In short, to solve the Sundial puzzle, you’ll need to select The Shichen of Wei and the Vermilion Bird of the South, as well as pick the top left pillar in the Magistrate’s Office later. The opportunity to solve the puzzle is available as you progress through the main story missions of Wuthering Waves and come across one mission that’s locked behind Union Level 14. It’s the one right after facing Scar for the first time in the ruined village.

Once you reach the appropriate Union level, you can head to Jinzhou to meet with Chixia and Yangyang near the Synthesizer. Here’s where you’ll get a chance to solve the puzzle after a brief dialogue scene. Wei is the correct time period for the outer rim, as you’ve learned in previous missions. Furthermore, you need to select South for the inner rim, so that’s why you pick the Vermilion Bird, which represents the cardinal direction of the South.

Picking these two options gets you a map that is used in the Magistrate’s Office in the same mission. Essentially, the map tells you that you need to interact with the top left pillar to open the gate to the Data Library. Simply reach the end of this section, and you’ll get to fight and trap Scar finally. As before, dodge out of his AOE attacks that’ll explode after a brief delay on the ground. He’ll also have a second phase where you need to time dodges well and watch out for when he teleports behind you.
