• He’s a popular romance option in SoS: AWL because his free spirit and love for nature feel like a perfect fit for farm life in the Forgotten Valley. However, winning Gustafa’s heart can be a little difficult compared to other marriage candidates.

All of Gustafa’s Likes in SoS: AWL

Gifting any character what they like is an easy way to raise their affection level, but to marry Gustafa, you’ll need to be a little patient. He won’t always accept multiple gifts in a row like other characters will, but the nice part is that Gustafa’s likes are still simple enough to grab. The easiest among them are:

• Flowers
• Melons
• Milk & Milky Soup

Between the flowers, milk, and milky soup, I never felt like I was at risk of running out of gifts for Gustafa. You can give him multiple presents per day as long as they aren’t the same item, but you must spread your gifts throughout the day for him to accept them. You’ll be trekking around quite a bit to marry Gustafa.

Gustafa’s Complete Schedule

Gustafa’s schedule isn’t as routine as other characters, but like Matthew, it’s fairly open; he’s much easier to give gifts to than someone like Molly. He often wanders around the Forgotten Valley. The timeline below is a pretty regular day for him.

• 9AM – 10:30AM: In his home
• 10:30AM – 12:30PM: Playing guitar behind the inn
• 12:30PM – 6PM: Traveling to and staying in the Forest
• 6PM – 9PM: Heading home
• 12AM: Goes to bed

How to Find Gustafa’s Diary

Like with other romance options, you’ll track Gustafa’s affection for you in his diary, which you’ll find in his yurt. It’s in the back against the couch with the guitar leaned against it.

Gustafa’s Heart Events Detailed

Gustafa’s Heart Events are a little different than some other characters (like Lumina) since they’re tied to seasons. Luckily, there’s one per season, and they’re still based on if he has enough affection toward you to trigger the event. After these events, you can propose to him with a Blue Feather. As a bonus, you’ll hear the song he’s been writing over Year 1 if you decide to marry Gustafa.
