Everything We Know About Super Smash Bros. on Wii U

Here's a compilation of everything we know about the upcoming release of Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U this holiday season.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is the fourth entry in the highly popular Super Smash Bros. series for Nintendo. This series is a crossover of fighting games, featuring the most iconic characters, stages and items throughout Nintendo's rich history. Characters like Mario, Link, Yoshi, Sonic, and Pikachu all duke it out in an awesome free-for-all type contest. Here's what we know so far.

This post is broken into sections: Character Customization, Characters Confirmed, Game Bundle, Wii U Stages Confirmed, Assist Trophies Returning , Assist Trophies Newcomers , Amiibos, Amiibos Confirmed, Collectibles, and Items Available in Game.

Character Customization:

Hitting opponents increases damage percentages, so the more damage, the farther they go flying. Powerful smash attacks send opponents completely off stage. If you get launched off a stage, you can use jumps and special moves to get yourself back onto the stage to continue fighting.

You can collect custom parts like special attacks and use them to customize your character. Each character has four special attacks: standard special, side special, up special, and down special. There are three variations (also known as spin-off variations) for each direction with two classifications for special attacks: basic and custom.

Mii fighters and Palutena don't have spin-off variations but have unique types of attacks. You can't use custom parts playing with Anyone online, only with Friends. Mii fighters aren't available to use to fight with Anyone online, but can be used with Friends online as well.

Equippable items are types of custom parts that can be used to power-up fighters. You can equip up to 3 items at a time. These items are in categories of attack, defense, and speed. You collect various items in the different game modes. These same items may have the same name but their performance will be different.

Mii fighters can be created from three types: brawlers, swordfighters, and gunners. They each have 12 types of special attacks (4 directions x 3 variations). With custom parts, you can change their hats and clothing. Mii fighters cannot be used with Anyone online but will be enabled with Friends online.
