What Do Clovers Do in Coral Island?

Clovers mark special tiles in Coral Island. While you can’t actually pocket them as items, you’ll pick up other goods in their place when you dig them up. Oftentimes, you’ll find something useful, though relatively common. This includes items like seeds and compost.

Befitting the lore surrounding these plants, however, there’s a chance you’ll get lucky and receive rare items or materials. I pocketed some Bronze Kelp from the first clover I dug up on my playthrough. This was a lucky find, indeed, but many players have reported finding even more valuable resources.

How to Dig Up Clovers in Coral Island

As you explore Starlet Town and the surrounding areas in Coral Island, you’re bound to stumble upon a few clovers. However, you may not realize that you can actually dig up these sprouts to receive various loot drops. To do this, equip your hoe and dig within the tile where the clover appears.

Just make sure you have some space cleared out in your inventory before whacking away at these lucky plants. Otherwise, you may need to leave behind any rare or valuable drops you receive in the clover’s place. Unfortunately, I had to learn this lesson the hard way. To avoid a win-lose situation, I would advise that you craft some storage items as soon as you can.

Clover Spawn Locations in Coral Island

Clovers will spawn in semi-fixed locations spanning several areas in Coral Island. This includes the following regions:

• In the forest
• Near the Hot Springs and Bath House
• Near Millie’s and Yuri’s homes
• The Vineyard
• The beach
• The lake
• The Woodlands
• The Lookout
• In the central part of Starlet Town

Clover Respawn Rate in Coral Island

On a weekly basis, all clovers will respawn in Coral Island. This will occur each Monday, so be sure to mark your calendar. After a bit of testing on my own playthrough, I can confirm that each tile’s loot drop is totally random, even within the same location. Because of this, you’ll want to seize the opportunity to dig up these lucky plants when you can.
