How to Find the Lazy River in Club Penguin Island

Club Penguin Island launched over two weeks ago, but some are still perplexed by the game's Lazy River. Let's check it out -- and see why you should be floating down it!

After Club Penguin’s shutdown on March 29, all penguins set sail for Club Penguin Island — Disney’s mobile-only adaption that launched worldwide the same day. On April 7, the official Twitter thanked the over one million fans who signed up on the Android and iOS app.

But one of the important new features of Club Penguin Island are its Daily Challenges, which consist of assigned player activities that must be completed daily. Some of these challenges are for a single penguin, but others require the whole community to pitch in.

The lazy river is a part of four daily challenges:

  • Whoa Cocoa (Single player) — Penguins must drink hot cocoa while tubing down the lazy river.
  • Cocoa-rific! (Community) — 1,000 penguins must drink hot cocoa while tubing down the lazy river.
  • Want a Pizza Me? (Single player) — Penguins must eat a slice of pizza while tubing down the lazy river.
  • Anchovy Overload (Community) — 1,000 penguins must eat slices of pizza while tubing down the lazy river.

But where can a penguin find this lazy river to complete challenges?

It’s easy! It’s right in Coconut Cove. But floating down it in one’s tube is the real challenge.

First, make sure you have the Club Penguin Island mobile app installed. If you don’t, you can download it for your iOS or Android device. Next, make sure you have registered for an account and created your penguin.

Once you’ve got that all set up, starting from Beacon Boardwalk, waddle right until you reach Coconut Cove. On the far-left side of the cove, you should see a trail of shells on the sand, leading up to a wooden dock. Follow this trail. Once on the dock, move forward to the edge and jump up and across the rocks to reach the top of the waterfall. These are tricky jumps, so it may take a few tries.

Once you have successfully climbed to the top, open your inventory, find your tube, and press the action button to wear it. The default tube in Club Penguin Island is the Island Tube, but there’s been several other designs implemented with the 1.2.0 update:

  • Funky Feather (unlocked at level 2)
  • Cake Cruiser (level 5)
  • Firebreather (level 7)
  • Gravitube (level 9)
  • UGGA TUBE (level 13)
  • Lifesaver (level 15)
  • Xpedition (only obtained from the “Icy Infiltration” adventure)

Once your tube of choice is equipped, jump off the waterfall to be carried down the lazy river’s gentle stream. The light blue arrows in the water indicate which way the river is flowing. Remember to have hot cocoa or pizza ready if you want to complete one of the solo challenges. When your relaxing journey has ended, simply press the action button again to stow your tube.

Unfortunately, the Daily Challenges and tubes are only available for paying members. If you don’t have a Club Penguin Island membership, you can get one now for $4.99 a month. The first seven days are free. If you’re not willing to pay — or your membership trial has expired — you can still locate the lazy river and follow it, but you won’t be pushed along in a tube.
