If your group of friends is anything like mine, getting them all to both agree to and pay for a particular game is harder than herding feral cats. Maybe you're in a similar situation or maybe you're just on the prowl for some good multiplayer games to play in Steam Remote Play. Whatever the case, we've compiled a sizable list to help you out.

The good thing about Remote Play is that only one player in the group needs to own the game; the rest can try it out for free — at least in its current beta period.

Let's choo choo on through, and hopefully, find you and your friend(s) a game you can play.

Terraria

Price: $9.99
Steam Store link

You'll see this game mentioned on just about every list of co-op games. This co-op sandbox-adventure has loads of content for any group of friends to go to town on. Terraria has stayed on the top played Steam games for 7 years for good reason.

Grim Dawn

Price: $24.99
Steam Store link

If you're looking to scratch your ARPG itch, you could do a lot worse than Grim Dawn. Even without the expansion, you can find dozens of hours of whackin' and lootin' in Grim Dawn. If you're not too keen on its darker aesthetic but do want an ARPG, the next option may be more down your alley.

Torchlight 2

Price: $19.99
Steam Store link

It may be older than Grim Dawn, but Torchlight 2 still has a lot of staying power if you've never given the game a chance. There is more content to be found in Grim Dawn but Torchlight 2 has a robust array of mods available, including content, quality of life, and classes. This is still a solid buy today in 2018, and it can be modded for up to 8-player multiplayer.

Castle Crashers

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

Another staple co-op game sure to be on pretty much every co-op list, Castle Crashers is the poster boy for co-op beat'em ups. This is an easy one for all ages and kill levels to get into and have fun with.

BattleBlock Theater

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

Another game from The Behemoth, the same studio behind Castle Crashers. BattleBlock Theater's campaign is completely co-op and it also features a healthy selection of hectic PvP modes, for when you want to prove your better than your friends once and for all.

Rocket League

Price: $19.99
Steam Store link

Before you say, "Ugh, no. Too mainstream," take a breath and consider Rocket League as a co-op game with a low barrier of entry and a whole lot of speed. Rocket League may not be your first choice, but it's an easy game to get a group of people to agree to hop onto for a quick round.

Risk of Rain

Price: $9.99
Steam Store link

Risk of Rain is a co-op game with an unquenchable bloodlust. Though not for everyone due to its extreme difficulty, Risk of Rain is an easy buy for roguelite fans or groups of friends who hate life. It's a hard game and it will knock you down a peg with ease, whether you've got 1 hour or 300 hours worth of gameplay logged.

Risk of Rain 2 is pretty good, too. It's currently $19.99 on Steam

Beat Hazard

Price: $9.99
Steam Store link

This one always seems to slip through the cracks since it's been blessing Steam with its presence for eight years now, but despite its age, Beat Hazard continues to be a recommended purchase for co-op play, providing you and your friend(s) are good at shmups. Beat Hazard lets you use your own music or one of many radio stations to generate enemies, which is what makes this one so unique.

Ultimate Chicken Horse

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

Playing this game with a group of friends is an exercise in sadism. You and up to three other friends will be tasked with creating and completing the stages in Ultimate Chicken Horse, and you can bet at least one (or even all) of you will make them nearly impossible to beat, in the name of being the better platformer player. Ridiculously fun and honestly not as enraging as it sounds.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

An outlier among the other games in this collection, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes only requires one person to buy the game. There's a reason for that: Only one player is allowed to see the screen at a time, so only one can directly defuse the bomb. The other players must tell the defuser what to do based on the instructions in the manual.

If it sounds a little convoluted, that's because it is by design. Can you and your friends defuse a bomb? Maybe, maybe not. But you can certainly yell at each other trying.

Don't Starve Together

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

Don't Starve has stood as one of the more accessible survival games over the years, and the multiplayer expansion Don't Starve Together may be an even more enjoyable game than the base with the Reign of Giants expansion. Together contains both, plus the ability to die in the forest with your friends. If  as in my case — you tried the original game but didn't enjoy it much, you may still find this fun.

Left 4 Dead 2

Price: $9.99
Steam Store link

You may be dissuaded from picking Left 4 Dead 2 up based on its age. It's been out for 11 years now, it seems like everyone's been through the game. Why bother? If you haven't played it yet, this is your reminder to pick up L4D2 to play with your friends. It's still fun to this day, but it's best played with friends. Any community for a decade-old game is bound to be elitist and this game is no exception.

PAYDAY 2

Price: $9.99
Steam Store link

If you don't play PAYDAY 2, it's possible the only thing you've heard about it was the hubbub about microtransactions a few years back. It's been a long time since then though, and the game is a solid heister. You don't need to play the first game to dive right into this one and, provided your group can cooperate, there are hours upon hours of heists for you to tackle.

Dungeon of The Endless

Price: $11.99
Steam Store link

How about something a little different? Amplitude's Endless universe has expanded this way and that, with "that" being Dungeon of the Endless, a pseudo-tower defense roguelike. In this, players must hoard resources and expand based on the ever-increasing threats of the depth of the dungeon. A single round in this game can take several hours and it is very hard, but if your group's into roguelikes you could do a lot worse.

Borderlands 2

Price: $19.99
Steam Store link

Borderlands 2 is another old staple that still holds up today, especially multiplayer. Pushing through this game with friends is satisfying as firefights are intense and the weapon system is a ARPG-style lootfest. Not many games age as well as this one -- you can come back years later and still have a ton of fun.

Golf With Your Friends

Price: $7.99
Steam Store link

If you just want a game to pay a little attention to while chatting, this is an easy choice. Golf With Your Friends isn't exactly rolling in content variety and only contains 7 levels with 18 holes, but things are kept fresh through golf ball shapes and game modes. A very easy game to just sit back and play while having a couple beers and a laugh.

Human: Fall Flat

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

How about something a little less-in-your-face about its silliness? We've got some pretty quirky games listed here, but they're all a bit more obvious about it than the cooperative physics-based puzzle solving found in Human: Fall Flat. The one downside here is that there are not a lot of stages, but it's a good deal at this price.

Project Zomboid

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

Don't let this game's graphics and the year it entered Steam Early Access fool you: Project Zomboid is a fleshed-out survival sandbox with hundreds of potential hours of gameplay, with continued support from its developer as it slowly shambles toward full release. If you and your group can accept the high learning curve, you can have a great time with this game.

