Here's how to get to Batthal much faster and without and entry permit in Dragon's Dogma 2.

You can actually get to Batthal and its capital city quite early and without an entry permit with this shortcut I found. The shortcut involves a cave with decent loot and a golem boss to fight. Here’s how to get into Batthal early with this Dragon’s Dogma 2 shortcut.

I discovered a shortcut to Batthal through the Guerco Cavern that you can take to reach it much earlier, faster, and without an entry permit. As shown on the map above, you can get to the Guerco Cave from Vernworth or Harve Village quite swiftly just by walking. The cave will be guarded by some goblins, and here’s what the entrance looks like.

I recommend bringing a Mage pawn on this journey to heal you since you’ll face various enemies and a golem boss. The cave is a mini-dungeon where you’ll face goblins and hobgoblins. Make sure to explore the two locations in the picture below for some Sorcerer, Mage, and Mystic Spearhand loot. Continue down the cave, and you’ll eventually emerge onto a cliffside that leads to a room with stone golems. One of them will be active, so prepare for a boss fight.

You can easily beat the golem by targeting his coin-shaped glowing blue weak points on his back, arms, and foot when he kneels. He won’t take damage otherwise. I played a Fighter and climbed him to target the weak points, but a Thief would make the fight even easier since they’re the best at climbing monsters.

Once you defeat the Golem, there’s a chest on top of one of the ledges in his boss room with a Wakestone in it. From here, continue out of the cave, and you’ll eventually reach the Batthal coast. Just follow the main road as shown on the overland map above, and you’ll eventually reach the capital city of Bakbatthal.
