Destiny 2: How to Fix Error Code Currant

Destiny 2 has its share of errors, but thankfully there are a few things you can do to fix error code Currant.

Connection issues are frustrating no matter where they happen, but in always-online MMO and live service games, they’re even worse. Destiny 2 players have to know about a laundry list of error codes and how to address them, including how to fix error code Currant, which we’ll discuss here.

How to Fix Error Code Currant in Destiny 2

Error code Currant is caused by a connection issue from your PC to Bungie’s servers — and one that’s not necessarily on their end. In other words, it’s different from some other issues you may encounter. You’ll only get the Currant error when your internet has trouble connecting to Destiny 2. That doesn’t mean the issue isn’t on their end, as weekly reset days with patches often cause a surge of Currant errors. However, here are the steps to fix error code Currant.

Restart Your Modem/Router

If the problem is with your internet, refreshing your connection to the web might solve it. It’s good practice to restart your devices semi-regularly anyway.

Restart Destiny 2

Currant errors might be solved by closing Destiny 2 and letting its files resync with the server or downloading an update.

Restart Steam

Sometimes Steam servers have issues catching Destiny 2 updates the instant they go live, but closing and reopening Steam usually solves that. Steam also has regular maintenance periods on Tuesdays, and if Destiny 2 can’t connect to Valve’s service, it can kick you.

Restart Your Computer/Console

There are a thousand and one reasons why simply turning your computer or console off and on again might fix error code Currant, and they might differ daily. Restarting your PC tends to solve most.

Check for Internet Outages with Your ISP

If there’s ongoing maintenance or problems with your area’s connection to the internet, your ISP should report that on either their app or their social media accounts. If there are issues your ISP is trying to fix, there’s not much you can do but be patient.

Check For Important Platform Updates

As an addendum to restarting your PC, if you play on PlayStation or Xbox, not only can restarting help you, but doing so also ensures the console checks for system updates. If your PC has vital firmware or driver updates, then doing those might fix error code Currant.

Wait a Little While

As horrid as it sounds, sometimes the best fix for an internet connection issue is patience. Whether it’s something with your ISP, your equipment, or a host of other possible issues, leaving the problem to percolate for an hour or so might be just the thing.

Sadly, there’s no one-size-fits-all fix for error code Currant. Connection problems are tricky at the best of times, but hopefully, one of the solutions offered above will give you some relief. We’ve covered other Destiny 2 error codes here, including the Cat error, as well as the Plum, Calabrese, and Centipede errors. We’ve covered much more about D2 in our guides hub.
