Requirements to Enter Hateno Ancient Tech Lab

The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, as the name implies, can be found in Hateno Village. However, if you head to that location immediately, you won’t be able to enter it, since the owner, Robbie, is still in Lookout Landing. There are two key factors that will make him move to his lab:

  • Obtain the Purah Pad Camera — Josha and Robbie will tell you about their research regarding the Depths. To that end, Robbie will head to a nearby chasm just south of Lookout Landing. Once you’ve met him and acquired the Purah Pad Camera, you’ll complete this objective.
  • Complete A Mystery in the Depths — The next part involves a quest chain in the Depths itself. By following the statues, you’ll eventually reach the Great Abandoned Central Mine. After defeating a particular boss there, you’ll finish this quest.

After you’re done with the above, talk to Robbie once more. He’ll say that he’s ready to head back to his abode. You may then go to the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Hateno Ancient Tech Lab. It’s located in the Necluda region, which is quite far away. The coordinates are (3779, -2111, 0250).

As you’re heading to the southeast, don’t forget to tag various landmarks, such as Skyview Towers, Geoglyphs, and Shrines. One in particular, the Zanmik Shrine, acts as the fast travel point for Hateno Village. I personally think the puzzle in this Shrine is fairly easy, and it can be cheesed, too.

From there, simply follow the sloping path uphill, and you’ll reach Robbie’s home. He’ll also place a fast travel point for you. You may then complete various tasks for him to unlock additional Purah Pad upgrades. I suggest doing these objectives since the rewards, such as the Purah Pad Sensor and Sensor+ upgrades, are integral for exploration.

And that’s it. That’s how to find and gain access to the Totk Hateno Ancient Tech Lab. For other tips, strategies, and walkthroughs, visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub.
