FFXIV: How to Get the Slump Emote

A new patch brings a new emote. Here's how to get the /slump emote in FFXIV 6.5.

Every larger Final Fantasy XIV patch has brought new emotes, and 6.5 is no exception. This time around, we have the /slump emote, which does exactly what it sounds like. It can be learned from the Ballroom Etiquette — Defeatist Attitude tome, but you’ll have to do some work to get it. In this guide, we’ll go over how to get the /slump emote in FFXIV.

How to Get the Slump Emote in FFXIV

You may be displeased to find that Ballroom Etiquette — Defeatist Attitude can only be gotten through PvP. Like a handful of other emotes released during Endwalker, this one requires you to reach a certain Series Level. Last Series brought the /determined emote, and this time brings the /slump emote.

To get your hands on Ballroom Etiquette — Defeatist Attitude, you’ll need to reach Series Level 5. You can find your progress for your PvP Malmstone progression by going into your PvP Profile, and then navigating to Series Malmstones. If you’ve done these before, you know the drill to get your Series levels: grind out PvP.

Any PvP mode will grant EXP toward your Series Malmstones, but grinding out Crystalline Conflict matches will be your fastest route to reaching Series Level 5. They only take a few minutes. Both victories and defeats grant EXP towards your Series level, with wins granting more than losses.

Looking back at previous PvP rewards, it looks like you can count on Series Level 5 being the target for emote tomes. The cooler stuff is always further in, this patch offering some fancy Framer’s Kits between all the Trophy Crystals. It’s worth the effort to grind out if you want to show off to the players who refuse to touch PvP.

That’s all you need to know about how to get the /slump emote in FFXIV. Patch 6.5 brought new trials, tons of additions to the Island Sanctuary, new Triple Triad cards, and additional mounts. Look for more Final Fantasy XIV guides here on GameSkinny.
