Skull and Bones: Best Ship Loadouts and Builds

Best Hullbreaker (Brigantine) Loadout

  • Main Weapons: 4 Dardanelles Guns
  • Aux. Weapon: Leopold III
  • Armor: Black Prince or Ouroboros
  • Furniture:
    • Scoping Station
    • La Potence Schematics I
    • Front Powder Kegs I
    • Bombard Powderhouse I
    • Bombard Works I

Currently, there’s no better ship in Skull and Bones than the Hullbreaker. It’s the biggest and strongest ship, and it can almost never lose in both PvE and PvP with the right loadout. Here, I selected the Dardanelles Guns for the bow, which are the strongest Bombard weapons in the game. With the help of these weapons, I can easily deal with towers and settlement weakpoints.

I highly recommend getting the Ouroboros armor, but if you don’t have enough Silver yet, then Black Prince would be the best alternative. I based my choice of furniture on its weapon damage bonus (10%) and Bombard damage bonus (20%).

Best Vanguard (Snow) Loadout

  • Main Weapons:
    • Scurlock’s Long Nines
    • Flooding Demicannon III
    • Fire Bombard III
  • Aux. Weapon: Mortar III
  • Armor: Royal Custodian
  • Furniture:
    • Water Tank
    • Double Planked Hull I
    • Leather Rope Grips I
    • Demicannon Works I

If you’re specifically looking for a large ship with high survivability, then I’d recommend this Vanguard build. It’s equipped with the best armor in the game, the Royal Custodian, which has solid protection from explosive and fire damage. I also added Double Planked Hull to the mix for extra defense against ramming ships.

But this ship also carries massive firepower. With the help of Scurlock’s Long Nines, I can easily reach enemy ships from afar and even succeed in pursuing them by disabling their sails. The Flooding Demicannons on both sides will inflict flooding on enemy ships and make them more susceptible to ramming. This kind of setup is more than enough to take out any large ship in both PvE and PvP.

Best Pyromaniac (Sambuk) Loadout

  • Main Weapons:
    • Blue Specter
    • Fire Bombard III
    • Zamzama III
  • Aux. Weapon: Leopold III
  • Armor: Ouroboros or Black Prince
  • Furniture:
    • Gunpowder Bench I
    • Sticky Fuel Station I
    • Bombard Powderhouse I
    • Bombard Works I

While both ships that I mentioned above are mostly focused on balanced combat and defense, this build is all about offense. The most important feature of this loadout is the Blue Specter with its Superheated perk. I discovered that it synergizes perfectly with the Sambuk’s own Scorched perk, which sets everything on fire within a 150-meter radius.

The other two weapons in the main slot also work synergistically with the ship’s furniture. The Fire Bombard does extra 30% elemental damage with the help of Bombard Powderhouse and Bombard Works. Zamzama sets the enemy ships with the Ablaze effect, which is supported by a 20% Ablaze bonus from Gunpowder Bench and Sticky Fuel Station.

Best Bombardier (Padewakang) Loadout

  • Main Weapons:
    • Fire Bombard III
    • Basilisk III
    • Tearing Culverin III
  • Aux. Weapon: Leopold III
  • Armor: Royal Custodian
  • Furniture:
    • Megaphone
    • Bombard Works I
    • Bombard Powderhouse I
    • Bombard Grinder I

Here’s another look at a purely offensive loadout. But this time I decided to go with a pure Bombard build for the Padewakang ship. Here, I recommend placing Fire Bombard weapons on both the bow and the sides. In this way, I can easily reposition my ship without losing any of the fire pressure. The Basilisk and the Tearing Culverin are here to deal with weak points and provide more balance to the whole loadout.

Since Bombard weapons are so slow to reload, I added the Megaphone to the furniture, which will increase the reload speed by 15%. The rest of the items are here to push that Bombard damage as far as possible.

Best Blaster (Sloop) Loadout

  • Main Weapon: Dardanelles Gun
  • Aux. Weapon: Basilisk III
  • Armor: Black Prince
  • Furniture:
    • Bombard Works I
    • Bombard Powderhouse I
    • Bombard Grinder I

If you’re not a fan of large ships and are looking for a small and fast boat, then there’s no better option in Skull and Bones than the Sloop. This is the fastest ship in the game, with some excellent resistance. Equip it with the Dardanelles Gun for powerful Bombard damage and use Basilisks when chasing enemy ships.

The choice of furniture is up to you, but I’d go all in with the Bombard damage. Although Blaster can easily escape any pursuit, I believe it’s still better to win in combat as quickly as possible rather than constantly running away.

That’s it for my guide on the best ship loadouts in Skull and Bones. Stay tuned for more SnB tips and tricks articles, including how to complete Freeman’s Lost Treasure, and how to get Ethereal Ashes.
