Avatar frames.

How to Get Avatars

You unlock the majority of the different pictures by giving gifts to your Simulacra until you reach 200 Awakening Points, when you earn the ability to equip that Simulacra’s Avatar. Others, like Shirli and Kitty Coast, are only available through real-world money purchases or events (respectively, in this case).

Kitty Coast is part of the Summer Seabreeze event running from August 23 to August 30, for instance, the same event in which you can nab the Seaside Vacation outfit. Frames are special outlines that accentuate your image proper, and you unlock them by progressing the story, buying a premium pack, or participating in limited events.

There’s no limitation on how many times you can change your Avatar once you’ve unlocked one of the options unless you’re in an equipment-locked activity. There’s no restriction anywhere else.

That’s everything you need to know about changing your Avatar in Tower of Fantasy. Check out some of our other articles on the game, including how to get the Maglev Stalker, all Constellation locations, or how to open Singularity Rocks. Our guides hub has even more.
