The Forgotten City

\n\n

The Forgotten City is one of those creations that showcases why the PC and Xbox One mods are pretty much always going to beat out the PS4 versions (which don't allow new assets and thus can't include large new areas like this one).

\n

The "mod," which is really more of a free DLC, includes a full, extra six-hour experience beyond the base game, revolving around a murder mystery in an underground city.

\n

There's a dynamic story here with multiple possible endings, and it's frankly better written and executed than a lot of the vanilla Skyrim quests. Add in voiced characters and music on top, and this is a mod to immediately try out when you've already explored all the other nooks and crannies of the map.

Ordinator - Perks Of Skyrim

\n\n

If you've played through Skyrim repeatedly, the existing perk structure can get repetitive and boring, even after trying out different character types. Ordinator gives you a brand-new leveling experience by replacing every single perk in the game with 400 new options that all have unique names and different bonuses.

\n

Placing tripwires as a thief, planting a rallying banner for buffs as a warrior, converting healing spells into damaging holy fire as a mage, and more are all possible with these perk changes.

Diverse Dragons Collection

\n\n

More than a mod, this is actually a super mod collection that adds 28 unique dragons to the game that all look remarkably different for more variation in the game.

\n

Multiple levels of dragon strength are also added that scale with player level, ensuring a challenge no matter where you are in the game. Get ready for some serious fights, because they've all got new breath weapons as well!

Moonlight Tales Special Edition

\n\n

Much like how the archery overhaul changes ranged combat, Moonlight Tales completely and totally revamps the game's werewolf mechanics. Lunar cycle mechanics are introduced, along with an entirely new perk tree based around lycanthropic transformations, custom animations and sounds, and a lot more. If you've always wanted a more in-depth shapeshifter-type character in Skyrim, be sure to add this one to your load order straight away.

Unique Uniques

\n\n

Try saying "unique uniques" five times fast! When you're done with that, go download the mod, because it results in some killer visuals for unique weapons across the game.

\n

Weapons like the Pale Blade, Dragonbane, Angi's Bow, and Red Eagle's blade all get major retextures to look more interesting and set them apart from their standard weapon counterparts.

Apachii Sky Hair SSE Main

\n\n

If you prefer a much wider range of options over the previous smaller mod, Apachii Sky Hair is the way to go. Rather than changing the hair effects for other characters you interact with in the world, this one offers 42 new hair styles to choose for your own character. Whether male or female -- and even including some Khajiit options -- you are bound to find something you like here.

Superior Lore-Friendly Hair

\n\n

There are more than a few hair and body replacement mods out there, but this one stands apart for a couple of reasons. First up, it's significantly smaller in overall file size than the others, leaving you more room to install other Xbox One mods.

\n

The changes are also specifically meant to evoke a proper Elder Scrolls fantasy feel, so you won't get any weird, outlandish hairstyles that don't match the surroundings. All the various high-definition changes to the hair also modify a specific texture within the game -- rather than adding a new one -- so you won't run into any compatibility issues.

Apocalypse - Magic Of Skyrim

\n\n

For those who prefer a magic-slinging character over a ranged archer, this is easily the biggest and most useful mod to change up how the magic system works.

\n

155 new spells are added across all the schools of magic, complete with custom effects and animations that blend in with the existing spells. From burying a victim in the earth to conjuring another wizard to fight for you and even to lobbing volcanic lava bombs, you won't ever run out of killer new spells to try out here.

Scoped Bows SE

\n\n

Its a simple change offered here, but one that can drastically alter the way you play as a ranged combat character during a Skyrim playthrough.

\n

This mod adds a scoped variant of every single vanilla game bow (it won't put them on extra bows you've added through mods) that includes two different sights -- one for a quick shot, and one for careful aiming at a distance.

Complete Archery Overhaul

\n\n

For a radically different ranged combat experience, the Complete Archery Overhaul does exactly what it sounds like. All bows will require a bowstring to function, which must be crafted separately.

\n

The aim auto assist is disabled, and a large number of tweaks are made to how arrows function and deal damage, including major changes to the archery tree and modifications to how many arrows can stick out of an enemy at one time.

\n

The end result is something markedly different from the base gameplay, and well worth trying out if you like to play as a marksman.

Vampires Suck: No Attacks In Town

\n\n

Forget AI overhauls, enhanced weather, rich merchants, or perk tree changes. If there's one single, critical, must-install mod for Skyrim, it's this bad boy right here. I lost count of the number of times the guards in a town started attacking me because I defended myself against a sudden vampire attack.

\n

Those annoying blood suckers make it a major chore just to head into town and sell your loot, let alone try to wrap up any quests. Barring a major guard AI update from Bethesda (unlikely at this point), this mod is basically a requirement to even enjoy the game at all.

Now that the console crowd has been spoiled with mods on Bethesda games for some time, the number of options to change up the vanilla experience for Skyrim has absolutely exploded.

\n

Even years later, you can consistently get entirely new ways to play the game and completely new ways to see it with graphics overhauls. With more than 7,000 mods now floating around for Xbox One, sifting through the dreck to find the most useful mods becomes quite a chore.

\n

That's where we come in, finding all the best mods you should be using for Skyrim in 2018. We're going to assume you already know that you should download the unofficial Skyrim patch, grab the cheat room, and install the enhanced blood textures. If you didn't already know that, well, now you do!

\n

Past those basic mods, here are 11 must-have mods available right now, including the best bow mods, archery mods, and hair mods for Skyrim Special Edition on the Xbox One.

For those jumping into modding this new version of the game, any of these mods installed through the Nexus Mod Manager will work with Skyrim VR with a little tweaking (check out the video guide below to learn more). Or(!) you can use the Vortex manager directly to get mods immediately working with Skyrim VR.

These were the best Skyrim Nexus mods we've been able to get working with the VR version of the game so far. What did you think of our list, and what mods do you consider absolutely essential to the Skyrim VR experience? Let us know in the comments!

Skyrim VR Mod: Custom Favorites Menu VR

Followers that get in your way, rush to their deaths, or just behave oddly can kill immersion in Skyrim VR, but with a mod like this one, followers become more useful and less annoying.

Skyrim VR Mod: JK's Skyrim

\n

Download on Nexus Mods

\n

While Skyrim is absolutely huge, much of it can feel empty between towns and dungeons. To combat that issue, JK's Skyrim mod adds in a massive lore-friendly (and thankfully script-free) overhaul of the entire base game.

\n

All of the major Skyrim towns -- from Windhelm to Dawnstar -- get big expansions that add in more vendors, buildings, and lore details. The mod even tweaks allegiances for towns guards, with dynamic banners that change based on your actions over the course of the game.

Skyrim VR Mod: Immersive Armors

Let's just keep the immersion train chugging along with this graphics enhancement mod. To keep your eyes glued to the inside of your helmet, we definitely recommend a mod like Immersive Armors, which adds in new clothing options for everyone in Skyrim VR -- players, companions, and NPCs.

\n

This mod drastically increases the variety of armors found in Skyrim, but it does so without breaking the lore or changing the visual style of the base game.

Skyrim VR Mod: Book Covers of Skyrim

\n

Download on Nexus Mods

\n

Just like the HD Signs mod on the previous slide, this Skyrim VR mod makes a small change that greatly impacts immersion.

\n

Most of the vanilla Skyrim's books are a dime a dozen on the outside. Even if they have unique stories within, their covers can leave a lot to be desired.

This mod re-textures absolutely every single readable book, journal, and note in the game, giving them all unique covers. It even changes different paper types between books.

Skyrim VR Mod: HD Signs

\n

Download on Nexus Mods

\n

It's a fact that current-gen VR can get blurry. Depending on what you're trying to focus on and from what angle, text can be a pain in the ass to read. In a game like Skyrim, which is filled to the brim with signs and books (not to mention the in-game map you use all the time), that's a bit of a problem.

\n

That's where the HD Signs mod makes a really small change into a really big quality of life upgrade. Not only does the mod help with immersion, it helps with the very literal headache vanilla Skyrim VR can give you from all the squinting it forces you to do.

Skyrim VR Mod: Vivid Weather Definitive Edition

\n

Download on Nexus Mods

\n

Being inside Skyrim is a lot different than looking at it from the outside. When you're playing Skyrim VR on the Oculus or HTC Vive, you don't take things like weather and huge cliffs for granted.

\n

That's why it's important for every little grain of sand, every drop of water, and every flak of snow to look downright gorgeous. That's where this mod comes in to play.

\n

Better weather effects revamps the whole color scheme of the game and provides an increased level of immersion while trekking from Whiterun to the College Of Winterhold. Couple this with the Skyrim 2017 textures mod, and you'll be in a brand-new Elder Scrolls worlds you never knew existed.

Skyrim VR Mod: Immersive Citizens

\n

It's true that the phrases "Skyrim NPCs" and "gameplay immersion" don't necessarily go hand in hand. Guards that take arrows to the head, wander around for a minute, and then say, "Huh, guess it was nothing" are very much an immersion-breaking problem.

\n

And in Skyrim VR, that's not something you really want.

\n

This mod deals with these types of issues by tweaking the AI of NPCs to make them act more like real people, which is good unless you like stupid NPCs. To each their own.

Skyrim VR Mod: Skyrim 2017 Textures

\n

Download on Nexus Mods

\n

Without question, this is the first graphical mod you want to install for Skyrim VR.

\n

While playing Skyrim from a first-person, VR perspective can be jaw-dropping, the luster will quickly wear off as you realize that the original 2011 textures are being used (for some reason).

