First Report Episode 9 – Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer

Let's play through Dragon Age: Inquisition's multiplayer mode!
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s a crazy world out there, with breaches, demons and more rampaging across the contryside. The world of Dragon Age: Inquisition is vast and immersive. It’s also been covered to death with a plethora of videos awaiting your Youtube search requests. So we’re not going to talk about the single-player game. Instead, we’re going to focus on the multiplayer experience.

With three initial classes available (the other 9 are gated away until you’ve unlocked them) players can choose from:

  • The Legionaire – a sword and board dwarf
  • The Archer – a bow wielding human
  • The Keeper – a staff and spell slinging Elf

Well, classes might be the wrong term. I might compare it to choosing characters to play rather than classes. There’s no customization of look or race, other than some minor armor cosmetic changes that come with new gear.

Running through the three available maps and their variations, I did notice that network lag was a consistent, if not ever-present, companion. 20% of the time I was fighting rubber-banding as well as the monsters that were rushing towards, away, towards, away, and finally back towards me. Frustrating to say the least. Once I defeated the lag monster, a fun (yet repetitive) game was waiting for me.

Take a look at the video for a more in-depth playthrough of one of the levels, as well as an overview of the inventory, ability, and micro-transaction systems.
