Enshrouded: Can You Change Appearance After Character Creation?

Let's go over whether you can change your character's appearance in Enshrouded.

Your character’s appearance has a lot to do with immersion. If you’re not happy with your choices during character creation in Enshrouded, you might like to know whether you can change your appearance. I’ll tell you whether that’s possible.

Is it Possible to Change Your Character’s Appearance After Character Creation in Enshrouded?

There aren’t too many options in Enshrouded‘s character creator, but there are enough to make a character you’re happy with. But you might not be satisfied with it a dozen or so hours in. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about it. You can’t change your character appearance after character creation.

You can, however, make multiple characters to play in a single world. This contrasts with Palworld, which ties characters to a world and doesn’t allow the host or other players to join a world with multiple characters. You can play a single character across multiple worlds while still retaining your equipment and inventory In Enshrouded. It’s not ideal, but you can at least decide whether or not you like your character’s appearance once you get in-game.

This mechanic also opens up the possibility of grinding for materials and gear on your own, then joining a multiplayer session and bringing the materials, gear, and skills you’ve earned with you so you don’t have to start all over again.

How to Make a New Character After Beginning a World

To make a new character after beginning a world in Enshrouded, click “Change” underneath your character’s name on the right side of the home screen. Then, choose “New Character.” This takes you to the character creation screen.

Enshrouded Character Creation Options Listed

While Enshrouded doesn’t have a robust character creation tool, it does allow you to make a decent-looking character. Here are all of the attributes you can tweak:

  • 15 presets
  • 27 hairstyles
  • 8 hair colors
  • 14 beards
  • 8 beard colors
  • 10 voices

Interestingly, there aren’t any tattoo or scar options during this phase of Early Access. That would be a nice customization option I’d like to see implemented in the future. Neither can you change body type beyond the presets, which provide minor changes, but nothing like some other games.

That’s it for whether you can change appearance after character creation in Enshrouded. Check out some of our other guides on the game, such as how to salvage items instead of deleting them, how to upgrade the Flame Altar, and how to parry and riposte enemies.