\n

Despite how good gameplay can be in Skyrim VR, looks do matter after a while. So if you want to look at characters and locations that don't seem tailor-made for the Xbox 360, this updated texture mod is simply a basic requirement for an immersive gameplay experience.

Skyrim VR Mod: VR Mirror

\n

Download on Nexus Mods

\n

Although you'll still probably spend hours customizing your character in Skyrim VR, the virtual reality version doesn't give you many opportunities to actually see your character.

\n

That's where the VR Mirror mod comes into play. This stop-gap mod adds a mirror feature into the game that lets you directly look at yourself to make sure you've got your character's appearance exactly the way you intended.

\n

It might not be a big deal, but whether you're playing on the Oculus or the Vive, looking badass is half the fun of Skyrim. And if you're looking for more immersive gameplay, this is a must-have addition.

To be totally honest, I don't actually think Skyrim lives up to its hype ... but playing Skyrim VR is a radically different experience that overshadows many of the game's flaws.

\n

Traditionally, Bethesda PC games are best when modded into infinity, and that remains the case with Skyrim VR.

\n

According to official word from Bethesda, mods aren't supported and aren't even supposed to work at all for Skyrim VR. But as many players have discovered, Nexus Mods is full of juicy goodness -- and many will load (to varying levels of success) as long as the mod in question doesn't rely on the Skyrim Script Extender (which sadly means most of the nudie mods aren't functional yet).

\n

Due to the nature of VR and changes to the game between versions, some of the game's texture mods can behave oddly, and you might get some buggy behavior with mods that drastically change the base gameplay, but overall, most of your favorite Nexus mods are workable with Skyrim VR.

\n

In the next few slides, we cover the best PC mods you should download immediately to make Skyrim VR even more immersive!

The Grim and Somber ENBs

\n

Skyrim version can be downloaded here.

\n

Dark Souls and Skyrim are all about atmosphere, and they both nail it -- in their own respective ways. But if you want to bring Skyrim's atmosphere closer to Dark Souls', you can do to Skyrim what every fantasy and sci-fi film director has done to their own works: add post-processing effects!

\n

... or, have someone else do it for you!

\n

The Grim and Somber ENBs are a collection of ENB post-processing presets meant to give Skyrim a darker mood. Don’t worry, it’s not as hard as it looks to install -- just follow the instructions and you’ll be good to go!

\n

If none of the Grim and Somber ENB presets are to your taste (or you’re playing Skyrim Special Edition), just be aware that there are tons of ENB presets available at Nexus Mods -- you can find them all here (or here if you’re playing Skyrim Special Edition.)

\n

Given the depth of Skyrim's modding scene, I'm sure there are plenty of mods that could fit on this list. Let me know of any that I may have missed!

Lock-On

\n

Skyrim version can be downloaded here.

\n

Skyrim doesn’t have the same omnidirectional camera movement that the Souls games have -- if you have your weapon drawn and you turn your camera, your character turns in that direction too. This makes a lock-on system less of a necessity, but like tumbling, the lock-on system is a pretty big part of Souls combat.

\n

As far as customization goes, this mod is pretty straightforward, but if you find that the default lock-on texture isn’t to your liking, there’s a Dark Souls-themed texture replacer you can check out.

\n

Unfortunately, there is no version of this mod currently available for Skyrim Special Edition. However, the Simple Face to Face Conversion mod has a Simple Lock-On Alpha listed under miscellaneous files that you might want to give a try.

SkyrimSouls -- Unpaused Game Menu

\n\n

With “SkyrimSouls” in its title, there can be no mistake about which audience this mod was intended for -- though of course, players looking for a more immersive Skyrim experience will appreciate the mod’s function all the same.

\n

SkyrimSouls -- Unpaused Game Menu does exactly what it says: it stops in-game menus from pausing the game. This means that you won’t be able to open your inventory to pause combat, chug five healing potions, swap out your armor, eat a wheel of cheese, and then resume combat. The mod is also highly configurable, and you’ll be able to pick and choose which menus you want exempt from the modified menu behavior (for example, you may not want the game to continue running while the system menu is open).

\n

(If you really want to crack down on the potion chugging, you may want to check out Potions Animated, which forces the player character through a drinking animation whenever they consume a potion.)

VIGILANT

\n\n

With VIGILANT, your character becomes a Vigilant of Stendarr tasked with keeping the holds of Skyrim safe from the encroaching darkness. However, things get a little more complicated when a Daedric Prince takes an interest in the Dragonborn.

\n

VIGILANT is divided into four parts (all included in the mod), taking you on a journey that will bring you to some truly Souls-esque set pieces to fight some equally Souls-esque enemies. VIGILANT also doubles as a weapon & armor mod, and you’ll be able to pick up some setting-appropriate equipment (there’s actually even some Bloodborne stuff in there) as you progress through the story.

\n

Also note that while the base mod is not voice acted, the Skyrim Voice Alliance produced an English voice acting add-on for the mod -- you can get it here!

Wildcat -- Combat of Skyrim

\n\n

One of the Souls series’ hallmark features is the lethality of combat, and it’s not just the player who’s fragile; most of the enemies your size will fall after three or four hits as well.

\n

There are quite a few highly configurable combat overhauls available for Skyrim that make combat deadlier for all parties involved, but Wildcat in particular is fairly lightweight and adds a few extra mechanics that many Souls veterans will find familiar.

\n
    \n
  • Stamina costs for all attacks, not just power attacks
  • \n
  • Faster stamina (and magicka) regeneration
  • \n
  • Staggering is more common (though I’d probably disable the injury system)
  • \n
  • Increased damage dealt to characters in the middle of an attack
  • \n
\n

However, if you've already got a combat overhaul that you like, that should do the job just fine.

TK Dodge

\n\n

What would Dark Souls be without dodge rolling? Well, the game would still be beatable for some people, but for the majority of players, it just wouldn’t be the same. Nexus Mods user tktk1 has produced quite a number of highly rated mods for the website (and I recommend checking them out), and amongst the most popular is TK Dodge, which adds a configurable dodge roll to the game.

\n

You’ll be able to change the dodge’s input method (e.g., double-tapping a movement key to dodge vs. using a dedicated dodge hotkey), adjust the stamina cost and the invincibility frame duration of the dodge, and even choose between two different dodge animations!

Skyrim is a pretty popular game -- so popular, in fact, that Bethesda can't seem to stop themselves from re-releasing it on as many platforms as it'll fit on!

\n

However, even a game as well regarded as Skyrim has its flaws, as evidenced by the numerous overhauls and tweaks available through mods for the game. Now, you could try to enhance your Skyrim playthrough by downloading a couple of random mods that happen to catch your eye, but you might be better off tailoring your game to build a more cohesive experience.

\n

For example, why not try modding Skyrim to emulate the gameplay of another third-person, medieval fantasy action-RPG that's actually renowned for its combat?

\n

Here are six mods that'll bring your Skyrim run a little closer to Dark Souls.

What did you think of our six best Skyrim total conversion picks here, and are there any others we missed that should get added?

Beyond these finished mods, there are plenty more in development, like Skyblivion (exactly like it sounds, porting all of the quests and locations from Oblivion into Skyrim) or the Nordic-inspired Hoddminir total conversion project. Others, like the horror-focused Virus mod, are currently under review and no longer up for download, but hopefully they will return soon.

Skyrim Redone

Although it doesn't transport your character to an entirely new area or flood the game with new quests and voice acting, Skyrim Redone is still so extensive an overhaul of the base game that it practically qualifies as a total conversion.

\n

Essentially everything about the mechanics of the game is revamped or totally changed with this mod, from completely redone racial modifiers to vastly expanded skills, radically altered combat, and a host of other tweaks to encounter scaling and much, much more.

The guide to what all exactly is changed with the mod is more than a hundred pages long, so that ought to tell you just how extensively Skyrim is altered here.

Beyond Reach

Although this mod isn't quite done yet, it is much farther along than other mods of its scale and can currently be downloaded and played. You essentially get an unofficial DLC here, with a vast new area in the east of High Rock and a bunch of additional quests based heavily around exploration.

A whole lot of work went into this one, with an entirely new soundtrack created just for Falksaar, along with a bunch of new items, spells, and even shouts arriving along with the new area.

Vigilant

\n

Bringing a whole lot of Darks Souls or Bloodborne influence into The Elder Scrolls, this mod adds in four new chapters, complete with new areas that play with the concept of the Vigilants of Stendarr standing against the forces of Oblivion.

\n

Each chapter builds on the last, pulling you in and constantly increasing in quality and length. A little over halfway through, the Vigilant mod basically goes full throttle into horror, providing a very different experience than your standard Skyrim playthrough.

Beyond Skyrim: Bruma

Download Beyond Skyrim: Bruma Here

\n

The massive Beyond Skyrim project seeks to add all the lands of Tamriel into the Skyrim experience. Instead of only being able to explore within the borders of the game's namesake nation, this gigantic work-in-progress will eventually add in Morrowind, Elswyr, Atmora, Iliac Bay, and many other locations across the continent.

\n

That's sort of an Elder Scrolls fanatic's dream come true, although it still remains a dream for now. At the moment, most of these mods are still very much in-progress affairs, but Bruma is now fully available for download, letting your Skyrim character explore locations like Frostcrag Spire, Cloud Ruler Temple, and Frostfire Glade.

