How to Restore Oxygen in The Planet Crafter Without the Oxygen Capsule

Clever usage of game mechanics, or something that devs will fix?

Have you ever gone on a long journey in the Planet Crafter and run out of Oxygen Capsules? If you don’t want to be constrained by the limited supply of Oxygen Capsules, you’re going to need a permanent solution. I’ve found out how to restore oxygen, but you might not like it.

How to Always Have Oxygen in The Planet Crafter

To always have Oxygen in Planet Crafter, you need to build a small Living Quarter box. While you’re inside, your Oxygen levels will gradually start filling up to the max.

To build the small Living Quarter box, all you have to do is haul these six items with you at all times, and everything becomes simple from that moment onward:

  • 3x Iron
  • 2x Titanium
  • 1x Silicon

If you are going on a really, really long journey in the Planet Crafter and six capsules are not enough for you (or you just don’t have them handy), this is the best way to stop yourself from suffocating in deep space.

Once you’re done taking Oxygen, use your mouse scroll wheel to change your chip into a de-construction one and deconstruct your home to reclaim the six resources used for its creation (yes, you get a 100% refund anytime you dismantle anything).

Building a small Living Quarter is a slightly convoluted but effective way to get a fresh oxygen supply at any place and at any time. You can also plant a chain of these “rooms” on the routes you’re often taking on your resource runs, and then you do not need to deconstruct them or carry Oxygen Capsules at all.

This might be a tedious strategy to employ in the early game, but make sure to grow your settlement and work on terraforming because the more you improve the living conditions on the planet, the more technology gets unlocked for you, including bigger backpacks.

Isn’t this a lovely strategy? If you’re playing with friends, you automatically have more slots available, and you probably won’t ever need Oâ‚‚ Capsules as long as you have a dedicated chamber constructor that will make sure your party can replenish their Oxygen before passing out.

I hope this small trick will help you and your group progress faster (it did help me despite playing solo), and I invite you to check out our Planet Crafter game hub, where you’ll find useful guides such as how to get Fabric.
