How to Get a Saddle in Minecraft

Saddles are the required item for riding tameable mobs in Minecraft. You’ll need one saddle for each mob you want to ride, so you’ll want to gather plenty while exploring your world.

How to Craft a Saddle in Minecraft

Minecraft Saddle Crafting Recipe

Unlike earlier versions of Minecraft, the most recent versions now have a crafting recipe for saddles. The materials for the recipe are very cheap, making it much easier to get saddles now than ever before!

To make a saddle, players will need three pieces of leather, one iron ingot, and a Crafting Table. On the Crafting Table, place the iron ingot in the center box, then place one piece of leather above it, to its right, and to its left. This recipe will create one saddle.

Where to Find a Saddle in Minecraft

If you don’t feel like crafting a saddle, there are plenty of ways to find one while exploring. Players can find free saddles in the following locations:

• In a Blacksmith’s chest in a village.
• In a Nether Fortress’ chest.
• In a chest within the Hoglin Stables variant of a Bastion Remnant.
• In an End City ship’s chest.
• In an Abandoned Camp’s chest.