Portal 2

Price: $9.99
Steam Store link

The Portal games are famous for a lot of reasons and one of those reasons is (Spoilers!) the stellar co-op campaign. If you haven't played Portal 2 and you want a game to play with a friend, you may as well throw the $2 at Valve and see what all the hubbub is about.

Barony

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

An other roguelike to add to the pile, Barony is the closest to a traditional roguelike of any of the games listed here. It looks old, it feels old, and it plays like an old game. That's perfectly fine: You'll be hard-pressed to find another game that takes the classic roguelike formula, turns it 3D and realtime, and allows for online co-op. This one's pretty niche but you're in for a good time if you're comfortable with classic roguelikes.

Endless Legend

Price: $29.99
Steam Store link

Though Endless Space is currently also on sale, I would recommend Endless Legend over it for its similarities to the Civilization series and its overall fun factor. This is a more traditional-style 4X game. Expand, form alliances, wage wars -- it's up to you. A worthy strategy addition to most gaming groups on a budget.

Resident Evil 5

Price: $19.99
Steam Store link

You don't hear much about Resident Evil 5 or 6 for a few reasons, but none of those reasons equate to them not being fun with friends. Resident Evil 5 is often overlooked in favor of 6 for co-op play because it retains the semi-tank controls found in its predecessor, but if you and a friend can adjust to that control style this is an intense and worthwhile co-op action game.

Resident Evil 6

Price: $29.99
Steam Store link

Like its predecessor, Resident Evil 6 is best played with a friend. Unlike its predecessor, it's got more modern, fluid controls and a whole lot of QTEs. This one is over-the-top in about every regard, to the extent I can't help but find it silly each playthrough. If you like classic Resi games, go with 5. If you can't deal with the antiquated controls, go with 6. The decision is as simple as that.

7 Days to Die

Price: $24.99
Steam Store link

One of the first titles in the survival game wave that paved the way for games such as Rust and ARK: Survival Evolved, 7 Days to Die still stands as one of the most played games on Steam and is just as fun now as when it came out. As with the two mentioned, 7 Days to Die allows you a great deal of freedom in your efforts to survive. Break, use, and do whatever you want to ensure your survival in a world overrun by over 50 types of zombies.

Orcs Must Die! 2

Price: $14.99
Steam Store link

The original Orcs Must Die! set off a chain reaction of action-tower defense clones, some good and some bad, but none really hold up to the sequel. Orcs Must Die! 2 is an improvement over the first game in almost every way, and has the added bonus of online multiplayer. It's easy to get into, easy to wrap your head around, and easy to spend too many hours in.

Tabletop Simulator

Price: $19.99
Steam Store link

This is a bit of a strange one since Tabletop Simulator itself isn't a game, but a mini-platform for tabletop gaming. The amount of games available via Tabletop Simulator are nearly endless, making this a fantastic purchase for any static group of friends who have trouble deciding on what to play or want to play board games without having to pick up after themselves.

---

These are definitely not all of the co-op games you can get for relatively cheap on Steam, but these are some I can personally recommend. I hope you've found at least one game you find worthy of your Steam library.

Steam Summer Sale - Bring Back Flash Deals! https://www.gameskinny.com/igna5/steam-summer-sale-bring-back-flash-deals https://www.gameskinny.com/igna5/steam-summer-sale-bring-back-flash-deals Wed, 05 Jul 2017 10:26:38 -0400 Zantallion

Everyone's favorite wallet scourge is back. This year's Steam Summer Sale has kicked off, and with it comes great deals on even greater games. Recommendations are cropping up all over the Internet in an effort to persuade you to snap up the best bang for your buck, but I'd like to move away from recommendations and discuss something a little different.

Every year the Steam Summer Sale rolls around, it demolishes wallets and savings, but this year something is missing -- the Flash Deals. Whenever they make an appearance they regularly add to the excitement and fun of the event. Knowing that a game just out of reach could finally be yours the next time that clock ticks over is a tantalizing prospect that always keeps every gamer's wallet open. Flash Deals not only deserve to come back, they would also drastically improve what many gamers consider an extra Christmas.

If you're a Summer Sale veteran, you probably remember Flash Deals. If this is your first rodeo, though, Flash Deals are timed offers during which a specified set of games either go on sale when they originally weren't, or get an even bigger discount than normal.

Take the Steam Summer sale from 2015 for instance, where great games like 7 Days to Die and Dishonored had some of their biggest discounts ever. Thanks to Flash Deals, the overall price cut across the entire Summer Sale in 2015 was higher than in the following year. 2015's sales ended up being around 66.7% off, whereas 2016's sales ended up being only 50% off overall. It doesn't take a genius to see that 66.7% off is obviously a much better saving than 50%, so the omission of Flash Deals has hurt one of gaming's best sales just for this reason alone.

However, it wasn't just the deals themselves that Flash Deals offered. It also gave gamers the chance to actually provide direct input on the sales. Normally, the games that go on sale are completely random, with no indication beforehand as to what's going on sale when, but the Community's Choice gave the Steam community a chance to actively participate in the sale themselves. By allowing people to vote on which deals they'd like to see, this section of the Flash Deals took the personal views of the community into account, letting them feel like they are playing a real part in how the sale worked.

It also paired perfectly with Wishlist Notifications. Getting a Flash Deal email about that one game you've been waiting on for as long as you can remember was a huge rush that many would love to see again. When a game is out of your price range, an extremely limited-time offer with a huge discount is just what you need to end the agonizing wait.

Flash Deals left the Steam Summer Sale last year and haven't returned since, but I argue that the Summer Sale just doesn't feel complete without them. Timed opportunities are the perfect way to drive demand, as we've already alluded to, and having the timer count down in front of someone who's on the fence is much more likely to push them to a purchase.  Flash Deals added so much to the excitement of Steam Summer Sales, and losing them is such a shame. I for one support Flash Deals coming back next year, and I'm sure I'm not the only one in that camp.

Are you a Flash Deals fanatic? Do you think they need to make a return? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

The Steam Summer Sale is here again. And as always, the gaming community has come together to empty their wallets as their most desired games go on sale.

If you're a fan of dungeon crawling, you're in luck with this year's sale. There's a bevy of wonderful dungeon crawlers seeing serious deals this year. Here are five of the best you can add to your collection for under $10.