\n

The city of Bruma itself features a huge cast of additional characters with their own quests and voice acting, drastically expanding out the base game. What you get now is already pretty amazing, but when the entire set of mods is done, Beyond Skyrim is going to be jaw-dropping.

Enderal: The Shards Of Order

\n

Download Enderal Here

\n

If there's one Skyrim mod that best stands as an example of what is possible to achieve with a total overhaul, it would easily be Enderal. The mod presents an entirely new world with its own characters, lore, races, and history completely separate from The Elder Scrolls universe, even featuring all-new voice acting.

\n

Enderal takes place in the land of Vyn and serves as the sequel to the previous Oblivion total overhaul mod, Nehrim. Much like with the base Skyrim, you could easily sink 80 or more hours into Enderal, exploring every nook and cranny and finding all the various quests and characters.

\n

If you like the idea of an open-world RPG like Skyrim but aren't keen on the dumbed-down RPG elements or the story-lite approach, Enderal is frankly a better experience than the base game, with a more compelling story.

Honestly, there's no need to really ever leave the frozen Skyrim expanse, though, as hundreds of thousands of mods out there can keep you coming back for years to come.

\n

The biggest of these radically change the game to such a degree that they qualify as total conversions -- a mythical status of mods that has given the gaming community such gems as DotACounter-Strike, Day Z, and Garry's Mod in the past.

The State of Skyrim Mods https://www.gameskinny.com/hdoza/the-state-of-skyrim-mods https://www.gameskinny.com/hdoza/the-state-of-skyrim-mods Tue, 19 Dec 2017 19:44:25 -0500 Sarah Elliman

Ever since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s release in 2011, there has been a massive modding community continually adding content to the game over time. We have probably all delighted in turning the dragons into Thomas the Tank Engine or My Little Ponies, but does the modding community go too far sometimes? Have the insane number of mods completely eclipsed the original game and with Bethesda taking such an active role in their production, what does that mean for the company?

No. I believe that the mods are what make Skyrim what it is today, for the players and the company. Over the years, mods have added so much to the game, and as a result, many people still play it to this day. A lot of the mods for Skyrim add unique content that allow the world of Skyrim to develop and remain interesting.

Quality Enhancements or My Little Pony?

The reason the modding community is so fantastic for Skyrim is because of the quality of the mods that it has produced. These modders have poured their lives and souls into these mods to create a more immersive world that is easier to traverse. The modding community has added everything from more spells, better maps, and a greater range of armor and weapons to make the experience more interesting. Skyrim's mods are especially useful if you have played the game before, since going back and altering your experience greatly adds to the replayability of the game.

With mods, you don’t have to be constrained to the original formula of the game; you truly can have it your way with the help of mods. RPGs are meant to give you the freedom to create your own story and path, so mods are a perfect fit for the genre and help to enhance this goal. Sure, you have the option to be silly with it and turn all the spiders into Spiderman, but if that’s how you want to play the game, go for it! The silliness on the one hand, compared to the enhancements and extra content that modding also brings to Skyrim is what makes it amazing.

Have Mods Pushed Skyrim Into a Dark, Forgotten Corner?

Of course, there are a ton of mods available to download for Skyrim, so it could easily be argued that this eclipses the experience the developers originally intended. On the contrary, though, I believe it enhances every aspect within Skyrim, and that is because the people who make these mods love the game. They take what they would have liked from the game and spend their time crafting these things to add into it. Mods like more diverse dragons, better AI, and alternative openings add to the overall experience of the game. Additionally, that these mods take aspects from the original game and tweak it to fit the desires of the players is what allowed such a devoted following to develop.

The mods don’t completely overhaul the game, and a lot of the time only add small aspects or changes to the original content. The alternative opening mod is one of my favorites, as you feel as though you have customized absolutely everything about your character's origin. When you put so much time into a character over the course of the game, it's fantastic to be able to craft certain important aspects of their life from the beginning.

Projects like Beyond Skyrim are incredible, and if you haven’t checked out their project then it is well worth a look. The aim of Beyond Skyrim is to create all the areas within Tamriel, and this adds such openness and diversity to the game that wasn’t there before. It will take time to create everything, of course, but just imagine going back into Skyrim and being able to explore areas that have only ever been mentioned. Bruma is the only place to be added so far to the world of Tamriel, but it is a step in the right direction. Simply from Nexus Mods alone, it has had over 9,000 endorsements, nearly 2 million views, and nearly 500,000 downloads. The desire for quality content is at it's highest, so it's only natural that the best content will continue to be made.

These mods don’t eclipse the game; they bring it back into the light--and into the public eye. It makes people want to play Skyrim again and create an entirely new story, adding details and story elements to the game that highlight the already amazing world and story that had been created by Bethesda.

How Does Bethesda Profit?

Speaking of Bethesda, you do have to wonder whether the ability to access mods freely is good or bad for the company. This is a much more nuanced topic, with slight variations between the PC versions and the current generation of consoles.

First, we'll tackle the free mods you can download for PC. Although Bethesda doesn’t gain anything from this, it did push them into their Creation Club, which is available for PS4 XBOX One and PC.

The free mods are undeniably an issue for Bethesda if we are looking at it purely from a money-making view. They gain nothing directly from people creating and downloading mods in a monetary sense. So you could perhaps state that the access to free mods is a bad thing, at least when it comes to the company. They have to make money to create more games, but we know Skyrim is a resounding success anyway. Even in 2015, Bethesda had sold 22.7 million units of Skyrim, taking into account the re-master and the figures.

Therefore, we know it isn't about the money. Of course, companies like to continue to make more, but Skyrim has done well. Thus, it must be assumed that Bethesda does not need the money that could be made off of mods, which shows that the free mods don't harm the company and their ability to make and support the games they have in their repertoire. In fact, having a more open approach when it comes to mods perhaps does more good than bad. Many people play Skyrim strictly for the mods on PC, so it continues to bring in people and ensure they, and others, continue to play the game again and again.

The Creation Club allows modders and content creators to get paid for their mods and for them to go through an entire development process. Ensuring that the mods are up to standard and that the content being created is of a high priority. It also allowed mods to become available for consoles, instead of just being limited to PC, allowing the community and freedom of modding to move from the computer into other areas as well. Considering that you must pay for the mods through Creation Club, it is fantastic for Bethesda in terms of profit. They continue to have people play the game and spend money on it, while bringing something to Skyrim on console that people have always dreamed of.

However, Creation Club was not without controversy, and technically you could blame mods that were already available for PC. A lot of players were outraged about having to pay for mods that had originally been free, but Bethesda is openly supporting modders in the community, and companies must make money. There would not be another Fallout or Elder Scrolls game without the capital behind Bethesda. Sometimes you must take the good along with the bad.

But why is this good for Bethesda? Well other than the slight controversy over the paid mods, people are still playing and downloading mods for the game. In addition, the recent remaster  bought more people onto the Skyrim scene than ever before, along with hardcore fans willing to pay to play on their new console. Mods draw people into Skyrim, and Bethesda has realized the community is massive. By allowing these mods and encouraging them, they are also encouraging new and veteran players to buy and continue playing the game.

---

Mods are where the heart of Skyrim is, and I can’t count the amount of times people have spoken to me about mods, whether it’s because they couldn’t get them on their XBOX 360 version or because they downloaded so many on their PC. Mods have enhanced Skyrim and will continue to do so. Considering that projects like Beyond Skyrim are only just getting started, there will eventually be so many more options to explore in the world of Tamriel, far more than Bethesda could have envisioned to begin with. The openness and access to mods make the game lovable, ensuring that players continue to return to the game again and again.

Hopefully, you've got enough mods on hand now to transform any game in your Steam library into its scariest version!

\n

Of course, there's a whole lot more available out there than just the 10 listed here, with plenty more creepy add-ons for all your favorite games available through services like Nexus Mods or the Steam Workshop. If you can't get enough mods to try out this autumn season, check out last year's roundup of horror mods here!

Minecraft: P.T. Silent Hills Map

\n

Download the P.T. Silent Hills Map Mod Here

\n

Five months of painstaking work went into creating this map, and man does it ever show! Some insane Minecraft fanatic recreated the legendary Silent Hills P.T. playable demo to inject some serious horror into the block building, open world phenomena.

\n

The pounding on the doors. The radio text. Absolutely everything from the (sadly) canceled Silent Hills demo has been lovingly recreated in pixelated form here. We might not ever get the full game, but this mashup experience is a nice consolation prize.

Goat Simulator: Slender Survival

\n

Download the Slender Survival Mod Here

\n

Somehow, Slenderman has even managed to sink his fingers into the already-insane world of Goat Simulator, everybody's favorite dumb, time waster of a buggy tech demo.

\n

This mod puts you in a dark survival mode, with a Slendergoat chasing close behind. Couple it with the Goat Simulator first-person mod and you're basically playing Slender: The Arrival, just with a moronic goat who has no bones and can fly.

Garry's Mod: FNAF And Beyond!

\n\n

Considering the whole point of Garry's Mod is to change and add in new things, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that there is a horde of horror-themed Steam Workshop add-ons for the game.

\n

Seriously, just hit the Workshop and randomly search for the name of any horror movie or game you can think of and something is almost certain to pop up.

Some of the best mods available include Five Nights At Freddy's, SOMA, Amnesia, and even Alien: Isolation, where modders have worked hard to make the models behave much like they do in their original games. Get ready to be terrified of a fast running Foxy all over again!

