Where to Find Every Resource in Lightyear Frontier

I had an internal debate if I should sort these resources by resource name or by zone (area) on the map, but I opted to use the “sort by zone” option in the approximate order you will visit them. You can always find text on the page with your browser if you’re looking for a specific resource. Here’s a table of contents with comprehensive map images.

Where to Find Copper in Lightyear Frontier

Copper is a pretty important resource in the early game, and if you’re lost trying to find some like I was, I’ll show you some pointers to save you time. Copper looks like a bunch of wooden planks sticking out of a deposit. I have found two great spots for farming Copper in Lightyear Frontier, and I am more than happy to share them with you. Here’s a picture of a Copper vein and two spots that are close to each other.

All Resources in Yellow Forest in Lightyear Frontier

In Yellow Forest, you will find truly interesting resources:

  • Zappertwig

How to Reach Tornado Rock Isle

Without spoiling too much, I can say that you should finish the main storyline (cleanse all areas of Noxious Slime and Noxious Weed and “free” them) and then find the mysterious door. After you’re done with that sequence of the game, you will be able to travel to the Tornado Rock Isle and do business there. It’s a lovely zone where you’ll have tons of fun for sure.

We’ve got a dedicated guide that explains everything regarding Noxious Pod, Noxious Spore and Power Core.

How to Get Ammo For Your Paint Gun in Lightyear Frontier

From the start of the game, I have been wondering what this empty rifle I am carrying next to my trusty pickaxe is and what it does, given the game is non-violent and you can’t shoot to kill.

Later, I found out that it’s actually just a paintbrush in essence, and I can paint my Mech with many, many different colors. You can get the ammo for your paint gun at Flower Press (used to make the basic colors) and Color Mixer (used to make “advanced” colors).

Color List in Lightyear Frontier

Flower Press allows you to convert flowers into these colors:

  • Red
  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • White
  • Black

Color Mixer then allows you to build the following colors:

  • Brown
  • Moss Green
  • Green
  • Turquoise
  • Sky Blue
  • Sapphire Blue
  • Orange
  • Bronze
  • Citrine Brown
  • Wine Red
  • Purple
  • Night Violet
  • Pink
  • Rose
  • Gray

The game will tell you which colors you need to mix for each of these, meaning you’ll need to grow and/or find many flowers to load your paint gun fully. If you have paint buckets in your inventory, you can hold “Q” to change the desired color. By tapping your right-click on the mouse, you can switch between Primary and Secondary parts. You can paint a part of the Mech into the chosen color by hovering over the part with your crosshair. You will see the “preview” of how that part will look if you paint it with your left-click.

How to Get Wood in Lightyear Frontier

There are 4 types of wood in Lightyear Frontier for now:

  • Wood is farmed by taking down regular, small trees.
  • Softwood is farmed by taking down Pine trees, large or small.
  • Hardwood is farmed by taking down Large Green and Yellow trees.
  • Glo wood is farmed by taking down Glo trees.

That’s all I’ve got regarding the most important resources in Lightyear Frontier. If you want some more guides, check out how to get money, how to edit your base and move stuff around, and Artifact locations at Pine Heights at our Lightyear Frontier hub.
