How to Plant Seeds and Grow Crops in LEGO Fortnite

Before you start making a garden in LEGO Fortnite, there are a few things you need first. You’ll need to get your hands dirty and get some soil and fertilizer to make Garden Plots to start farming.

How to Make a Garden Plot

To get soil, all you need to do is grab a shovel and dig anywhere there’s dirt. To get fertilizer, you’ll need to find some animals like cows, sheep, or chickens. Once you find one, all you have to do is pet or punch them, and they’ll drop Fertilizer. Yes, it’s their poop.

Now that you have what you need to start your garden, you’ll need to make some Garden Plots. To make a Garden Plot, you’ll need:

  • Fertilizer x 1
  • Soil x 2

I suggest placing your plots next to each other so that they connect both horizontally and vertically, mimicking a farm plot in some like Stardew Valley. At least that’s how I like to place mine to keep things nice and orderly. The cool thing about LEGO Fortnite is that you can do it however you want! I also like to place fences around my plots to protect them, but you don’t have to use the wood resources on them if you don’t think you’ll need them.

Be aware that if you’ll need to break Garden Plots if you want to move them. Unfortunately, that’s the only way to move buildings in LEGO Fortnite as it stands.

How to Get and Plant Seeds in Your Garden in LEGO Fortnite

You can get seeds and grains in chests around your world, by digging up soil (sometimes), and by using certain work stations. If you have grains, you’ll need a Grain Mill to turn grain into seeds. To Make a Grain Mill you’ll need:

  • Shells x 3
  • Granite Slabs x 20
  • Knotroot Rods x 20

Now that you have seeds, all you have to do is walk up the Garden Plot and you’ll be prompted to plant your seeds. Then you just have to wait for your crops to grow until it’s time to harvest them. You’ll notice that they grow in stages, and you can pick them prematurely if you want — you just won’t get the full benefits!

Now you don’t have to kill any poor animals. Live off the land and mind your own business! That’s how to make a garden in LEGO Fortnite. If you’re looking for more tips and tricks, check out our dedicated LF guides hub for more topics like how to make bread and how to make flour.