Arma III: Baphomet

Download the Baphomet Mod Here

\n

We recently took a look at the best all-time mods for the hyper-difficult military shooter Arma III, and Baphomet proudly stands among them -- whether it's Halloween or any other time of year.

\n

Melding together the tactical shooter genre with a storyline akin to Hellgate: London, Baphomet has your squad battling demons and zombies in a fiery hellscape as the denizens of the pit have spilled onto Earth. It's legitimately creepy and a whole new way to experience the Arma franchise.

Crysis: The Worry Of Newport

\n

Download The Worry of Newport Mod Here

\n

This one deserves major kudos for drastically changing the Crysis base game, shifting it from a sci-fi action shooter to an atmospheric Lovecraftian horror game that's slow moving and all about investigation rather than running and gunning.

\n

The Worry Of Newport mod is much more focused on narrative and horror overtones than fast-paced gameplay, so if you dig the idea of playing through a book (or enjoy games like Myst and the 7th Guest, just scarier), this is definitely one to try out.

Skyrim: Freddy Krueger

\n

Download the Freddy Krueger Mod Here

\n

The illustrious Skyrim modding community has added in characters from so many other franchises that I doubt I could even find them all in a full day of searching -- let alone download and install even a fraction of them.

\n

But that means that horror- and Halloween-themed characters most definitely have not been left out, with the Headless Horseman and many other figures from myth and legend added to this open world fantasy game.

\n

However, one of the most bizarre (and kind of amazing) has got to be Freddy Krueger. I mean, someone clearly put a lot of work into this mod, even if it doesn't fit the game at all. It has nothing to do with Skyrim and is beyond lore breaking, but it's also pretty awesome. Go ahead and kill Freddy, loot his dream chest, and become the clawed nightmare yourself!

Skyrim: The Evil Mansion

Every time I think I've seen the pinnacle of what the modding community can accomplish, I'm consistently proven wrong by something even bigger and better than what's come before.

This latest jaw-droppingly awesome mod for a Bethesda game recreates the first Resident Evil inside Skyrim. Yep, all of it -- even the dogs jumping through the window in the hallway.

Skyrim: Epic Halloween Overhaul

\n

Download the Epic Halloween Overhaul Mod Here

\n

If you only get one Halloween-themed Skyrim mod this year, this is unquestionably the one to get. It's got everything all in one bundle: new quests, new locations, and new skins. To top it all off, there are even pumpkin and Halloween light decorations placed everywhere to complete the vibe.

\n

Sadly, this mod isn't compatible with Skyrim: Special Edition, and it takes a little elbow grease to get working in the vanilla game because it's actually three different mod install files instead of one. But the results are well worth the work.

Fallout New Vegas: Obscurum Pandemic

\n

Download the Obscurum Pandemic Mod Here

\n

One-half survival simulator in the vein of PUBG or Battle Royale and one-half post-apocalyptic horror game, Obscurum Pandemic is a total overhaul of Fallout: New Vegas in the truest sense of the term.

\n

This is an entirely different experience than what you normally get playing as the courier. The character creation and leveling processes have been radically altered, all the vanilla NPCs are gone, new warring factions are added, and monsters galore have now invaded the New Vegas wasteland.

Fallout 4: Pilgrim -- Dread The Commonwealth

\n

Download This Scary Fallout 4 Mod Here

\n

The only appropriate response to this overhaul mod is a simple Keanu-Reeves-inspired, "Woah." Pilgrim -- Dread the Commonwealth drastically changes Fallout 4's tone by changing up the game's color filters and weather, creating a dreary and gritty atmosphere inspired by horror flick The Witch.

\n

But that's not all. Everything gets a creepy remake here, from the terrain to faithful hound companion Dogmeat (who, for now, is just a bit scarier version of his current self. However, in a future update, he will be replaced entirely with the Satanic goat Black Phillip).

For the best scary Fallout 4 experience, combine Pilgrim with the smallest setting on the Pip Boy Flashlight mod and install the Commonwealth Connifers Redux mod for a more forested feel in line with the movie.

The glory of autumn has finally arrived, which for my family means an unrelenting onslaught of 31 solid days of horror! That's right, we only watch scary flicks, read horror novels, and play creepy renditions of video games for all 31 days of October.

\n

Sometimes that's a tall order on the gaming front considering the relative dearth of horror games in the gaming world, but those who are willing to try diving into the mod community will find that nearly any game you can think of will have some kind of Halloween recreation or scary mod attached to it.

\n

From truly scary total overhauls that add in completely new storylines to silly pumpkin skins simply added for aesthetics, there's something for everyone when it comes to Halloween mods.

There's a ton of stuff to do in Skyrim's base game, and players have all the freedom they could ask for to play the game the way they want to. But when you add mods into the mix, the possibilities really do become endless.

\n

Mods add all kinds of things to the game -- more weapons, graphical updates, extra quests, new areas, and more. Among the more helpful of these mods are armor mods, which add new armor sets or change existing armor. Whether it's new rings to boost your magical power or a never-before-seen armor sets made from strange materials, these mods have a lot to offer players.

If you're an Xbox One player, uncovering good armor mods can be a little bit more difficult than it is for PC players. So we've rounded up the best armor mods that are available in the Skyrim mod marketplace for Xbox One.

Want to play through Skyrim as a Dothraki horse warrior who is really, really out of his element if the frozen peaks of the north? This mod gets you a little bit closer with the traditional Dothraki Arakh Blade seen in the first season of the show (and again later when Daenarys finally takes control of the hordes).

Although this mod includes several different weapons, the real reason to get it is for Ice. While the other weapons are fine, they don't particularly look like their GoT counterparts. Sounds Of Westeros

This one really immerses you in the feel of the TV show, offering up an additional element to accompany all those visual mods and new followers from A Song Of Ice and Fire. All 29 songs from the first season soundtrack are injected into the game, replacing the original music in a variety of locations and scenarios.

\n

There's a big catch here though, the mod obviously doesn't include the music itself, as that's copyrighted and the legit mod sites would ban that sort of thing right away.

\n

In order to make the mod work, you have to actually own the soundtrack to Season One, which you can easily buy online via various digital music outlets.

The city of Solitude already has a bit of a King's Landing feel, so it makes sense to further that by throwing a ton of Lannister guards in there. There are a whole bunch of these new companions available based on book/TV show characters, and frankly a lot of them are awful. Most of them look nothing like the actors they are trying to emulate.

Editor's note: Updated 4/14/19

\n

The final season of the biggest television event in history has officially begun. And after years of waiting, Game of Thrones is almost over.

\n

That makes it a perfect time to make the strongholds of Skyrim feel a little more like Winterfell with some killer mods! Here we look at 10 of the best current mods available to give Skyrim a proper Game Of Thrones feel, from adding in followers based off the show to new armor and weapons and even a direwolf mount.

\n

Easily the biggest and most ambitious Song Of Ice And Fire universe mod that arrived for Skyrim was the "Game Of Thrones Adaptation," which you'll note is conspicuously absent. That's because the original version is no longer available while the modder puts together a new, updated edition that has been in the works for a good long time now. Fingers crossed it gets finished soon!

Bethesda Is Never Going to Stop Milking Skyrim. Never. https://www.gameskinny.com/tr3zj/bethesda-is-never-going-to-stop-milking-skyrim-never https://www.gameskinny.com/tr3zj/bethesda-is-never-going-to-stop-milking-skyrim-never Tue, 27 Jun 2017 16:23:32 -0400 LuckyJorael

Skyrim – for better or for worse – has been the standard set for RPGs since its release in 2011. In the past 6 years, Skyrim has sold a staggering 23 million units, which doesn’t quite break the top 10 best-selling games of all time list, but has earned Bethesda well over a billion dollars in revenue.

With the announcement of Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch and VR platforms, it appears that Bethesda won’t stop milking their prize cow anytime soon. Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch appears to be a straight port, with the exception of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild themed gear -- which has been available in some form or fashion via modding for a long time on PC -- and Skyrim VR is... exactly what it sounds like, complete with disjointed, floating hands. While making a decent port of a game isn't exactly easy, Bethesda seems to be devoting all of their considerable time and energy to recreating Skyrim's success on different platforms, and not, say, Elder Scrolls VI.

However, new variations on the same title aren’t the only way that Bethesda hopes to continue capitalizing on their success. Their second attempt at paid mods seemingly seeks to profit off of Skyrim for years to come.

Bethesda’s new Creation Club is Paid Mods 2.0, but the difference is how they’re going about doing it. Bethesda is giving mod authors who use Creation Club status as game developers, instead of modders. Bethesda is continuing to support a 6-year-old game in a business where franchises like Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed see releases almost every year. This means that much like other games have a Live Team, Bethesda will have a dedicated Skyrim team that's set to assist modders in continuing to pump out new content for the game.

However, even without a reimbursed modding community or an active Live Team, Skyrim has a truly dumbfounding amount of extra, free content available in the form of mods. Any fan of the title who has even thought about modding Skyrim can attest to this. Nexusmods, one of the larger repositories of free content for games, boasts over 53,000 mods for Skyrim -- which is the most of any game on the site. This includes everything from minor changes in experience gain to major overhauls of the perk system.

While players are often encouraged to donate to mod authors, it is only ever voluntary. Even the most ambitious mods for Skyrim – full-on expansions like Moonpath to Elsweyr and Falskaar – are free, with the hope that some players will donate to the authors.

