Remnant 2: How to Get the Secret Royal Broadsword

Remnant 2 has several weapons that you can only obtain through specific actions. One of these is the Royal Broadsword, which comes from the Yaesha region. Our guide details how to get the Royal Broadsword in Remnant 2 as part of the Arrest event.

How to Get the Royal Broadsword in Remnant 2

To get the Remnant 2 Royal Broadsword, you must let your character die during the fight with the Eternal Empress’ guards. However, there are some key requirements and caveats to consider:

• You must start in Yaesha by way of the Red Throne area. If you start in the Forbidden Glade, that’s a completely different quest arc. In my case, I had to try additional Adventure Mode runs just to get the Red Throne as a location.
• You must talk to the Eternal Empress and the Attendant, then choose the dialogue responses that lead to combat, subsequently losing the fight as well. This leads to the Arrest event, which allows you to reach the prison area and the Royal Broadsword.
• Certain decisions may lock you out of other rewards, such as the Ford’s Scattergun.

Yaesha Arrest Event and Royal Broadsword Location

To start the Arrest event in Remnant 2, enter the large double doors in the Red Throne area. A short cutscene will play, whereupon you’ll be introduced to the Eternal Empress and the Attendant. Initially, I chose friendly responses. But I also noticed some hostile, rude, and combative replies, which had an icon represented by two crossed swords. For instance, there’s: “That’s not the deal I’m asking for. I won’t kill for you.”

Choosing hostile responses makes the NPCs hostile, and the guards will attack. Don’t bother fighting them at all. If you let them kill your character, you’ll respawn in prison. The “Eternal Empress” reveals that she’s actually the “Attendant” (the two just switched places, Queen-Amidala-and-Padme-style from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace).

As you escape, take out the Pan Minotaur mobs that you encounter. When you arrive at the topmost room, you’ll find the Remnant 2 Royal Broadsword. Continue to the end of the corridor and pass through the illusory wall so you can go back to exploring the other parts of Yaesha.

• Damage: 102
• Crit chance: 7%
• Weak spot damage: 95%
• Stagger modifier: 11%
