Fortnite LEGO is here, and it brings you on a neverending crafting survival adventure. You’ll need to acquire unique resources throughout your time playing — just like Minecraft. Some that you’ll need are hard to find if you don’t know where they are. Here’s how to get Wooden Rods.

Where to Find Wooden Rods in LEGO Fortnite

When you land in your LEGO World, you’ll be set on a quest of discovery. If you’re familiar with the crafting survival genre, you’ll know what’s in store when it comes to foraging for resources. However, whether you’re a novice or an expert, Wooden Rods can be tricky to figure out. You’ll need the resource to craft any of the beginner weapons. After playing for a few hours, here’s what I’ve learned about Wooden Rods and how to get them.

The Exact Steps to Make Wooden Rods

• Craft a Lumber Mill.
  • x8 Wood.
  • x15 Granite.
• Harvest Wood from trees.
  • Can be collected from the stick piles on the ground, or harvested from nearby trees.
• Interact with the Lumber Mill.
• Craft a Wooden Rod.
  • x1 Wood each.

I had to learn through trial and error that crafting stations can’t be used in the rain. With the unpredictable weather in the LEGO World, I highly recommend that you build the Lumber Mill underneath a structure so it’s always usable, just as you would have to when making planks.

What are Wooden Rods Used For?

The Wooden Rods are required for both the Shortsword recipe and the Crossbow. So, you’ll need them to get started in LEGO combat. Notably, every tool has a durability meter that you can see in the toolbar, so you might want to craft some extras. It didn’t take me long to come across my first Skeleton or group of ragtag Bandits, so you’ll want to be well-equipped with some backup weapons, too.