What Bethesda appears to be expecting, however, are smaller, more polished mods. Pictures from Bethesda’s announcement include a fancy bow, a crab with a Dwemer skin, a “survival mode” and something called “The Grey Cowl Returns!” Nothing displayed so far even approaches the length or complexity of the mods available for free from Nexusmods, Steam Workshop, or even the mods available through Xbox One. And a quick perusal through Nexusmods shows that while there are no exact replicas of the mods from Bethesda’s announcement – “survival mode” aside, as there are at least a dozen mods for that – there are quite a few mods that are similar.

So if originality and complexity are out the window, why should gamers pay for Creation Club mods? Bethesda appears to be banking on quality and stability, which Skyrim and Fallout 4 are definitely known for (That's sarcasm, by the way; Bethesda RPGs are historically janky.). For sake of argument, however, let’s say that Bethesda achieves that goal of stability and that all the Creation Club mods play nice with each other. Maybe the mods are a higher quality than teased in the announcement, as well! If the mods have everything going for them -- we're talking about best case scenario here -- they still cost players money.

While modders might not care to line Bethesda's pockets any more than they already have, the potential for a paycheck will be hard to refuse. Others, still, might be drawn to the promise of support from a team of Bethesda coders and artists. In turn, what Bethesda wants from these Creation Club members – who are most often modders or junior game developers by any other name – are mods that will sell. Make no mistake: Creation Club is designed to make Bethesda money first and foremost; modders are merely being allowed to have a cut.

One of the potentially more worrying moves made by Bethesda thus far leads credence to this idea. Much like many other AAA titles and developers, Bethesda has decided that you need to first purchase their own currency which you will then use to buy the Creation Club mods. But hiding prices behind their own currency only comes across an obvious ploy to obfuscate the costs of digital products.

Let's say that Creation Club currency is a 1-to-1 transfer between U.S. Dollars and energy symbols. That means that the fancy bow from the announcement is $3.00, the Dwarven Crab reskin is $1.50, survival mode is $5.00, and The Gray Cowl Returns! is $2.00. Are any of those individual skins really worth that price? Even if these prices were halved I'd probably not be interested in any of that content.

In fact, I'd argue that starting a new paid mods program for a game with so many existing free mods of such variety and quality actually only hurts Bethesda's cause. For these reasons, Bethesda needs to have a very compelling reason for players to shell out cash for digital content that is extremely similar to what’s available to them already for free

Wyrmstooth, a DLC-sized mod for Skyrim

Maybe Creation Club is a way for former mod authors and would-be game designers to create high-quality add-ons and content for beloved games while gaining experience with real developers. Maybe players will be able to purchase things akin to full-on DLC expansions through the service, and the outcries from players will be ignored as Skyrim is revitalized through new, high-quality content.

But Bethesda has to step up their game, especially since Paid Mods 1.0 went so poorly. Because from where we are standing, this is merely the latest step in Bethesda's campaign to milk their most successful product dry in absence of making Elder Scrolls VI. In the end, maybe all we’ll get from this is Crab Armor. (Thanks to reddit user MrMoldovan)

Bethesda's Creation Club Is Setting a Dangerous Precedent https://www.gameskinny.com/jejx7/bethesdas-creation-club-is-setting-a-dangerous-precedent https://www.gameskinny.com/jejx7/bethesdas-creation-club-is-setting-a-dangerous-precedent Wed, 14 Jun 2017 12:30:22 -0400 StraightEdge434

During Bethesda's E3 conference on June 11, the developer made an extremely controversial announcement that this upcoming summer, paid "mods" will be making their way to Fallout 4 and Skyrim Remastered for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

If you've played Elder Scrolls on PC in years past, this probably sounds horribly familiar to you. Many of us shudder to think back to when Bethesda and Valve made a similar (and ultimately fatal) mistake back in 2015, after they tried to introduce a paid modding structure for Skyrim via Steam Workshop.

It seems like history is repeating itself.

When Valve announced that purchasable mods would be making their way to to the PC version of Skyrim on Steam, the backlash was severe. Modders and players alike completely shunned the whole thing -- appalled at the idea that of paying for mods just to enhance their game and do silly things like turning all dragons into Thomas the Tank Engine. In fact, the backlash was so harsh that Valve pulled the cord on the entire thing and issued refunds to those who had already purchased mods.

Why did players and modders alike lose their minds about it? The answer is simple -- up until that point, mods were free. And the typical mindset of those involved in the modding community -- whether creators or consumers -- was that mods should be free, because players have already paid their dues by purchasing the base game, plus Season Passes and DLCs. So why should they pay extra for something fan-made that enhances their gaming experience?

Mods are created by the community, and those that create them do it because it's their hobby. Modding is basically a pastime for most creators, and many of them aren't really looking for any compensation for the work they do. They welcome positive feedback from users, as well as donations from those who can afford to support them that way. But when an external publisher tries to take that hobby and try to monetize it, things start to heat up.

Paid mods were especially problematic for both makers and fans because modders weren't getting 100% of the money that was being paid for the mods they'd created. They weren't even getting 50%. Valve was taking a 30% cut, and Bethesda was taking another 45% -- leaving modders with just 25% of the payoff for a project they put 100% of the work into. The majority of players agreed that this was incredibly unfair, as Valve and BethSoft both were making money off the backs of passionate fans who were working for free.

So when Bethesda reintroduced the idea at this year's E3, a lot of people took up arms immediately. Just take a look at the Skyrim subreddit right now to see how angry fans actually are.

Is the Creation Club any different from actual mods?

If you look at the official page on Bethesda's site, Bethesda uses the words, "collection of all new content" and proceeds to describe that content as weapons, creatures, apparel, etc. So, how is this any different from regular mods? The truth is, it isn't. This "collection of new content" is just another sneaky way to mask the word "mods" -- because Bethesda for sure knows if it uses that word, it will relive the fan backlash from 2015.

In fact, Bethesda is trying so hard not to use the word "mods" that if you scroll down all the way to end of the page (the FAQ section), and take a look at the very last question, you'll see how desperately (and poorly might I add) the studio is trying not to call the Creation Club as mods. But the thing is, all that content that will be created by the Creation Club...that's the literal definition of mods. They are exactly the same mods that are available on Nexus, and in the game menus of Fallout 4 and Skyrim Remastered.

The only actual difference here is that mods created in the Creation Club are game modifications and enhancements which have been "officially approved" by Bethesda. They won't corrupt your game file, they'll always be compatible with each other, and they should function a bit more smoothly with the base game than the fan-made projects we're used to tinkering with. And you may still be able to get achievements and trophies.

Some of these mods will be created by Bethesda, while others will be created by modders who have partnered up with the studio. But the idea of a partnership raises a lot of questions for fans and creators alike. If modders partner up with Bethesda, does it mean that they're obligated to charge for all of their mods? What happens to modders who aren't partnered with Bethesda? What does it take to become a partnered modder, anyway? And how will all of this be regulated, since modding is such a gigantic realm?

Bethesda sure as hell isn't providing us any real answers.

The Creation Club is really nothing but trouble.

Besides completely shattering the idea that mods should be free and throwing a middle finger to all the modders who have provided amazing (and free) content to the community thus far, this whole Creation Club is a terrible thing because it could potentially extend to future releases.

As stated earlier, currently, the Creation Club will impact Skyrim Remastered and Fallout 4. But what about future titles? Will Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 receive the same treatment? Chances are that they will if Bethesda has its way and convinces us to pay for mods. So if this Club slides by, we're likely going to watch the free modding community go extinct.

But there might be a silver lining somewhere. Maybe.

Though the Creation Club is receiving a lot of negative feedback from almost everyone -- as evidenced by the recap video's like-to-dislike ratio -- there is one positive thing that might come out of it.

This new structure could potentially be a blessing in disguise for PS4 users. As you may or may not know, the PS4 versions of Skyrim and Fallout 4 do not allow external assets for their mods, which is a fancy way of saying that modders cannot use outside elements (files not found in the base games and/or DLCs). With the Creation Club, PS4 users have the opportunity to download mods that do use external assets, and get the chance to have the same experience as PC and Xbox players -- even if it means having to pay for that same experience.

They want you to think this is different, but it isn't.

The Creation Club is the same thing that Bethesda and Valve tried to implement in 2015. It's the same mistake, and it looks like Bethesda hasn't learned anything from past experience. Once again, modders and gamers alike are annoyed and furious at the idea of having to pay for mods.

Anyone who's taken part in the modding community knows just how much Bethesda has relied on them in the past -- for things like unofficial bug patches, textural enhancements, and more. Trying to monetize that without the community's input is a slap in the face. So there are a lot of questions that Bethesda needs to answer before its fans are going to swallow the idea of paying for mod content. And from the sentiments that fans have expressed so far, those answers better be damn good if they're going to justify what the Creation Club is trying to do.

4 Reasons Why Skyrim Is Still The Most Relevant RPG Right Now https://www.gameskinny.com/8zr8d/4-reasons-why-skyrim-is-still-the-most-relevant-rpg-right-now https://www.gameskinny.com/8zr8d/4-reasons-why-skyrim-is-still-the-most-relevant-rpg-right-now Wed, 07 Jun 2017 12:46:35 -0400 Samuel Franklin

On November 11, 2011, Skyrim was released to the world. Selling over 3 million copies within just the first few days of release, Bethesda's latest entry in the Elder Scrolls series was an instant success.

