Copper Golems are a unique Minecraft entity whose main purpose is to move, organize, and store items in your base. They are a helpful mob for players who love gathering and exploring, but don’t want to spend time putting things away.

How to Create a Copper Golem in Minecraft
Copper Golems are easy to summon if you have the right materials. Like Iron Golems and Snow Golems, they are made by placing specific blocks together. Making a Copper Golem only requires two blocks:
- Block of Copper
- Carved Pumpkin
Place a Block of Copper, then place a Carved Pumpkin next to it. The Block of Copper will become a Copper Chest, while the Carved Pumpkin will become the Copper Golem.
Copper Golems will oxidize, just like any other copper block in Minecraft. If you want them to stay their original color, you’ll need to wax them with honeycomb.

A Block of Copper is crafted using a Crafting Table and nine copper ingots. Interact with the Crafting Table, then fill each box in the table with a single copper ingot to make one Block of Copper.
How to Carve a Pumpkin in Minecraft
Carved Pumpkins are made by using a pair of shears on a pumpkin. Start by placing a pumpkin in the Overworld. Interact with the pumpkin while holding shears to carve it and get pumpkin seeds. You can then mine the Carved Pumpkin to pick it up and carry it in your inventory.

A Copper Golem’s main purpose is to move items from Copper Chests into normal chests around your base. They will transfer items from any Copper Chest, so you don’t need to worry about keeping track of the chest each golem spawned with. All Copper Golems will immediately begin performing this task as soon as they are created.
Like regular chests, placing two Copper Chests side by side will form a larger chest. Moving Copper Chests to do this will not interfere with the Copper Golem’s tasks. However, you will need to use at least a Stone Pickaxe to break a Copper Chest.
When a Copper Golem is moving an item, you’ll see it in its hands. If an item is stackable, it can carry up to 16 of that item. Any other items, like tools, will be carried one at a time.
After reaching a normal or trapped chest, the Copper Golem will perform a small animation while deciding to place the item in the chest. It will then either put the item away or move on to the next chest to repeat the process until it stores the item. To make sure your items are stored neatly, I recommend deciding what you want in each chest ahead of time. Afterward, put a few of each item in the chest to motivate the Copper Golems to put the same items there.
Keep in mind that Copper Golems will only move items to regular chests and trapped chests. They will ignore all other storage blocks, including chests in boats or minecarts, End Chests, Shulker Boxes, and barrels.