Ziggurat

Regular Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $3.74

Ziggurat takes the best qualities of both FPS and roguelikes and combines them together into one great game. Rather than using guns, you use different staffs and spells to blast your way through randomly-generated levels fighting hordes of minions. Check out our Ziggurats review for more info on this one.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Regular Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $7.49

The Binding of Isaac is a game that needs no introduction. But if you somehow don't already own this game, now's the perfect chance. A take on the biblical story of Isaac and Abraham, Isaac's mother hears a supposed message from God that tells her to sacrifice her son to him. Isaac, hearing this, flees into the caverns under his house to escape the murderous matriarch.

Crypt of the NecroDancer

Regular Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $2.99

Crypt of the NecroDancer is a dungeon crawler with a twist: it's also a rhythm game. Every action you take is in time with the music, even moving and fighting. As is expected of such a game, the soundtrack is incredible -- but if you somehow get bored of its tunes, you can even play to your own music MP3s. Its pixel art is top-notch too, and it's overall well worth your purchase -- especially so now that it's on sale at a steal of a price.

Victor Vran

Regular Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $9.99

Victor Vran is a title in the vein of favorites like Diablo, in which you and three friends control a party of four characters as you quest together. But where many games in the genre fall back on the age old trope of grinding EXP, Victor Vran instead has a much more open approach by allowing you to set the difficulty of different areas yourself -- meaning that you can choose what pace you want to take.

Get Victor Vran on Steam

Enter the Gungeon

Regular Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $7.49

For those who like a little more shock and awe in their dungeon crawler, Enter The Gungeon is exactly what the doctor ordered. Taking cues from bullet hell games, Enter The Gungeon is fast-paced, brightly colored, and (as it's name implies) chock full of guns. You'll need some pretty good reflexes to get through this one -- but if that's your style, Gungeon is for you.

Stellaris is a grand strategy game and slow RTS with a system similar to Civilization 5. It takes place in space, and you send your fleets to conquer enemy galaxies and planets. You must also develop planets within the galaxies through settlements and space-based improvements. It has a slight learning curve, but it is definitely worth your time.

With the Steam Summer Sale in full swing, it can be hard to know which games you want to buy because they are good and which you want to buy because they're on sale. And when you're looking at a genre as over-saturated as the strategy genre, the distinction can become even more unclear.

\n

There's a wide variety of strategy games on the market, from turn-based to real-time, historical to futuristic. Strategy games can go as far as the mind can imagine -- and there are some crazy games out there. That's why a lot of games in the genre are either amazing or absolutely horrible.

\n

To help you avoid the horrible ones, here is a guide to the top five strategy games you should own by the end of this year's Steam Summer Sale.

Instead of a dungeon, the game takes place in a functioning, procedurally generated city full of citizens trying to go about their daily lives. There is no set way to play the game, so you can complete the missions how you see fit. You can avoid combat altogether, or bring the pain to those who get in your way.

Few gaming genres are as popular as the platformer. Nowhere is this more evident than on Steam, where a vast library of these games -- many of dubious quality -- are literally just a few clicks away. But for all of the dime-a-dozen Mario clones out there, a few stand above the rest. And with the Steam Summer Sale underway, there's never been a better time to pick them up.

Here are just a few platformers you can get right now for $10 or less.

Super Meat Boy

Standard Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $2.84
Steam Rating: Very Positive

One of the most iconic platformers outside of the plumber himself, Super Meat Boy is the creation of one Edmund McMillen. It should be noted that many platformers are reasonably challenging, but not overly so. This game is another story.

Super Meat Boy is a game you should play if you want your platforming skills pushed to the absolute limit. It demands mastery over the precise and responsive controls if you want to come out on top. Luckily, when death comes, you barely need to wait a second before jumping back into the fray.

Rogue Legacy

Standard Price: $14.99
Sale Price:
$2.99
Steam Rating: Very Positive

A more recent game, Rogue Legacy is both a well-polished platformer and a type of game called a roguelike (well, technically a roguelite, but that's a debate for another time). That means that every time you play, the levels are randomly generated -- and if you die, it's back to the beginning. It's not as hard as it sounds, though, as you gradually unlock upgrades that persist between attempts and make things easier.

One of the most fun aspects of the game is that when you start a new attempt (or a "run"), you choose from a few randomly generated characters with their own classes, and special "traits" that include things like color blindness, dyslexia, and more.

Hollow Knight

Standard Price: $14.99

$9.89
Steam Rating: Very Positive

Hollow Knight just came out this year, but has already made a huge impression with its engaging, Metroidvania-style gameplay and gorgeous hand-drawn art style. If you're a fan of games like Castlevania and Metroid, which gradually let you explore more and more of their vast worlds as you unlock new abilities, this is one worth checking out.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition

Standard Price: $19.99
Sale Price:
$9.99
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive

If Hollow Knight sounded appealing to you, Ori and the Blind Forest should also be a must-have. Another beautiful Metroidvania game, this one has some truly breathtaking moments. It also recently had a sequel announced at this year's E3, so now is a great time to play it if you haven't already.

Cave Story+

Standard Price: $14.99
Sale Price:
$10.04
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive

Okay, technically this game is currently a few cents over ten bucks, but we had to make a special exception for a truly special game. Cave Story is, simply put, one of the most legendary indie games of all time, with its addicting gameplay, charming story, and lovable characters. Its enhanced edition, Cave Story+, was released on Steam in 2011 and remains the definitive way to play the game with its updated graphics and extra content. Do yourself a favor and give it a try -- this is one story you don't want to miss.

It's that time of year again. Steam is overflowing with discounts on games of all shapes and sizes. The Steam Summer Sale is here until July 5th, and it's high time to take advantage of all of the deals.

Nier: Automata

Standard Price: $59.99
Sale Price: $41.99

Looking for some good old-fashioned action? Look no further than Nier: Automataa sci-fi dystopian epic. There are few developers that can make combat feel quite as satisfying as Platinum Games, and you'll absolutely feel their level of polish as you hack and slash through the enemy robots that this game sets in your path.