Perhaps the greater success, though, has been Skyrim's ability to stay relevant over half a decade later. Continuing to attract media attention, extra playthroughs and even first-time players -- all while fostering an ever-thriving modding community -- this is an achievement that few games can muster. But how did Skyrim manage to pull this off? Let's find out.

Additional Content (2012-2013 & 2016)

Like most modern day titles, the early longevity of Skyrim was bolstered with additional content that expanded on its story and mechanics. In a similar manner to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Bethesda was quick to release extra content for Skyrim in the form of Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn to augment the game's universe in the first year after its release.

While some of the add-ons did not receive particularly favorable reviews, the extra year of content kept Skyrim in the headlines. More recently in 2016, the repackaged Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition included all of these add-ons, along with other updates to once again keep Skyrim front and center.

Community Mods (2011 - 2016)

The first step for most people to extend their Skyrim journey even further is using various mods created by the community. Be it core gameplay changes, visual enhancements, or once-off laughs that turn all the dragons, the huge number of mods continues to grow and develop -- enhancing the game beyond its original experience.

While the aforementioned Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition has made some of the visual mods obsolete, there are still a large number of useful mods available that add new quests, extra locations, alternative starting stories, alternative enemy types, more weapons, NPC alterations and combat changes. And there's no sign of it slowing down any time soon -- Skyrim mods are here to stay.

The Witcher 3 Release (2015)

There is no such thing as bad press -- and the release of The Witcher 3 was not all bad for the nearly-4-year-old Skyrim. Despite being an amazing game in its own right and better than Skyrim in many ways, the success of The Witcher 3 drew instant comparisons to Skyrim, allowing Bethesda's acclaimed RPG to once again revive itself in gaming forums and media headlines.

Having The Witcher 3 invoke similar feelings to Skyrim made many gamers (including myself) return to this snowy corner of Tamriel after finishing Geralt's adventures (approximately 100 hours later).

Nintendo Switch (2017)

The only thing better than playing Skyrim at home on your PC, Xbox, or PlayStation is being able to play it on the go on your new fancy Nintendo Switch. Marked for a release in Fall 2017, Skyrim once again dominated YouTube, forums, and the media upon the announcement it would be available to Nintendo's new console.

Many gamers will no doubt be grabbing a copy of Bethesda's classic to play on the train, plane, or simply away from home -- reliving the experience all over again.

These are just a few of the dozens of factors that have kept Skyrim relevant while other games have come and gone through the years since its release. There are many more we could list here, and we're certain that there will be more in the future that keeps this game relevant until The Elder Scrolls VI is finally announced.

Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

\n

Download mod

\n

Bethesda doesn’t really like to support its games after release, so everything is now in the hands of the modding community -- which so far has done just fine on its own.

\n

Initially, there were tons of bugs encountered by players all over Skyrim SE. As a result, the unofficial patch fixes all possible and encountered bugs in hundreds of quests, objects, NPCs, etc.

\n

---

\n

If you haven’t found the right mod for yourself, then you can suggest some of your own favorite Skyrim SE mods in the comments below.

Immersive Armors

\n

Download mod

\n

If you don’t care about the environments too much, but you do like to see a solid set of armor on your character, then Immersive Armors will do exactly that. It includes 55 new and completely original sets of armor with hundreds of customizable items, such as shields, helmets, capes, etc.

\n

The new armor looks amazing, and it brings more colors to the otherwise dull environments of Skyrim SE.

Skyrim 2017 Textures

\n

Download mod

\n

If you feel underwhelmed with the remastered version of Skyrim, and wish it looked better at 4K, then this mod should fulfill your requirements of how a real remastered version of the game should have looked like.

\n

It is regularly updated with new textures for both exterior and interior locations, and your game will look super crisp even at the highest possible resolution. And, if you’re looking something more fitting for 2K resolution, then the better alternative would be Noble Skyrim mod.

Zim's Immersive Artifacts

\n

Download mod

\n

Artifact weapons and armor in Skyrim almost always underperform, and some vanilla items are better than the famous rare ones. Here is the solution to this dilemma! The Zim’s Artifact mod changes the stats of most unique weapons and armor sets in the game in a balanced manner.

\n

These items will not be overpowered, but at the same time will serve you much better than vanilla items. This will make your character have both a unique look, and be strong enough to deal with most threats.

Improved Eyes

\n

Download mod

\n

CG characters may have natural-looking facial and body animations, but the eyes always lack something. This little mod overhauls all the eyes in Skyrim SE and makes all characters look more alive, which is possible due to its use of actual human eye textures.

\n

It may not sound like a big thing, but as soon as you install this mod, the population of Skyrim will suddenly become exciting to interact with. And that's the primary goal of any immersive mod.

Apachii Divine Elegance Store

\n

Download mod

\n

This unusual mod adds a new merchant store to the game that sells both male and female outfits that truly stand out from the rest of the game's vanilla clothing. Apart from clothes you can buy jewelry and other luxurious items.

So if you’re looking to hold a wedding ceremony in Skyrim SE, but there is nothing appropriate for you to wear, then head straight to the Apachii store at any time of the day.

Unique Locations - Riverwood Forest

\n

Download mod

\n

But what about the landscape of Skyrim SE? If you would like to see more changes in the exterior part of the game, then the Unique Locations mod is probably the one you’re looking for. It offers a completely new look for the Riverwood Forest, with unknown trails and objects.

\n

The Bandit Hideout now contains more structures, which makes it into a true challenge to raid. The location actually becomes so complex that you can easily get lost in there.

Palaces and Castles Enhanced SSE

\n

Download mod

\n

There are some super exciting palaces in Skyrim, such as Blue Palace or Palace of the Kings. But as soon as you arrive there they turn out to be rather empty, and honestly, underwhelming. Well, the PCE mod changes that.

\n

It offers a complete interior re-design of the six major castles in Skyrim SE, including Dragonsreach, Blue Palace, Castle Dour, Mistveil Keep, Understone Keep, and Palace of the Kings. There you will meet new NPCs, take on new quests, and discover some surprising secrets, too.

Joy of Perspective SSE
\n

\n

JOP is a simple yet very effective little mod -- it makes your first-person POV more immersive. The movement animations get more realistic and you can see your entire body, which was not possible in the vanilla version.

The Ultimate Dodge Mod

\n

Download mod

\n

Dodging has always been quite problematic in Skyrim, but with the help of TUDM you will be able to dodge the enemy hits like a pro. The developer of the mod was inspired by the Dark Souls dodge mechanics and implemented similar techniques in Skyrim SE.

\n

The principle of dodging is very simple: all you need is to press the “Sneak” key + directional key. As a result your character will gracefully dodge even the fastest and most dangerous hits.

Lore Weapon Expansion SSE

More weapons means more fun! This fan-made expansion adds over 50 new types of weapons that can be either looted from chests or crafted. All weapons are tightly connected to the lore of The Elder Scrolls, and include some truly rare items.

\n

One of them is the Daedric Crescent -- a unique two-handed Daedric weapon that originally belonged to Dregas Volar, the Dremora Lord. This weapon was first conceived for the Legacy of the Dragonborn expansion, and now you can use it in Skyrim SE, too.

Splendor - Dragon Variants SSE

Download mod

\n

Undoubtedly, dragons are the most exciting creatures in all of Skyrim. If you feel that there aren’t enough of them in the game, then you need the Splendor mod, which brings over 700 new dragons to the Special Edition.

\n

All types of Fire and Frost dragons can be categorized into seven groups that correspond to their levels of power: Young, Blood, Aged, Elder, Ancient, Revered, and Legendary.

\n

On a technical level this mod is executed perfectly, and it is fully compatible with all other mods that you may already have installed.

More Kill Moves And Decapitations

\n

Get It Here

\n

Those glorious kill-shot camera frames from the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series offers some truly brutal imagery when you get a perfect head shot or blow off a limb (Hey, that raider didn't need his left arm anyway).

\n

Working within the confines of the PS4's modding structure, this modification greatly increases how often kill-shot moves occur, lets them happen multiple times in the same battle sequence, and makes it much more likely you'll send an enemy's head flying off into the woods from a decent decapitation.

Tavern Wench Default Outfits

Have a thing for the plunging necklines and the side-slit skirts of the tavern wench outfits? A series of mods will change the default outfit options for various characters so they are always wearing these more sultry clothing combos.

There's a pretty wide range of characters to apply this mod to, including some rather amusing ones, like Argonian lizard folk strutting their stuff in the wench getup.

Non-Essential Children

\n

Get It Here

\n

You knew it was coming -- the most NSFW mod of them all that doesn't involve copulating werewolves or dominatrix outfits: the ability to break Bethesda's rules and kill the kids.

\n

Personally, I love the reasoning for this mod displayed in the PS4 edition's mod description, which tries to make it seem like a noble endeavor to make kids killable:

\n
\n

- Immersion: Fight to protect the children you adopt. This will give your adopted children a priority never seen before.

\n

- Courage: Watch as children stand beside the people they care about. They were raised as warriors, not cowards.

\n

- Survival: Fight for the children. Skyrim is relentless, filled with dangerous enemies. Protect all the children of Skyrim

\n
\n

Yeah, sure thing buddy. We all know you just want to kill annoying beggar kids who won't stop bothering you in Whiterun. Just own up to it man, everyone feels the same way.

\n

Because of how children are flagged in the Skyrim, this one doesn't play well with any combat overhaul mods, so be careful if you've got other mods installed!

This sexy robe / sandal / hood getup was originally included in the Skyrim code, but it never actually made it into the game's wearable objects for some reason -- although they can be seen on some statuary in the game. PC players can rectify that easily by force-spawning the item IDs, but console fans will need a proper mod to get access.

