All Abiotic Factor 2024 Roadmap Updates

Abiotic Factor was just released on May 2, 2024, but with the game receiving such great reviews and praise, it’s no surprise the team is already looking ahead. The update schedule for the rest of the year promises new maps, items, game modes, and more. Here’s an in-depth look at what we can expect.

Major Update 1 – Crush Depth

The first major update for the game rolls out sometime this summer and adds a handful of new content to the game, including the ability to swim (as if the game wasn’t creepy enough already), three new maps, and a new method of transportation:

  • New Maps:
    • Security Sector
    • Hydroplant Sector
    • V Facility
  • New Features:
    • Lasers System
    • Swimming & Diving
    • Temperature System
    • More Enemies
  • New Items:
    • Jetpack
    • Auto Salvager
    • Teleporter
    • Gate SUV
    • More Items & Resources

Major Update 2 – Dark Energy

The second major update will roll out sometime in the Autumn of this year and appears to feature a more alien-like theme for the new maps and items. It will also continue to progress the navigating features of the game by giving up more teleportation. However, they are keeping the teasers very limited for this update, only letting us in on a few details:

  • New Maps:
    • The Reactors
    • The Nest
    • S E (Appears to be a cabin in the woods)
  • New Features:
    • Teleportation Network
    • The Gatekeepers (Enemies?)
    • Hardlight Technology
    • More Customization (For characters)
    • New Items, resources, and enemies in general

There will also be a Halloween update sometime around this point as well. They aren’t revealing any teasers of what we can expect from it yet, but it’s safe to assume it will be all things spooky: maps, enemies, and perhaps character cosmetics fitting of the season.

Major Update 3 – Cold Fusion

The last update on the radar for this year is the Cold Fusion update, which is set to be released sometime in the Winter of this year. This is the update we know least about since most of the new features are shown to be locked, or perhaps the team is still working on filling in. This is all we know so far:

  • New Maps:
    • Sector (Snowy map)
    • THE? (Very foggy map that looks perfect for a jumpscare)
    • Facility (Some kind of facility that looks seemingly normal from the outside)
  • New Features:
    • New items, resources, and enemies

This is just the news and teasers we have for the upcoming updates so far. As the dates grow closer, we’ll see more in-depth previews and exact dates for the update releases.
