Remnant 2: How to Get the Ornate Flail

Take a swing at your foes with the Ornate Flail in Remnant 2.

The Ornate Flail in Remnant 2 can be found in the Losomn region if you know where to look. Obtaining this melee weapon can be rather tricky, since you need to reach a specific area in the zone. Our guide discusses the weapon’s location, as well as its stats.

How to Get the Ornate Flail in Remnant 2

The Ornate Flail can be found in Losomn’s Gilded Chamber or Council Chamber dungeon, but only if you get a map that has a room with charred worshipers. Sounds confusing? Well, here’s the gist:

  • You’re not guaranteed to get the room with charred worshipers. It’s completely random.
  • If you do find it, you’ll have to battle the Executioner aberration.
  • As you delve deeper into the sewers, you’ll spot the Ornate Flail.

Gilded Chamber and Council Chamber Layouts

Due to the game’s dynamic campaign progression feature, there’s no telling what sort of map layout you’d get. In my case, the room with charred worshipers was in the Gilded Chambers, the same place where I battled the Red Prince boss. I also know that it can show up in the Council Chamber.

However, if you get another unique event, like the Flames Puzzle, then the room might not appear at all. As such, you might need to reroll your Adventure Mode run a few times. Just be sure to pick the Losomn biome for your attempts.

What you’re looking for is a section of the castle that has a demon statue surrounded by burned-out husks. Check the right-hand side, and you’ll notice a painting. Destroy it, and go through the crawlspace.

How to Defeat the Executioner

To get the Remnant 2 Ornate Flail, you need to take out the Executioner. This aberration has a couple of affixes, one of which happens to be Displacer. Running away from it won’t do you any good, since it can just teleport you back to its location. I made sure to dodge its melee sequences, as well as its ground pound attack. I also suggest avoiding the water, since wading through it will just slow down your movement.

Once you’ve beaten the Executioner, you’ll receive the Steadfast mutator, which affects charged melee attacks. Proceed deeper into the murky canals until you see a chamber with numerous people that have turned to ash. Destroy the ones near the ledge so you can climb on top of it. This lets you pick up the glowing purple item on the altar.

Ornate Flail Stats

The Ornate Flail has the following stats:

  • Damage: 63
  • Critical hit chance: 11%
  • Weak spot damage: 100%
  • Stagger modifier: -3%
  • Charged attack: Allows you to swing the weapon overhead before doing a powerful strike.
  • Unique mod: None

You’re not done yet, though, since you still need to get back topside. Along the way, you’ll find the Sapphire Dreamstone, a ring that reduces skill cooldowns by 3% whenever you land critical hits. Past this point, you’ll be able to return to the room with the charred worshipers, and you can continue onward with your run. And that’s it: that’s all you need to know about how to get the Ornate Flail in Remnant 2. For more tips and strategies, you can visit our Remnant 2 guides hub.