\n

Obviously, it's not as risque as anything you'll get with the various famous female outfit mods for PC, but the Nocturnal robes are quite a bit more revealing than the average Skyrim outfit. Seems like a lady mage running around those snow-capped peaks would get quite cold, quite quickly!

Much like with Fallout 4's limited NSFW mod options, finding the really good stuff is a serious challenge for the Skyrim console player. Hats off to Bethesda for making mods available for non-PC players at all, but unfortunately, the offerings are quite sparse.

\n

Beside the fact that all the outright sexual or nude mods are banned entirely on Xbox One and PS4 (Hey, Microsoft and Sony, you know we're adults, right?), there's an extra hurdle for the PlayStation fans: Sony won't allow ANY external assets to be used in modding.

\n

This puts a serious damper on what's capable, modding-wise, on the PS4, as even silly NSFW stuff like cursing, burping, farting mods aren't possible. And you can't get any of the sultry companions who say some of the more suggestive things like you can on the Xbox.

\n

Of course, every once in awhile you'll get some brave soul uploading a nude mod that removes all clothes (rather than adding new nude textures), but it inevitably gets taken down and the modder gets banned withing a matter of days.

\n

If you don't want to spend hours searching for what NSFW content is available for Skyrim on the PlayStation 4, here we've rounded up some of the best content that ups the blood factor and offers some extra eye candy.

In the past, amateur modders haven't gotten the credit they deserve for their ability to create amazing content on a low budget. The assumption that player-created content isn't as good as the stuff that comes from big developers is utter garbage -- and unfounded.

While the Steam Workshop has had some issues in the past, I don't think that's a valid reason to avoid the marketplace forever. Staying away from all Workshop mods because some have had bugs in the past not only doesn't make sense, but it keeps you from having the most customizable gaming experience you can with Steam RPGs. (And really, look at all the buggy content coming from AAA devs these days...)

We've all seen the wild success of Workshop mods for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Skyrim, and this isn't without reason. The Steam Workshop allows modders to flex their creative muscles and produce imaginative content that big developers don't think of or weren't allowed to create. While there have been some great mods from the Steam Workshop, we need more than just mods for RPGs like Skyrim.

I (along with many others) would love to see Steam Workshop mods for Fallout 4, Dark Souls III, and The Witcher 3, for example. While the mods for these games are on Nexus, I would argue that famous modders like FMPONE have shown us that the Steam Workshop has the capacity to produce amazing game modifications. However, there is a lack of awesome modders like FMPONE -- a CS:GO modder -- for Steam RPGs. I know that for games like Dark Souls III, the lack of Workshop mods is due to a lack of Steam support for the game. Maybe this is out of our hands, but I think there is a need and a demand for mods with verified support. This is why I'm coming out and saying that we need more Workshops for Steam RPGs.

Great Mods Make for an Even Better RPG Experience

I love modding my RPGs, and if you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it. You can change anything from your character to the landscape to the sound effects you hear in the game. Mods range from functional texture improvements to ridiculous Staff of Sweet Rolls for Skyrim that turns your enemies into pastries. While FPS mods are cool, there's something about mods for RPGs that can make you feel like a master of your own universe, which is pretty awesome.

Having the ability to completely customize your gaming experience makes an RPG so much more personal and exciting. Steam Workshop mods really allow a player to become so much more invested in the story because you have more control over your world. In addition to the fun and sometimes hilarious mods you can download, there are also really functional mods like this Incandescent Reshade mod for DS3 that adds more color and light, which really helps gamers like myself whose vision is going down the tubes. Simply put, mods make for an all-around better gaming experience.

You Can Never Have Too Much of a Good Thing

If more modders put out content on the Steam Workshop, it would become flooded with more epic content and dilute the amount the poorly-made mods, improving the platform as a whole. Since the Steam Workshop is somewhat limited, it increases our chances of downloading bad mods. If there was a larger selection of content, we'd have better chances of avoiding game-breaking downloads, ultimately giving us the best gaming experience possible.

There is no downside to having a wider range of Workshops and mods to choose from when you want to add new weapons, items, landscapes, and other game-improving mods to your RPG. More content means Workshops would have to put out better content with more efficient support in order to rise to the top. This type of competition would separate the standout modders from the Workshops that push half-baked mods.

Anyone who has ever gotten sucked into the trap of trying to download all the mods knows that it can be extremely addictive. Gamers can be greedy, and once you start customizing your RPGs to your desires, it's easy to want to have all the textures, new weapons, and map additions. Personally, I can never have enough, and from looking at tons of message boards, I see that there is a demand for more Steam Workshops.

Modders Would Have a Chance to Stand Out

If anything, the Steam Workshop is a great way for modders to gain a following and potentially improve their resumes if they have professional aspirations. There are a lot of RPGs on steam that could really use more Workshop mods. If modders created Workshop mods for the RPGs that could really use some love (like the ones mentioned above...just saying), it would give them a chance to really stand out on the Steam Workshop.

There's so much you can do to mod RPGs with regards to character features, items, and maps. I've seen some really creative mods I never would have thought of, like this Realistic Weather mod for TW3 that gives users snow, fog, and rain. For any aspiring modder, creating a Steam Workshop would be a great way to really showcase your talent to prospective employers. It might be more work to get a Workshop page, but it's worth it for modders who want to stand out professionally.

Everyone Wins if Steam Workshop Gets More RPG Mods

There is so much potential in the Steam Workshop for great RPG mods that simply isn't being utilized. I don't know about you, but I need more re-shading options and textures for Dark Souls III on the Steam Workshop (maybe not that crab one from the video above... but I'd like to have the option)! Other RPGs on Steam need the same amount of Workshop mods as games like Skyrim.

We've all known for a while that Nexus has more mods than the Steam Workshop, but I, personally, want to see more amazing mods with official support. If RPG players get more mods and modders get more exposure and a stronger platform, everyone wins.

If You Aren't Using the Smilodon Mod for Skyrim, You're Doing it Wrong https://www.gameskinny.com/7dk30/if-you-arent-using-the-smilodon-mod-for-skyrim-youre-doing-it-wrong https://www.gameskinny.com/7dk30/if-you-arent-using-the-smilodon-mod-for-skyrim-youre-doing-it-wrong Sun, 16 Apr 2017 14:04:25 -0400 Glitchieetv

Skyrim is still kicking ass when it comes to player base and playtime. With the release of mods on console with Skyrim Special Edition, even more players are creating the Skyrim they want. One of the mods that everyone needs to install is Smilodon, which enhances combat as you meander through the cold wilds of Skyrim.

Smilodon is the successor of the Wildcat mod. Updated, enhanced, and enabled for console, it has a range of features to make combat more realistic. Such features include timed blocking, improved AI combat with various fighting styles, faster combat with more damage exchanged, and attacks of opportunity.

The improved AI makes opponents more decisive when fighting and more relentless when hunting players down. Actions cost stamina and movement while having a weapon drawn is greatly reduced. Stamina and magicka regeneration are also reduced.

Smilodon can be turned on in an existing load and runs on a low script load. It also comes with the ability to configure or turn off various features, allowing players to customize their experience. Some features, such as the realistic damage, are not available on PS4.

The increase in damage and having a more advanced AI makes combat more ruthless, and the chance of dying is increased. While damage dealt and taken are in a fair exchange, players will have to be more mindful of their health levels. It is the perfect mod for experienced players who are looking for a challenge without installing an enormous file.

New players who are looking for a more in-depth combat system will find that with the Smilodon mod. The mod makes playing Skyrim Special Edition a more immersive experience. If you are not using it, you should be.

What do you think of the Smilodon mod for Skyrim Special Edition? What other mods are you using to enhance your playing experience? Let us know in fat comments below!

1.The Forgotten City
\n

An award winning mod, The Forgotten City offers a completely new expansion to the Skyrim's base game, adding in a new story where you solve a murder mystery.

\n

Alongside this, you meet new characters with their own stories, have to solve complex puzzles, and make moral choices that can alter the story's ending.

\n

Yes, that's right. This mod features different endings, all depending on what you do. A new expansion with tons of options? Yes, please!

2. The Paarthurnax Dilemma
\n

Note: This slide holds spoilers for Skyrim's end game!

\n

Paarthurnax is a much-loved character among many players of Skyrim, and it's easy to see why we love the wise dragon. (Myself included)

\n

During your final questlines, Delphine and Esbern feel it would be best if you also bring down Paarthurnax. Despite the mission being optional, it's quite sad seeing it constantly in your journal. This mod changes that.

\n

You can now persuade The Blades to set aside their differences and allow Paarthurnax to live freely. Should you still choose to fight him, you can expect him to have followers to back him up, so be ready.

\n

It's nice to see different outcomes to classic quests through mods like this.

3. Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim
\n

While the perks in Skyrim can be useful, this mod overhauls them to make way for a more impressive gameplay experience. There aren't any completely new skill trees for you to tackle, but here are just a few examples of the perks these mods add to your existing skill trees.

\n

---

\n

Skill Tree: Archery

\n

Perk: Trick Arrows

\n

Players are able to upgrade many types of arrows at a forge or anvil, adding a bonus effect. (Force, Immolation, Freezing, Grounding, Maze or Death) based on the material.

\n

Skill Tree: One-Handed

\n

Perk: Shieldbiter

\n

Forward power attacks with a war ax smash through a block, causing the target to drop their shield and take a critical strike that deals five times critical damage.

