How to Get Granite in My Time at Sandrock

Granite, while not rare, is a necessary material you’ll need to upgrade your items and progress through My Time at Sandrock. What makes Granite tricky to get is that it can’t be mined with the default Pickhammer. Granite can only be mined with the upgraded Bronze Pickhammer.

How to Craft the Bronze Pickhamme

Unfortunately, you can’t purchase this tool anywhere, so you must craft it yourself. It took me a while to get all the material for it, but as long as you’re collecting materials as you play, it shouldn’t be too bad of a grind. You’ll need the following materials:

  • Bronze Bars x5
  • Wooden Stick x2
  • Copper Screw x2
  • Sharpening Stone x1

How to Mine Granite

Once you’ve crafted your Bronze Pickhammer, you can get your precious materials! You can find Granite Nodes in the Valley of Whispers, which is to the east on the map, right before the railroad bridge on the outskirts of town. Look for giant rocks that say Granite when close by.

How to Use Granite

After you’ve mined the Granite, there are two ways you can refine it. The first way is with the Civil Furnace, which is an upgraded version of the regular Furnace. To upgrade it, you’ll need the following:

  • Bronze Stick x4
  • Marble x2
  • Bloodstone Core x2
  • Bronze Pipes x 1
  • Machine Upgrade Kit x1

Alternatively, you can also craft it from scratch by giving 14 Data Disks to Qi at the Research Center. After waiting four in-game days, you’ll receive the blueprint. To build it, you’ll need the following:

  • Bronze Pipes x3
  • Bloodstone Core x2
  • Bronze Frame x1
  • Marble x4

Once you have the Civil Furnace, you can craft Granite Tiles that are used in plenty of crafting recipes. You can also refine your Granite in the Ore Refinery to for the chance to obtain the following materials:

  • Dregs
  • Crystals
  • Agate
