Where to Get a Bowcaster in Fortnite (& Use Charge Attacks)

This time in the Fortnite X Star Wars event you’ll not only be able to use those infamous Blasters, but also a Wookie Bowcaster. This weapon really packs a punch with its charged attack, but you can’t get it just anywhere. Here’s where you can find them.

How to Get a Wookie Bowcaster in Fortnite

The Star Wars weapons are Mythic rarities, so you won’t just find them in any old spot on the map. You’ll need to head to the Imperial Roadblocks scattered around the biomes. Here you’ll find the Wookie Bowcasters in Imperial Chests or by assisting Chewbacca in defeating the Stormtroopers.

Imperial Roadblock Locations

Imperial chests are found at Imperial Roadblock locations. There are six of them in total scattered around the map. You’ll find them at these locations:

• North of Lavish Lair
• Southwest of Lavish Lair
• Northwest of Snooty Steppes
• Southwest of Fencing Fields
• South of Reckless Railways
• Southeast of Classy Courts

At these locations, look for large block-like crates in all black. The gold glow around the lid will tell you they are chests. These are the Imperial Chests where you’ll find some Star Wars weapons, including that Wookie Bowcaster.

Most often, they spawn inside the white huts are the roadblocks, but occasionally, you can find them outside of them as well. You’ll have to be quick to reach them before other players since there are a limited amount at each location.

Assisting Chewbacca

Another way you can get a Wookie Bowcaster without looting a chest is to assist Chewbacca at one of the Imperial Roadblocks. When you land there, you’ll see him fighting the Stormtroopers. You’ll need to grab a gun and help him defeat them before he is killed.

Chewbacca can appear at various roadblocks, but I found him specifically when landing at the roadblock southeast of Classy Courts. Once you defeat the Stormtroopers, he will become an automatic ally and drop you a Bowcaster on the ground.

How to Use a Bowcaster Charged Attack in Fortnite

The best part of the Wookie Bowcaster is the types of blasts it can shoot out. While the E-11 Blasters are fast-firing, their aim (notoriously) sucks. The Wookie Bowcaster is the opposite. You can pinpoint your shots more accurately with its regular blasts and with its Charged Attack, you can hit multiple enemies at once explosively.

To perform a Charged Attack, all you need to do is hold the fire button RT/R2 or M1 and then release it after a few seconds. You’ll see the tip of the Bowcaster glow red as it charges up. Once you release, the blast will shoot out where you are aiming and hit everything within the radius of it. The longer you hold the charge, the more damage it will do when you release it.

The Wookie Bowcaster might just be the firepower you need to dominate the competition or perhaps take out Darth Vader himself. Find one around the map for yourself and give it a try.