\n

---

\n

This mod allows for even more (and arguably better) perks to be used on our favorite builds. What's more, this mod opens up new avenues through which to play Skyrim, adding a completely new and fresh layer to this already classic game.

\n

4. Frostfall
\n

With Frostfall, weather effects are harsher and your only way to survive is to keep warm and stay fed. A great mod all around, Frostfall makes you do everything more efficiently.

\n

Bringing to the table three new survival components, hypothermia, cold water survival, and camping, you also gain two debuffs, exposure and wetness, and two buffs, warmth and coverage.

\n

Exposure is your main debuff here. It increases as you get colder, and it will affect your skills. Wetness will also increase your exposure.

\n

Nearly all wearable equipment in the game has both the warmth and coverage buffs attached to them, which are like armor ratings against the environment. Drinking soup, wielding a torch, and providing frost resist also add to your warmth multiplier.

\n

This mod would be great to have in all versions of the game, adding an additional challenge to an already challenging experience.

5. Alternative Start -- Live Another Life
\n

While the opening to Skyrim is interesting enough, we've seen the whole "Second Chance At Life" scenario too many times before -- and it can get stale.

\n

With this mod, you wake up in a prison cell and are able to communicate with a Statue of Mara, where you'll be given the choice to begin your life again.

\n

There are a multitude of choices in the Live Another Life mod. You can be a patron at a local inn or be shipwrecked. You can even begin life in Blackreach, everyone'favoritete Dwarven ruin. That certainly sounds fun, especially at level 1.

\n

This mod makes for more interesting playthroughs time and time again, and would make a great addition to the games special edition on consoles.

When mods were announced to be in all versions of Skyrim: Special Edition, fans were excited to see the potential of what these mods could bring into the world of Tamriel.

While hardware limitations can effect the availability of mods for your selected platform, it'd be great to see these mods come to Skyrim: Special Edition sometime in the future.

Bethesda announced earlier today a number of new features and fixes for Skyrim: Special Edition across all of the current gaming platforms -- consoles included. The new features include additions to the Bethesda.net mod catalog in the form of a new featured category, new mod sorting options, and a new mod rating system, just to name a few.

As far as fixes go, players can expect some performance and stability improvements, as well as a fix for a bug that was causing occasional crashes while going through the mod load order screen.

If you'd like to know all of the changes made in this patch, you can check them out on Bethesda's website. And if you're looking for more great Skyrim content, check out some of these other great articles:

As many a giddy PS4 fan has learned after going crazy installing new features, uninstalling mods isn't quite the same as it is on the PC version of Skyrim.

One of the most annoying things about these types of open world RPGs (other than de-emphasizing story and actual roleplaying choice) is that you always have more loot than you can conceivably carry back to town to sell or disenchant.

The main draw of this mod is the brewstation, letting you brew drinks in addition to cooking the standard food options, while the number of food recipes is also bumped up significantly and a few ingredients have been added in as well.

\n

If you've already crafted every type of food, try installing this Special Edition mod and keep your craft addiction going strong!

Mod: Scroll Crafting

I sort of don't understand why this Special Edition mod wasn't in the base game. Who exactly is making these scrolls that you find everywhere -- and why can't the main character get in on the scroll-creating action?

\n

Bethesda's vanilla Skyrim oversight is fixed by the modding community yet again, adding a new branch to the skill tree and the ability to craft a scroll for any spell. Besides the obvious utility function, this addition also makes it easier to have a pure magic build at earlier levels -- even before you have tons of magicka available.

Mod: Even Better Quest Objectives

\n

Download the Mod Here!

\n

Skyrim's vanilla (and exceedingly bare bones) quest objective screen barely tells you anything about your current quest other than the absolute basics.

\n

It definitely pales in comparison to the lengthy journal entries of more hardcore RPGs, and the lack of information sort of dumbs down the game -- especially the Special Edition -- as you basically just follow the arrow until you hit the person you need to talk to or kill.

\n

That particular issue is alleviated with this mod, which gives you a much clearer idea of who gave the quest, where they are located, and what you are supposed to do to specifically fulfill the quest objectives.

There aren't usually a lot of ways that PS4 players end up in this situation, but they've actually been outclassed by Xbox fans in the mods department this time around thanks to Skyrim: Special Edition

\n

PlayStation 4 players are now playing catch up twice with this revamped Skyrim experience: once to meet the PC community's insane plethora of mods, and again to just get on par with the Xbox One, which had several months lead time on mod support over the PS4.

\n

At the moment, there are only a paltry 1,600 PS4 Skyrim mods available, which might sound like a large number, but it's an infinitesimal fraction of what's been created since the game first arrived for PC six years back.

\n

Many of the best Skyrim mods -- like the major bug fixes that address problems still present even after all the patches -- sadly haven't hit the PS4 just yet. There aren't a ton of mods that spice up the game's dialog options yet either, which is a shame as much like with Fallout 4, the dialog and story in Skyrim aren't quite up to par with the promise offered by this massive game world.

\n

Despite those missing elements, there are still plenty of excellent PS4 Skyrim mods available, and here we're rounding up the best of the best mods you should get on installing first.

3 Improvements We Want to See Made to Skyrim's Enderal Mod https://www.gameskinny.com/ylrfc/3-improvements-we-want-to-see-made-to-skyrims-enderal-mod https://www.gameskinny.com/ylrfc/3-improvements-we-want-to-see-made-to-skyrims-enderal-mod Sat, 24 Dec 2016 10:00:01 -0500 Justin Michael

While it doesn't really feel right to call Enderal a mod, so much as it's a complete conversion of vanilla Skyrim it can also be called a masterpiece. Currently holding a 9.4/10 on ModDB.comEnderal is a completely new game built using Bethesda's Creation Kit as a base, along with base assets from Skyrim.

Enderal boasts 20-30 hours of gameplay, it's own twist on level progression and a dark, psychological story. The changes are too many to count, so here's a quick teaser trailer for those who haven't played it:

With so many rave reviews, it's hard to find things that could be improved upon. That's why I was only able to come up with 3 real aspects that could be made better in Enderal.

1. Enderal's Combat

So here's the kicker with the combat in this thing. The combat itself has been tweaked for the game, with new spells and abilities added in. For me, the drawback is that it's merely a tweaked version of Skyrim's combat system. Now, I'm not putting down Skyrim, a game I have close to 900 hours playing, but Enderal just feels like it needs something more to its combat. It's not bad, I just feel it would benefit more from a different type of combat system.

Perhaps if it went for a more Witcher 3 system with parry and dodge roll mechanics? I feel like it would be more natural feeling that way. The AI could also use a bit of work but again, that's down to vanilla Skyrim mechanics. Maybe if you were able to intergrate some combat mods like "Wildcat" or "Combat Evolved" it would help to make combat situations feel more tense.

2. Enderal's Cutscenes are a Slog

The cutscenes are long. Not only are they long, they're unskippable as well. While they do serve to help move the story along, it can feel really tedious at times to be forced to sit through them, especially with their often clunky animation mechanics. It's not a total deal-breaker but the option to skip cutscenes should be present.

Or, if this were to manage to get a port to the 64-bit remaster, they could look into doing the cutscenes like they are in Fallout 4, where you're able to move out of them or speed them along. I guess a downside to doing this would be that you'd be prone to skipping through relevant story information and maybe not appreciate the game as much. But it's all about the user experience! So ...

3. Enderal's Crafting Feels Weak

I may not always like the grind to gaining proficiency in crafting skills but the reward at the end is worth it. But that's not the case with Enderal's alchemy skill. Unlike in vanilla Skyrim where having an alchemy skill could vastly increase your potions -- somewhere around ~125% more powerful -- Enderal caps out at around 25% more powerful. This makes crafting potions less desirable because players can find/buy better potions than they'll ever be able to craft.

Now I know that a few other modders have done some work to fix some of the crafting issues, but it's kind of weird to have a mod to fix another mod (although I know from experience that there are plenty of mods doing this).

Other than that, Enderal is an amazing experience that you should, well, experience, especially if you own vanilla Skyrim. What's more exciting is the recent announcement of a "DLC" for the game -- adding an additional 10-20 hours of play time to this already impressive mod. For more information here's a sneak peek trailer:

Do you have some improvements that you feel could be made to the game? What's been your experience with Enderal? Let's talk about it in the comments below!

Gary's Real Mare Horse Mod

This one's a little less naughty than you'd think... but just a little. It does give full male and female genitals to horses, although unlike the various LoversLab mods it doesn't include any sex animations and is just for looking only (but hey, that horny werewolves one is almost the same thing).

\n

Although apparently meant to be serious, I honestly can't stop laughing at some of the patch update notes for this mod like "much rounder teats and udder, better textures" and "fixed seams at vulva." The Internet is a wild place, and Skyrim has unquestionably made it more entertaining.

Bethesda games are a breeding ground for mod creativity, and there are some truly bizarre entries covering objects and scenarios that it's clear the developers never imagined would come to places like Tamriel or the Boston Commonwealth.

We've looked at Skyrim nude and gore mods before, of which there are easily thousands (perhaps even tens of thousands) covering every conceivable kind of sexual scenario.

What aren't covered as much are the kinkier side of NSFW Skyrim mods that let fans fly their freak flag proudly. If elf nipples and more beautiful male bodies just aren't scratching that itch for you, these are the kinky mods you should be trying out instead.
