Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) — A Pretty Stone and Golden Apples Shrine Guide

Here's our guide to help you find Golden Apples for the Pupunke Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Golden Apples tend to be fairly rare. However, since you need them for a particular objective in the Great Hyrule Forest, you’ll want to know how to get TotK Golden Apples. Here’s our guide to help you find them for the Pupunke Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find Golden Apples for the Great Hyrule Forest Pupunke Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Pupunke Shrine Quest location

While there are other locations with TotK Golden Apples, one place that’s viable would be the Great Hyrule Forest. However, it’s shrouded in mists, and parts of it are corrupted. You can only explore the remaining areas once you’ve cleansed the Deku Tree.

After doing that, you’re told of various Koroks that might need your help. Each one that you talk to will have a particular quest for you. The one that we’re looking for is to the east of the Korok Forest.

Follow the path, and you’ll stumble upon a fella named Damia. There’s a Sky Crystal next to him, but he’s not willing to part ways until you give him a bunch of items. This kickstarts the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom A Pretty Stone and Five Golden Apples Shrine Quest.

Golden Apples Location

From where you encounter Damia, follow the misty path forward, and you’ll see the Pupunke Shrine pedestal off to the side. Continue along the main path, taking out or avoiding enemies as you see fit. Make sure not to stray too far since, even though the forest has been cleansed, the areas with thick fog will still respawn you back to your previous position.

As you continue heading northeast, you’ll reach the Mido Swamp. Since this is a bog, the putrid liquid will cause you to sink after a few seconds. It’s imperative that you find higher ground or climb up on trees.

Make your way across, and upon reaching the northern bank, you’ll find the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Golden Apples. You’ll only need five for this quest, but I grabbed more for future use and left a pin on the location to farm nodes since they respawn after a Bloodmoon cycle.

Return to Damia and hand over five of these rare fruits. He’ll then relinquish possession of the Sky Crystal. Just carry it over to the pedestal to make the Shrine materialize. Inside is a Rauru’s Blessing, which nets you a Mighty Zonai Sword and a Light of Blessing.

This completes the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Golden Apples objective for the Pupunke Shrine. This is but one particular activity that you can complete in this massive game. For other challenges and mechanics, you can visit our Zelda TotK guides hub.