Get Nier: Automata on Steam

Stardew Valley

Standard Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $8.99

Action is fine and all, but maybe you'd like something a bit more relaxing. Stardew Valley hearkens back to the Harvest Moon style of farming simulators by giving you a fully realized, pixelated world to play in, and a wide cast of characters that you'll get to know as you go about your day-to-day life in the town of Stardew Valley. Be sure to keep your eye on the time while playing -- this is a game you can truly lose yourself in.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Standard Price: $19.99
Sale Price:
$3.99

It can be tough for video games to get you invested in their stories, but Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has a unique approach that makes your experience feel truly personal. The much-hailed Nemesis System randomly generates dynamic villains that develop on their own through random events you can participate in, and being able to avenge your own death on an orc that cut you down is an incredibly cool experience. The stories told through this system will stay with you for a long time.

With its sequel coming out in October, there's never been a better time to pick up this game.

Hollow Knight

Standard Price: $14.99
Sale Price:
$9.89

Maybe you're looking for a gorgeous indie experience. If so, we highly recommend Hollow KnightIt's a Metroidvania-style platformer with a great soundtrack, responsive gameplay, cool bosses, and a beautiful art style which is animated completely by hand. This is a game you don't want to miss.

Get Hollow Knight on Steam

DOOM

Standard Price: $29.99
Sale Price:
$14.99

Sometimes you want a subtle but charming experience like Stardew Valley or Hollow Knight. And sometimes you want to blast your way through hordes of demons on Mars as violently as possible with an increasingly ridiculous arsenal of guns. DOOM knows not to take itself too seriously, and there are few games that can match its addictive, old-school FPS combat.

Get DOOM on Steam

Spelunky

Standard Price: $14.99
Sale Price:
$2.24

Up for some classic rouge-like action? Spelunky has got you covered. It might not be easy to get through this difficult platformer, but it is satisfying as you gradually learn more and more about the game's mechanics and explore randomly generated levels. Careful, though -- if you die, you're sent all the way back to the beginning.

Get Spelunky on Steam

South Park: The Stick of Truth

Standard Price: $29.99
Sale Price:
$7.49

Based on the classic TV show, South Park: The Stick of Truth is an (extremely) irreverent comedy RPG. It should be noted that this game is very NSFW, but if that isn't a problem for you, you'll find that this game succeeds at both being a well-polished and easy to pick up RPG and at fully capturing the spirit of the show.

Get South Park: The Stick of Truth on Steam

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series

Standard Price: $24.99
Sale Price:
$16.74

Want a game with an elaborate, branching narrative? Are you (like most people) a fan of Guardians of the Galaxy? The Telltale Series takes what you love about the films and puts you in control of the action. You get to decide where the story goes, and being put in control of these beloved characters is a hard selling point to resist.

Get Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series on Steam

Darkest Dungeon

Standard Price: $24.99
Sale Price:
$9.99

Darkest Dungeon is not a forgiving game. It fully embraces a dark, gothic theme, and brilliantly focuses not on the dungeon crawling, turn-based combat your party is going through, but instead on your heroes' rapidly deteriorating psychological states. Losing a party member to madness or hopelessness is as common an occurrence as one dying, so this is not a game for the faint of heart.

Get Darkest Dungeon on Steam

Dark Souls III

Standard Price: $59.99
Sale Price:
$23.99

The Dark Souls series is renowned for its difficulty. It's not a challenge you put yourself into lightly -- these games are a commitment. However, once you're able to put yourself in the proper mindset, you'll find that few games match the incredible combat which, once you master, becomes immensely satisfying. And of course, there are few feelings like conquering one of Dark Souls III's epic bosses.

Get Dark Souls III on Steam

SOMA

Standard Price: $29.99
Sale Price:
$8.99

Up for a bit of horror? SOMA is an underwater sci-fi adventure that brings plenty of thrills. Developed by the creators of Amnesia, it tells a high-concept tale of people whose minds have been converted into software and copied into robotic bodies. The game asks plenty of thought-provoking questions on what it means to be human, all while chasing you down with creatures straight out of nightmares.

#5 Revelations 2012
\n

It's Left 4 Dead but during the proposed Mayan apocalypse that would occur at the end of their calendar that everyone was crazy about a few years ago, and you have to stop it. That doesn't sound like a bad concept to me, and yet Revelations 2012 managed to be dull. It's not that trainwreck kind of bad like some of the other games on this list. You can play it.

It's just... why would you, when there are better, similar games out there? You already have Left 4 Dead and its sequel, which have an AI specifically designed to make sure you have a tense session every time. If you're digging something more melee orientated, you have Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide. The setting starts to fade when you're acquiring futuristic weaponry and armor by the end of the game.

\n

Revelations 2012 will run you $2.49. It's not actually on sale. Perhaps Dark Artz Entertainment just wants everyone to forget about it.

4. Dinner Date
\n

So there's been an influx of games that barely care about gameplay, and are much more concerned with the story. Some examples would be Gone Home and Firewatch. And while those are fine experienced for the crowds that enjoy them, there are some that don't really deliver on anything.

Dinner Date, by Stout Games, is one of those. You get to experience the thrill of being a man waiting for his date to show up to dinner. And waiting. And waiting. While that's a simplification of the meaning of the game, my issue is that there's simply no payoff. Nothing happens. At least in other 'walking simulator' games there's a climax or conclusion.

The issue from a purely storytelling perspective is just that nothing changes for our main character. You hear him complaining about his situation, and that's it. Nothing shows up to change it, despite the game teasing the notion. You can't even change his course, your actions in the game are inconsequential to the internal monologue. Even slice of life stories have characters making decisions. It feels like it would have been more suited to being a short film than a video game.

\n

It also only lasts 20 minutes.

\n

Usually you'd be shelling out $3.99 for Dinner Date, but the sale has it down to $1.79.

"},{"image":"http://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/e_sharpen:150,f_auto,fl_lossy,q_80/v1/gameskinny/7295a3f5a5ece4efe582545dfb9e786e.jpg","thumb":"http://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/e_sharpen:150,f_auto,fl_lossy,q_80/v1/gameskinny/7295a3f5a5ece4efe582545dfb9e786e.jpg","type":"youtube","id":"9060","description":"
3. Infestation: Survivor Stories Classic
\n

If you're a fan of DayZ, then you've likely taken note of the many ripoffs that populated Steam after it gained a large fanbase. Infestation: Survivor Stories Classic is one of those. Stranded in a large, persistent world with a number of other players, you must scavenge for weapons, ammunition, food, supplies, and so on. All of which are in limited supply, and other players are probably going to try and kill you for them (or just shoot you on sight).

