LEGO Fortnite: How to Repair Tools and Weapons

There's a bug you can make use of to repair weapons and tools in LEGO Fortnite, but be careful with enchanted gear.

Though there’s no official way to repair your tools, there’s currently a bug you can exploit to get your weapons and tools back up to full durability. I’ll go into how to repair tools and weapons in LEGO Fortnite in this guide.

How Do You Repair Tools and Weapons in LEGO Fortnite?

It feels like tool and weapon durability decreases far too fast in LEGO Fortnite, which is definitely by design. Heck, even my Amber-made Forest Axe gets close to breaking after a single cave excursion for Flexwood. You don’t have to make new tools whenever they break, though, because you don’t have to let them break. There’s a bug that will help you save some materials and a lot of headaches with your tools.

It’s very possible that Epic Games will patch this bug out soon enough, but for now, you can use it to repair your tools and weapons when their durability is getting low. You’ll need to keep the materials around to build a Small Chest, meaning you’ll need to keep 6 Planks in your inventory to make this work away from your village(s). To note, it doesn’t have to be a Small Chest. Any storage will do.

How to Do the Repair Tools Bug in LEGO Fortnite

The steps to performing this bug to repair tools and weapons is refreshingly easy, considering how grindy it is to get anything else done. I’ll take the respite, and I’m sure you’re glad about it, too. Here’s how to repair weapons and tools in LEGO Fortnite:

  1. Build a Small Chest using the Builds menu.
    • The Small Chest is found under Furniture -> Storage and requires six Planks.
  2. Place your low durability tools and weapons in the Small Chest.
  3. Break the chest with the items inside to get them back up to full durability.

One important thing to note is that enchantments are wiped when you do this on a tool or weapon. A friend found this out the hard way, so you might not want to use this method on equipment that’s been enchanted. This is a very nifty trick for long cave excursions or exploring far from the nearest village.

That’s all the advice I have to give about how to repair tools and weapons in LEGO Fortnite. The game makes you struggle enough, this bug is well-worth using to save on some time and effort.
