How to Farm Silica Pearls in Ark: Survival Ascended

Previously, Silica Pearls were much rarer in Ark: Survival Evolved and could only be found at certain spots in the underwater biome. However, in Ark: Survival Ascended, this resource is much more common, thank goodness! You can find the clams containing the Silica Pearls around the entire ocean biome of the main island.

The fastest and easiest way to collect Silica Pearls off the ocean floor is to tame the Anglerfish. You can find this fish on the bottom of the ocean, and you can tame it with the help of Plesiosaurus. Once it’s tamed, let the Anglerfish collect the Silica Pearls for you from the underwater caves and the ocean floor using its unique biting attack. This will yield huge amounts of this resource.

In my experience, though — and through a little bit of research — it’s also possible to collect Silica Pearls from the surface nodes in Ark: Survival Ascended. You can see the spots where these nodes spawn on the map above. Here’s a more detailed description of the best locations that yield the highest amount of Silica Pearls:

  • The Whitesky Peak (17.7 Lat | 20.5 Lon)
  • The Northern Plains (18.9 Lat | 41.1 Lon)
  • The Grand Hills (32.8 Lat | 37.6 Lon)
  • The Western Plains (38.3 Lat | 20.7 Lon)
  • The Western Approach (49.8 Lat | 16.3 Lon)
  • The Northeast Shores (41.1 Lat | 84.8 Lon)

It’s also possible to use Otters for harvesting Coelacanth fish. You could also loot the Great Beaver Dams and the corpses of Trilobite, Eurypterid, and Leech. But none of these sources will yield as many Silica Pearls as the ones I’ve listed above.

That’s everything you need to know about the best ways to farm Silica Pearls in ARK: Survival Ascended. Stay tuned for more ASA tips and tricks articles, including best locations to farm oil and how to switch to first-person view.