Though its developers OP Productions LLC didn't go after any critics, it's still been up to some shifty stuff. Originally the game's 'terms and conditions' text was identical to that of Riot's League of Legends. Also, this game used to be called The War Z, clearly an attempt to bank on people mistaking it for DayZ. Though it was probably it was changed in an attempt to distance itself from its shameful reputation, OP Productions LLC gave the official explanation that they didn't want copyright confusion with World War Z.

\n

As if they wouldn't have loved that.

\n

Normally Infestation: Survivor Stories Classic goes for $19.99, but this summer sale has it with a whopping 90% off, making it only $1.99. Don't take the bait!

2. Day One: Garry's Incident
\n

A survival game where your character, Garry, is trapped on an island with a population of natives, and is forced to fend for himself. There's a mix of supernatural horror along with the terror of just trying to stay alive in a very hostile environment. The sad thing about Day One: Gary's Incident is that you can see the ambition in the game. Wild Game Studio clearly wanted the game to be a grand experience,, but one of the game's chief issues is a lack of optimization. Getting it to run at a decent framerate is a challenge, and it doesn't look good enough to deserve its taxation on your computer.

Similar to what happened with The Slaughtering Grounds, Wild Game Studio decided to go to town on any critics on youtube, most notably TotalBiscuit, The Cynical Brit.

\n

Normally Day One: Garry's Incident will run you $2.99, but during this summer sale it's $1.49

1. The Slaughtering Grounds
\n

A zombie apocalypse shooter with randomly generated environments. Sounds cookie cutter -- and it is. You go through towns, shoot zombies you get the drill. What's striking about this game in particular though is just how bad some (all) of the in-game assets are. You can see the white outlines on the blood from where they photoshopped it out of an image. The weapons are generally blocky, the environments flat, the zombies have varying artstyles, and the shooting is wonky at best. This is likely due to most of said assets coming from the Unity asset store, and there being very little original content within The Slaughtering Grounds.

The worst part is how defensive Digital Homiside is of the game. For a while it was heavily criticized on youtube, prompting Digital Homiside to try to shut down as many videos as possible.

\n

Normally The Slaughtering Ground is $0.99, but currently it's on sale for $0.49.

Steam currently has thousands of games, and if you browse the 'new releases' section of the store page, you'll notice that the vast majority of them do not come from top-tier publishers. Some of them are little gems to be discovered, but then there's the ones that, for one reason or another, are just terrible.

\n

Even when you know they're bad, there's the part of you tempted to say "it's 90% off, it's only a dollar now, might as well". For these games, please, don't. Just avoid them. There's a lot of unscrupulous companies trying to get you to buy junk during the happy hour of the Steam market.

\n

With that being said, here's 5 games you should dodge this Summer Sale.

1. Undertale
\n

Undertale is one of the most enjoyable indie games that I've had the pleasure of playing. It's a fun, quirky, adventure game with bullet hell mechanics. The character's are all interesting and likable, and the soundtrack is full of catchy songs.

\n

The player is a human who's fallen into the Underground -- a world inhabited by monsters. As you try to find your way back home, will you choose to fight or befriend them? This is a game where your choices actually matter. Characters' behaviors and actions will change according to your action.

3. Stardew Valley
\n

Stardew Valley is a farming simulator game with elements of adventure and exploration, and is heavily inspired by Harvest Moon. The game is developed by ConcernedApe, and published by Chucklefish Games. If you like Harvest Moon, you will definitely enjoy Stardew Valley.

\n

The game starts off with the player moving to start their new life in Stardew Valley on a farm that they inherited from their grandfather. There's much more to do than just farming. There's fishing, exploring mines and dungeons, make friends with townspeople, and even get married. The unique thing about marriage is that players can even marry characters of the same gender.

Slime Rancher is a sandbox animal raising game, where the player raises different slime creatures on their ranch to make money. The player plays as Beatrix LeBeau, a rancher who lives on the Far, Far Range -- a place that is a thousand light years away on Earth and inhabited by slimes.

\n

Build up and upgrade your ranch to raise your cute slimes. Slimes drop plorts, which can be traded in for money to get more upgrades. Explore the land, forage for food to feed your slimes, catch slimes in the wild, and even discover new types of slimes. 5. Life is Strange
\n

I'm not sure if Life is Strange counts as an indie game, but it sure feels like one. It is developed by Dontnod and published by Square Enix. If you like Telltale Games, you will enjoy Life is Strange, since it uses a similar episodic story and decision-focused gameplay style.

\n

The game is a coming of age story of a high school girl named Max Caulfield and the strange events surrounding Arcadia Bay, the small town she grew up in. Max left the town around the age of 13 to move to Seattle, then returned to Arcadia Bay for high school. There her adventure begins as she discovers that she has a newfound superpower.

\n

The story is excellent, engaging, and full of twists. As much as I enjoyed the journey of Life is Strange, I felt that the brilliant writing of the game went to waste with it's rushed, cliched ending that dismisses all of the player's choices and leaves the players with more questions than answers. While there are many fans that say that the ending makes sense for the game, I didn't feel that way.

\n

Despite the poorly done ending, the rest of the game is amazing and filled with feels. The characters and story are very realistic and even relatable, and it has a pretty sweet soundtrack. If you're ready for an emotional roller coaster, you should try out Life is Strange.

Outlaw Sectors DLC Come to Sins of a Solar Empire https://www.gameskinny.com/ju6xz/outlaw-sectors-dlc-come-to-sins-of-a-solar-empire https://www.gameskinny.com/ju6xz/outlaw-sectors-dlc-come-to-sins-of-a-solar-empire Thu, 23 Jun 2016 17:24:27 -0400 ChrisDeCoster

New DLC has been released for Sins of a Solar Empire, the popular space strategy game from Stardock Entertainment and Ironclad Games.  The DLC, titled Outlaw Sectors, contains a ton of new content for veterans and those picking the game up during the Steam summer sale alike.

As one can guess, Outlaw Sectors deals primarily with the less savory aspects of intergalactic relations, namely space pirates and smugglers.  Pirates can now raid multiple players at once, making them an even deadlier threat, but players can get in on the action as well.  The new "Smuggling" specialization increases trade income, but at the cost of increased corruption and reduced tax income.  It also includes eleven new maps to try out.

