By and large, fishing is the best way to make money in The Winds of Anthos. While pastimes like mining and growing crops are integral to Harvest Moon and essential to drive the plot forward, these activities won’t earn you as much cash. Because of this, you’ll want to start fishing as soon as you can. Your pockets will surely thank you for it.

Neil’s father, Eugene, will give you a fishing rod and teach you how to fish after you’ve managed to reunite the estranged father and son. Depending on your pace, reaching this point can take a bit of time. However, the tutorial will occur as you rebuild Lenctenbury Village, the game’s starting point.

Once you have a rod and access to the outer landscape of Anthos, you’ll have everything you need to start raking in Gold. The bodies of water throughout the Breezy Plains are great spots to start. While fish species vary from one body to the next, the two most profitable fish throughout the area are Nile Tilapia and Green Arowana.

The standard rate for each of these species is about 880 Gold. However, larger fish will catch an even heftier offer. The most valuable fish I’ve managed to reel in was a huge Green Arowana, which sold for over 1,600 Gold alone.

That said, I strongly recommend setting time aside to fish each day. This will provide a steady source of income each time you leave goods in the shipping bin by your house.

Making quick money is as simple as that in The Winds of Anthos. With enough cash in your wallet, you’ll have access to everything you need to live your best life in Anthos. For more tips on your journey, visit our guides hub for Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos.
