LEGO Fortnite New Vehicles & How They Work in Mechanical Mayhem Update

Cruise around the biomes in style, thanks to the LEGO Fortnite Mechanical Mayhem update!

There are finally cars to drive around LEGO Fortnite, and unlike the makeshift vehicles we’ve been creating, these are the real deal. Build from three different vehicle options or get creative with your own build; here are all new vehicles, and they work in the Mechanical Mayhem update.

With the Mechanical Mayhem update on March 26, 2024, there are three different cars you can make through the Build menu of LEGO Fortnite. Each one is useful for various tasks around the map.

Speeder

The Speeder, as perfectly named, is the best vehicle for getting around the map as quickly as possible. It is the smallest, with only one seat, but the fastest of the vehicle options you can make. You can unlock the recipe by adding a Power Cell to your inventory.

Offroader

The Offroader is a bigger model than the Speeder, although it sacrifices some speed because of that. It is useful for carrying multiple passengers at once, with four seats to choose from. You can unlock the recipe by adding Flexwood to your inventory.

Hauler

The Hauler is the largest of the car options, with four seats for friends to ride in and a long bed to allow hauling other items with you and even bring a whole house on the road with you! You can unlock the recipe by adding Frostpine to your inventory.

How to Build Vehicles in LEGO Fortnite

Vehicles can be built through your Build menu under the Builds section. Like building the other presets, you will follow step-by-step instructions by placing each brick and part you need in order. However, if you don’t want to create one of these three options, you can get creative and make your own vehicles.

For your homemade vehicles to work like vehicles, they will need the particular Vehicle Parts on them. Vehicle Parts are found under the Toys section of your Build menu. These are the three Vehicle Parts you need to include and what they do for your vehicle:

  • Power Center – The Power Center works like an engine for your vehicle, and that is what powers it. The more Power Centers you have on your vehicle frame, the longer it can drive before requiring more fuel.
  • Wheels – Your vehicle won’t be able to drive without wheels. With Turnable Wheels, you can direct your vehicle left and right with the Driver’s Seat. Powered Wheels can only go forward.
  • Driver’s Seat – The Driver’s Seat is not only a seat but also the steering wheel of your vehicle. Placing this down will allow you to get in your car and direct it the way you want to drive.

How to Power Vehicles in LEGO Fortnite

Once you have your car put together, you’ll need some fuel to power up your vehicle. Instead of using gas, you’ll get a more economically safe option to power your car—Power Cells. You can make Power Cells by building the new Compost Bin station and recycling objects into Biomass. Keep making Power Cells to get your vehicle charged and ready to go.

With these new mechanical options, we can get around the biomes with ease. Try out one of the three vehicle presets, or get creative and make your own ride!