If you're interested in playing a different kind of strategy game, Sins of a Solar Empire may be for you and now is a great time to pick it up.  During the Steam summer sale the game is just $9.99, a great price for a multiplayer game with so much content and replayability.

Steam's summer sale has finally hit, aptly dubbed the Summer Picnic Sale -- and games are just as tasty as they are cheap!

Most people keep an eye on the daily highlighted deals but some real steals can be found if you poke around, even in the under $5 bracket -- there are some real gems floating around the $5 mark, especially this year.

In an effort to make things a little easier for the thrifty Steam user during the sale's server-bending traffic, I've compiled a list of some pretty awesome games that are either just at the $5 mark or below on Steam from now until the end of the sale on July 4th.

These are by no means all of the good games in this price range throughout the Summer Picnic Sale, after all our tastes are probably different and I am but one cheap gamer compiling a list on the fly. But hopefully this makes you budgeting Steam users have an easier time picking out what you're going to buy this sale.

Guide to Surviving the Steam Summer Picnic Sale https://www.gameskinny.com/91gvk/guide-to-surviving-the-steam-summer-picnic-sale https://www.gameskinny.com/91gvk/guide-to-surviving-the-steam-summer-picnic-sale Thu, 23 Jun 2016 09:17:49 -0400 Ian Ilano

If you're like most gamers, the Steam Summer Sale is a cultural holiday. It's like a festival; players from all over are gathering to see what's in stock. With serious low prices and convincing bundle deals, I understand it's hard to resist throwing your money away.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind before making a purchase. The following information will help you survive the onslaught of low prices, bargains, and the pervasive temptation of frugality.

Steam Summer Sale

Daily deals are gone. No need to wait around for price drops.

All prices shown are final.

With the removal of Daily Deals, there's no longer a need to wait around to see if a price drops.

The prices listed are not going to change. They're going to stay that way for the remainder of the sale. If you see a game you want, go ahead and buy it.

However, if there's no discount for a game that you have your eye on, rest assured that this does not mean it won't receive a price-cut later on. Some publishers wait around before setting a discount. Add it to your wishlist and keep an eye open.

Be safe. Buy your games separate.

Did one of your purchases turn out horrible? Be careful when making a return.

Purchases made in the same transaction will automatically be refunded. A general rule is to buy one game at a time, otherwise if you ask for a refund, all your other games will be removed from your library as well.

For example, if I purchased Darkest Dungeon, Stardew Valley, and DOOM at the same time and I wanted to refund DOOM because I thought it was a terrible game (it's not), then I would be refunded for the other two games as well.

I can imagine it would be annoying if you packaged a ton of indie games into one purchase and lost them all because you found one literally unplayable.

UPDATE: I've been informed that this may no longer be the case. Refunds won't refund your entire purchase, only the game that you want gone. Keep this in mind.

It's always been said that buying games one by one can have adverse effects. Credit card operators may block transactions if there's too many small purchases. It may be wise to add money directly to your Steam Wallet instead. That also might help with on-the-whim purchases.

Search

Jewels are hidden among the pile of discounted games.

Seek and explore!

Think of the Steam Summer Sale as a large convention or career fair. Sometimes, the jewels are hidden away in the far nooks and crannies of the festival grounds. You don't want to stay around where everyone is gathering; sometimes, it's rewarding to go off and explore on your own.

There are quite a few bundles and deals that have not been discovered yet. People are still tracking down what's on sale and what's worth buying.

Last year, there were a couple of indie games that went for extremely low prices and never saw the light of day. Check 'em out! Do some searches, explore by tags -- you may find yourself a deal that nobody else has.

The subreddit /r/GameDeals is a great place to track what's on sale.

Unfortunately, the wallet suffers tremendously around this time of year. Do it a favor and keep these three basic rules in mind while you do your online shopping. Trust me, it will thank you later on.

The 2016 Steam Summer Picnic Sale lasts until July 4. Check out all the Day One discounts on the official Steam Store page.

The Steam summer sale is coming, and it's my favorite holiday ever! https://www.gameskinny.com/looaw/the-steam-summer-sale-is-coming-and-its-my-favorite-holiday-ever https://www.gameskinny.com/looaw/the-steam-summer-sale-is-coming-and-its-my-favorite-holiday-ever Wed, 22 Jun 2016 15:17:59 -0400 Jenifyr Kaiser

This is it people, the one we've been waiting for. The Steam summer sale is almost here! And it's the biggest PC game sale of the year.

Yes, Steam has other big sales and they are all pretty awesome. The winter sale usually has some great deals, but it tends to come at a time when I'm spending most of my extra cash on my loved ones. That's not to say I haven't picked up a game now and then around the holidays, but I just feel so guilty about it. It's not nearly as much fun as the summer sale which, according to Paypal, will kick off on June 23rd.

My new favorite holiday

The Steam summer sale is like a holiday in and of itself. I don't have any other major holidays to worry about or huge expenses coming up, so the guilt of buying a few games is much less that it would be otherwise. It's also mitigated by the fact that I'm getting a huge deal on the games I do buy. Some of the games can be up to 95% off! Being a bargain hunter extraordinaire, I have a hard time passing up any deal, but to not buy a game I like for 95% off, that's just... silly!

Soon I will get to pick up all those titles I've been waiting to buy all year. Some games I just can't wait for. I have to buy them on the day they come out. I wait in line patiently like a Star Wars fan on premier night, knowing that I'm getting something amazing at the moment of its release. That's pretty awesome to me, but there are some titles I don't need right away, some that I can wait for.

Many games are just not on my A-list, kind of like a romantic comedy movie. I don't need to see that movie on the IMAX screen, in 3D, with all the bells and whistles. I'll wait until it comes out on Blu-ray, then snuggle up on the couch with my honey to watch it. Some games are just like that. They look good, but who knows if I will love them? So, those are on my Steam summer sale list. I'm pretty sure I can pick them up for a great price and if I don't like them, oh well. My wallet hasn't taken as much of a hit as it would have otherwise.

That's not to say you can't get great deals on premium games. You definitely can -- but usually the price cuts aren't quite so deep, especially if it is a newer game. Don't expect a huge discount on Doom or Total War: Warhammer, but you might grab a great deal on Crashlands or Goliath. This is a great time to pickup indie titles too, especially if you've been on the fence about them.

