Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Get Wyll and Karlach’s Shared Epilogue

Give Karlach her best ending by sending her to Avernus with Wyll in Baldur's Gate 3!

If you’ve wanted a good ending for Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3, now’s your chance. Thanks to a patch, Karlach can get an ending that’s a little better than her previous options. Instead of facing Avernus alone, she’ll have Wyll, and you, at her side to prevent Zariel from controlling her again. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Wyll and Karlach’s shared epilogue in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Get Wyll and Karlach’s Shared Epilogue in Baldur’s Gate 3

The shared ending happens after the end battle in the final cutscene. If you’ve done everything right and selected the proper dialogue options, you’ll head to Avernus as a team of three.

Patch 2 added a new ending for Karlach, Wyll, and the player character to go to Avernus together, help each other survive, and avoid Zariel. However, getting this ending has quite a few requirements that you need to fulfill long before you reach Act 3. That includes the personal quests for both Karlach and Wyll.

Prerequisites for Karlach

Not only do you need to complete Karlach’s personal quest, but you’ll also have to romance her. The ending happens during the final cutscene where you speak with your companions, and you’ll get the option to go with Karlach, send Karlach with Wyll, or go to Avernus with Wyll and Karlach.

Prerequisites for Wyll

Second, you need to complete Wyll’s personal quest and rescue his father, Duke Ravengard. This means having him sell his soul a second time to get Mizora’s help with returning the duke alive, but then you need to find him in Act 3 after he appoints Gortash as a new duke. On the bright side, you can get the Spellsparkler in Act 1 while working on the rescue questline.

Destroy the Absolute

Finally, you need to destroy the Absolute. This epilogue is part of the “Heroes of the Realm” ending, and controlling the Absolute doesn’t give anybody the opportunity to have an ending free from Mindflayers and Nautiloids. After it’s destroyed, with Wyll and Karlach in the party for your final battle, you’ll be able to select their epilogue during the scene on the docks. Then, you’ll get to see them in Avernus, running into the battle against demons.

That’s all you need to complete for how to get Wyll and Karlach’s shared epilogue in Baldur’s Gate 3. While it seems simple enough, you might have to start a new save file for it, given that you need to begin preparing in Act 1.