My Strategy

Steam sales are a lot of fun. They usually have a contest that rolls through the entire event. Participants can expect even better deals if they win. There are also the flash sales to keep an eye on. Those are usually timed and drop the price even further for a short while then they go back to the regular sale price. Daily deals are good too and you usually get 2 days to get on these as they will have the daily deals and yesterday's daily deals posted.

I have a strategy for the whole thing. I participate in the contest to try to get the great deals, but I keep an eye on my favorite titles as well. If I see them come up on a daily or flash deal I grab them. If not, I wait until the last day of the sale to pick them up. Nothing is worse then grabbing a game, only to see it for sale the next day at half what you paid.

All the fun starts on June 23rd, so warm up your credit cards and Paypal accounts. Check out the Steam store page for more details. Good luck and have fun!

PayPal Confirms Dates for Steam Summer Sale https://www.gameskinny.com/xyunr/paypal-confirms-dates-for-steam-summer-sale https://www.gameskinny.com/xyunr/paypal-confirms-dates-for-steam-summer-sale Fri, 17 Jun 2016 05:04:05 -0400 Jordan DiPirro

PayPal has officially confirmed on Twitter that the start of the Steam Summer Sale is June 23, 2016. They also have confirmed it via email.

Originally, an unknown user on Reddit who posted the dates in Russian was the one that leaked the news. This caused many people to wonder if the dates were real or not. We can officially confirm that those dates are correct, thanks to PayPal. (After all, PayPal is one of Steam’s accepted forms of payment.) And this isn't the first time they've spilled the beans -- PayPal has also leaked the news for Steam’s autumn and winter sales in the past.

The end date of the sale hasn’t been released yet, but usually the summer sale lasts for at least a week. We also don’t know if Steam has any plans to release a new alternative reality game, like they did for the Winter sale. Hopefully there will be more surprises this year. There also hasn’t been any word about the amount of discounts during the sale or what games are going to get the price cuts. Stay tuned for more info as it comes out!

According to some dudes on Reddit, and we're choosing to believe them here, is that the Steam Summer Sale for 2016 will begin on June 23 and run until Independence Day on July 4th.

Obviously, this is still unconfirmed by actual sources but the rumor comes from somebody who is known to have good information. The user posted an image with the information.

A similar leak happened last year when the dates were leaked on VK which is essentially a Russian version of Facebook.

I Am Setsuna

\n

Release Date: July 19th

\n

Another title based entirely around nostalgia, but this time entirely lacking in vehicular mayhem, SquareEnix's I Am Setsuna aims to draw in that crowd that still regularly plays SNES and GBA roleplaying games.

\n

Everything is put in place to please the Chrono Trigger-adoring crowd, from the emphasis on music to the turn-based combat. All indicators are that this will be a modern classic that will make us all remember why we spent untold hours exploring fantasy worlds when we were kids.

Carmageddon: Max Damage

\n

Release Date: July 8th

\n

This cult classic series based entirely around vehicular homicide is returning to tickle your nostalgia bone and offend pretty much everybody. Woo-hoo!

\n

We all know the best part of a racing game is leaving the track, hitting bystanders, and generally causing mayhem, so why shouldn't a whole game be based around the concept?

\n

For those worrying about the lack of diversity among victims, you can rest easy knowing you get to mow down and terribly dismember both nuns and penguins in this iteration of the series.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

\n

Release Date: June 28th

\n

Lego editions of every blockbuster franchise now arrive like clockwork every year, and we're nearing Call Of Duty / Assassin's Creed levels here, but these tend to remain crowd pleasers among both kids and adults.

\n

Somehow, these stay incredibly fun, and they manage to nail the humor more often than not. This one looks to be just as fun (and funny) as any of the Lego entries that came before.

No Man's Sky

\n

Release Date: June 21st

\n

Ready to Christopher Columbus your way around the universe (hopefully with a bit less genocide of indigenous peoples) while discovering and claiming several quintillion procedurally-generated planets?

\n

This has got to be one of the most hyped releases of recent memory (although some are less than optimistic the end result will be as good as promised). Space travel, exploration, trade, and combat: this one is set to have it all, along with a unique and iconic art style.

\n

To find out what's ahead, check our our article covering everything you need to know about No Man's Sky, or just watch the 13 minutes of footage below. Hopefully they manage to pull off this randomized universe and fill it with interesting and unique content, because this looks like something that could be really spectacular if done properly.

The Technomancer

\n

Release Date: June 21st

\n

After shifting release dates, this futuristic title that made our list of most anticipated RPGs of 2016 is now slated to arrive at the start of the summer proper. Every new crumb of info that has been released has just increased that anticipation, with some of the latest gameplay footage (see below) looking phenomenal.

\n

Set in the future on the planet Mars, this one is going to strongly appeal to fans of games like Alpha Protocol or Mass Effect that blend action and RPG gameplay with multiple routes to confront any given situation.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst

\n

Release Date: June 7th

\n

Despite some rough spots, Mirror's Edge really turned heads in 2008 with its extremely fast-paced, first-person gameplay that managed to not be a shooter. Once again with Catalyst, you'll be running at full speed along narrow ledges and on high catwalks in this origin story revolving around main character Faith Connors.

\n

Adrenaline junkies will want to jump on this one... but not folks with a fear of heights. If the radio broadcast towers in Far Cry 3 had you breathing rapidly and grabbing a hold of the couch in white-knuckled fear, then this one is not for you.

We're on the cusp of finally hitting summer, which is when the blockbuster movies drop but the gaming landscape is sadly a little more barren.

\n

On top of a sparse release schedule, unfortunately previously planned release dates for several big names were pushed back. Persona 5 for instance is now heading to September, while Horizon: Zero Dawn is slated for some nebulous point in 2017. Torment: Tides Of Numenera's full release date meanwhile remains entirely shrouded in mystery, although early access is available through Stream.

\n

Some really huge titles have either already launched or are about to drop by the end of the month before the official start of summer 2016 - Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Homefront: The Revolution, Doom, Overwatch, and the massive Far Harbor DLC for Fallout 4. These should keep you busy, but for the true game fanatic, they won't last till September.

\n

If you manage to work your way through all of those titles by summer's end (or just don't care for those respective genres), don't fret: there's still some gaming goodness coming that will keep you indoors and out of the heat. Here, we're rounding up eight of the most anticipated summer 2016 video games that will be well worth your time!

Prime Day was a huge success despite criticsim https://www.gameskinny.com/t1bic/prime-day-was-a-huge-success-despite-criticsim https://www.gameskinny.com/t1bic/prime-day-was-a-huge-success-despite-criticsim Thu, 16 Jul 2015 19:06:06 -0400 OrganisedDinosaur

If you had searched for the trending hashtag #primeday on July 15th, you would have found almost nothing but complaints about the ridiculous products that were on sale and the rather poor discounts being offered by Amazon during their "bigger than Black Friday" sale. I myself wrote about my bitter disappointment here on Gameskinny.

Well as it turns out, I must eat my own words as despite the criticism, Amazon delivered on their promise and had a more successful day than last year's Black Friday. The full report can be viewed on the Amazon website, but its highlights include.

  • Amazon sold more units on Prime Day than Black Friday 2014, the biggest Black Friday ever.
  • Worldwide order growth increased 266% over the same day last year and 18% more than Black Friday 2014.
  • More new members tried Prime worldwide than any single day in Amazon history.
  • Members ordered tens of thousands of Fire TV Sticks in one hour, making it the fastest-selling deal on an Amazon device ever.
  • 56,000 Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy sets.

Amazon promised a day bigger than Black Friday and it seems like they delivered in spite of misleading advertising and a huge backlash to a rather poor line up of products. Prime Day seemed to many to be more of an opportunity for Amazon to dump unwanted stock but in the end, people voted with their wallets and the consensus ultimately is that the day was a roaring success.

Of course there are plenty of people in the world who will buy something just because it is on sale. How many games do we all have in our Steam library from the last Steam Summer Sale that we will never ever play. Perhaps Amazon is at fault and perhaps the consumers are.

Do you think Prime Day was a good day for sales after all? Or did Amazon simply prey on those who can't resist a sale? Let us know below.

Will Fight for Food: Super Actual Sellout: Game of the Hour Review - It's Luchador Time! https://www.gameskinny.com/pupmh/will-fight-for-food-super-actual-sellout-game-of-the-hour-review-its-luchador-time https://www.gameskinny.com/pupmh/will-fight-for-food-super-actual-sellout-game-of-the-hour-review-its-luchador-time Fri, 12 Jun 2015 11:33:18 -0400 Stephanie Tang

There have only been a handful of times where I have looked at a game title and thought "Good god, what pithy, witty, and most importantly short tagline can I squeeze into this exceptionally long post title?" (Tales from the Borderlands Episode 2: Atlas MuggedI'm looking at you.)

Will Fight for Food's full title is the first and only time I have ever taken a look at the character count and thought "There goes half a Twitter update."

Of course, the wordiness of this particular title fits in well with the game mechanics it delivers: a complicated, cumbersome dialogue system that unfortunately doesn't do the game writing justice.

Not that you can say you weren't warned. From the official description:

"Kill, steal, and tread the tender fields of diplomacy in this RPG Brawler with a ridiculously complicated conversation system - or you can just beat up everyone you meet, you psycho."

Will Fight for Food by Pyrodactyl follows the story of Jared, a washed-up wrestler whose career tanks after a fight in the ring goes off-script and he loses the biggest match of his life.

Flash forward into the future and you find Jared on a quest for closure after that single drunken night. Faced with a city full of familiar faces from the past (some as washed-up as you are, some leading high-powered, influential lives) it's up to you to cull friend from foe in the sea of random NPCs.

Conversation doesn't come easily to Jared of course (why else, such a clunky dialogue system?) so it is up to you whether Jared tries his hand at social engineering, or he simply dons his mask to chase them down and punch them in the face.

The end result is a throwback to Flash games in the early 2000s - those golden days when the internet was still impressed by animated stick figures and planets drawn in Paint.

Like the Flash games of yore, Will Fight for Food runs on its self-aware, wacky, and utterly irreverent mix of dialogue-driven humor - which makes it a hard thing to capture in a game like this because the humor is not universal. Some jokes you get, some you probably won't; you'll like it or you won't.

If all else fails, punch them in the face.

The randoms Jared meets (there are about 8 different locations throughout the game) run the gamut from super villains to Secret Service agents, cosplayers to creatures from another dimensions, and it's these random conversations that bear the bulk of the game's funny.

It can feel like a lot of work to get there though: there will be situations that you'll have some convincing to do, and it's up to you to find the right combination of aggression/friendliness.

There are about 1-2 quests per map, and while the game touts a player-driven sense of freedom, the graphics are super simple with liberally reused assets much like any other classic, linear beat 'em up.

More's the pity if you decide to pitch the dialogue system altogether and devote yourself entirely to systematically beating up every face you see. This will shorten all gameplay to roughly half an hour, and, unfortunately the fight mechanics are not nearly as developed as conversation. With only three different moves you can possibly make and super-simple graphics, gunning through will turn into half an hour's worth of buttonmashing with some, but not a lot of, changing animation when you string a number of different attacks into a combo.

It's also important to note that while this game may pitch the luchador title, mask aside, the combat doesn't particularly feel like there's much wrestling influence, and the AI can get pretty wonky. If you're not a fan of the outfit, well... tough. Aside from the cosmetic changes offered in the very beginning, you will be able to find other equippable items in-game that will change your stats, but they won't affect your appearance.

In the end, Will Fight for Food offers an interesting premise, upbeat, catchy music, and the power to punch everyone in the face. The end result feels over-complicated in some areas and almost unfinished in others. I would highly suggest checking out the trailers on the game's Steam page to see if the humor strikes your fancy as it will likely be the best indicator as to whether or not you'll enjoy this particular title.

Deja vu?

Feel like you may have seen this game before?

That may be because you really have! Despite the April 2015 release date listed on Steam, Will Fight for Food has been on sale for a few years now and was originally released for PC and Linux in 2012. It's a staple title for digital distributors like Desura and ShinyLoot, which both regularly stock indie game titles that would otherwise fall under the radar.

I haven't personally played the 2012 version but the Steam release is supposed to have included some updates and improvements in comparison according to the original Greenlight page. Everyone who originally bought one of these keys (or buys one in the future) will receive a Steam key version of the game as well.

Will Fight for Food is currently on Steam Summer sale for 35% off the original price of $6.49 CAD (or equivalent regional currency).
